Chaim glanced at the namy’s back and then looked at the phone on the hood. With a snort, he raised his hand to pick up the phone and tossed it into the bushes on the side

Reid looked at Chaim, who came out of the elevator, and could not help but become dumbfounded. “Mr. Humphrey, your face…”

“What’s the matter?”

Chaim’s cold gaze swept over, making Reid freeze. He swallowed and shook his head. “Nothing.”

In the company, no one dared to laugh at Chaim anyway.

Reid hastily found an excuse and walked back to his desk.

Chaim frowned slightly and walked into the office.

The desk was still the same as before he left. He took the papers he had just seen halfway through and continued to look through them.

Yet after nearly ten minutes, he did not even turn a page.

He reached for his collar and pulled the old phone with buttons out of his pocket.

He didn’t know why he picked up the phone that he had thrown away. It was a phone with buttons from more than ten years ago, and even Eric wouldn’t use it.

A password was required to unlock the phone. Looking at the words “enter the password” on the screen, Chaim only felt ridiculous and that he was ridiculous, too.

He thought, I must be crazy to even want to check this phone.

What is there to see? It is just a phone that Samara doesn’t want anymore.

Even though he thought so, his hands acted differently.

The password was wrong.

He frowned. For some reason, he entered his birth date.

When the phone was unlocked, he had a special feeling.

He didn’t know how to describe the feeling. It was like someone bought the lottery and had a hunch that he was going to win, and then he did. He was overjoyed, and at the same time, he felt more satisfied somehow.

There was nothing in the address book, but there were over two hundred texts.

Chaim knew that such prying was immoral, but it seemed to him that his image in Samara’s eyes could not be worse.

So, doing one nastier thing which disgusted her wouldn’t thake any difference.

People were always rebellious. Chaim lived for thirty years and was always the “good boy” in the eyes of others, but Samara successfully brought out all his rebellion.

He did not know why, but when it came to Samara, he would always behave like he was another person.

Just like now, he couldn’t control himself from starting to read those texts.

The latest text message was from three years ago. There were only three words: “I married him.”

And the one before that was: “I don’t know what’s going on. I just feel so messed up. He says he will marry me, but I don’t think it’s a good thing.”

And the one before that was brief as well: “I saw him again today.”

Those texts, more than two hundred in total, were sent from the same number, and it took Chaim more than thirty minutes to

read them all one by one.

The oldest one was from ten years ago: “I found him.”

No one else would have been able to understand what those texts stood for, yet not Chaim. He knew the meaning of every one

of them.

Both those texts and the painting that Gloria had found were proof that Samara loved him.

Chaim clutched the phone, and the frustration that he had felt over the past few days suddenly vanished. He could hear his

heart beating violently.

He figured that it was Samara who drugged him that night four years ago, so he always thought that she married him for fame and money. Only after the divorce did he realize that she was also a victim that night and that she had married him because she

loved him.

Later, he found the painting and the online comic. Only then did he know that Samara had loved him for so many years.

However, none of that was as powerful as the texts he saw today.

As he thought of all that had happened before, he felt overwhelmed by something huge he had never felt before.
