Found Again

“Did I hear it right? You don’t want me to be too close to Lieo?” I asked to hope that I really heard it wrong.

Andrew looks at me intently. His intense looks make me feel nervous. What happens? Why is he asking me not to be too close with Lieo? Is he jealous or what?

“You heard it right. I don’t want you to be too close to him.” He said more clearly this time.

My eyes widen a fraction from the shock of his frankness. “But why? What did he do to you? Or are you jealous? You know that I’m always close to him but we are just friends.”

“I know you only see him as a friend but not Lieo. He doesn’t see you as one.”

My brow furrowed from confusion. I don’t really get his point.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

His eyes lingered on me which added to the nervousness I felt. “Do you know why Anne was in that bar that night?”

This is surely connected to Anne. Lieo was always connected to Anne. It was because of him why we met Anne. I wanted to shove the bitterness I felt whenever I hear Anne’s name. Andrew already clear the issue, we also got back together but I don’t know why I still feel this bitterness and awkwardness towards her.

Iya and I already talked yesterday and we are back from being friends. it’s the same thing with Andrew’s friends. Though I don’t have any issues with them, I just chose not to talk to them when I was in the US because they are connected to Andrew.

Anne and I never talked. It was as if we both avoiding each other.

“What about it?” I asked calmly.

He licked his lips and started his speech. “Anne was heartbroken that night. Lieo rejected her.”

Shocked was an understatement of what I feel right now. How come Lieo will reject Anne? He told me he likes her… or did he?

I am trying to recall if Lieo and I talked about his feelings for Anne. I’m sure that we talk about it.

Oh right!

The KTV night!

Lieo grabbed my hand and went out of the KTV room that we rented to celebrate Anne’s passing on her actual driving test. At that time, I thought Andrew likes Anne and not me. I feel hurt by the closeness of the two. Lieo notice it and asked me to leave the place. I opened up about what I felt towards Andrew and even my first heartbreak. Then I confronted him about Anne.

“Why are you guys like that?! Why do you keep doing things that will make us misunderstand you?!” I asked Lieo, a bit frustrated.

“You calm down first. But to answer your question, there are things that even us, can’t ​explain or understand.” Lieo said.

“Like the things between you and Anne?” I asked.

I saw him stunned by what I said.

“Come on! You don’t need to hide it from me. I knew why you asked me out of that place. You are also hurting to see them together. You already saw with your own eyes how close those two were to each other. Am I right?”

He look at me intently and just sighed. “Guilty.”

I chuckled. “So tell me why until now you are still not courting Anne? And what about the issue between you and your ex-girlfriend, is that true?”

“Nothing is going on between Mich and me. She will be getting married, and I am not his groom. The reason why we are always together is that Mich is asking me to help her with the wedding preparation because her soon-to-be husband is a bit busy. Mich is someone close to me. The reason why even though we have already broken up, we remained as good friends.” He explained.

I chuckled. So my best friend is just overthinking?!

“Why are you letting her think that something is going on between you and Mich?” I asked him curiously.

“It was Mich’s idea. I really don’t like her idea but Andrew’s timing is asking for it, so I just let it be.” He said.

My smile disappeared after hearing his name.

“Sorry,” He said, a bit worried.

I smile at him. “Because of that, you got my 100% support.”

He frowned. “For what?”

I rolled my eyes. “I always deducted points on you because you were always missing in action. So I don’t want to support you. But it’s different now because I decided to give you my full support in winning Anne’s heart.”

He chuckled. “Really? Do I even need that?”

“Of course! I’m her best friend, so my opinion matters.”

He raised his brow. “Really? So did I pass your expectation?”

“Yes, you did!” I told him.

I can’t be mistaken. My conversation with him that night is proof that Lieo likes Anne. So why did he reject Anne?

“Hey baby, are you still with me?”

I was back from deep thinking upon hearing Andrew’s voice.

“That’s impossible! Are you sure that Lieo rejected her? Maybe Anne was just mistaken, Lieo told me before his feelings for Anne.” I said in defense of Lieo.

Andrew’s lips parted. “When was that?”

“Remember when we went to a KTV to celebrate Anne’s actual driving test?” I asked to see if he recalled that night.

He glared and nodded at me. “That was the night where you both went out of the KTV room and bond alone.” I can hear the bitterness in his voice.

I smiled when I remember something. “That was also the night where you confessed your feelings for me.”

A smile crept on his face. I guess he remembers it. It was a great memory that I will always treasure.

“That night, I asked Lieo about his feelings for Anne and even his issue with her ex-girlfriend Mich. I am sure with what I heard. Lieo likes Anne! Anne can’t be rejected by Lieo.” I explained.

Andrew smirked at me but I can also see the annoyance on his face. “You know why Lieo rejected Anne?”

I rolled my eyes because Andrew is ignoring my statement. “Obviously not!”

“Lieo rejected Anne because of you. He confessed to Anne his feelings for you.”

“That’s impossible!” I said, still couldn’t believe what he just said.

“It’s true, baby. I also confronted Lieo and gave him a hard punch!” He said then smirked proudly at what he did to Lieo.

I glared at him. “Why did you do that to him?!”

“He broke the bro code.” He simply said.

I feel irritated by Andrew’s reaction. They are friends for God’s sake! And Lieo never hit on me or take advantage of the situation I had with Andrew.

“Are you sure it’s was because of your so-called bro code and not because of Anne?” I asked a bit unconvinced.

Andrew’s brow furrowed. “Why will I punch Lieo for Anne?”

I rolled my eyes again. “You are close with her. Maybe you want to act as her knight in shining armor.”

He sighed and shooked his head. “I may be close with her but I will never punch a friend just because he rejected her. Of course, I care for Anne because she was a good friend to me. But with regards to her love life, I can only be a shoulder to cry on but I will never involve myself with them.”

“I punched him after I hear from his mouth that he likes you.” He added.

My lips parted from shock.

“That’s why I am asking you not to be too close with him.”

I shooked my head. “No, not now.”
