Chapter 298 Gifts From the Humphrey Family

Kadin and Mary looked at each other and didn’t touch the compensation agreement. Kadin waved his hand. “Mr. Humphrey,

let’s not talk about the past.”

“Mr. Novak, I disagree with you. That happened in the past, but I can’t turn a blind eye to Samara’s hurt from the Humphrey family. It is just compensation. Mr. Novak, please accept it. Otherwise, I can’t feel at ease.”

When Kadin heard Eric’s words, he sneered in his mind. However, he said with a smile, “Mr. Humphrey, never mind. Samara is forgetful. It has been almost a year, and she hasn’t taken it seriously.”

Eric sighed, “Mr. Novak, what happened in the past was all my fault. I was stubborn, so I made Samara suffer when she was in the Humphrey family. You may rest assured I will not allow anyone in the Humphrey family to hurt Samara again.”

Hearing Eric talking about that, Mary became sullen. Kadin was calmer, but he could hardly keep smiling. He frowned. “Mr. Humphrey, I don’t understand what you mean. Samara and Mr. Chaim have been divorced for almost a year…”

Eric looked at Kadin and smiled. “Mr. Novak, young people are proud. Haven’t you seen the news on the Internet? Chaim and Samara are in a relationship. Since they have made their choice, we shouldn’t interfere with them.”

Mary heard the nonsense and couldn’t help but ask, “Mr. Humphrey, do you mean Samara and Mr. Chaim are reconciled?”

Interrupted by Mary, Eric was somewhat unhappy. However, he knew he was there to apologize. His smile froze for a moment, but he regained it quickly. “Chaim loves Samara, and Samara loves Chaim. Mary trembled with anger. Kadin held her hand. “Mr. Humphrey, you are right. Samara can choose her lover, and we will not interfere. You have talked so much, but what is the important issue you are talking about?”

Eric chuckled, “I haven’t made it clear. I am here to discuss Samara and Chaim’s marriage with you. I have prepared gifts for Samara. Jeff, show the gifts list to Mr. and Mrs. Novak.”

Jeff nodded and took out another document.

Jeff was experienced because of the last document. He opened the document and handed it to Kadin and Mary instead of putting it on the table.

Mary could not help but glance at it. The Humphrey family was generous in order to make Samara marry Chaim. However, Mary didn’t care about the gifts.

The Novak family was not short of money and didn’t need gifts from the Humphrey family.

Mary looked at the list and twitched her mouth. She could not help but chuckle.

Seeing that, Eric became solemn. “Mrs. Novak, are you dissatisfied with the gifts?”

When Mary saw Eric looking at her, she became less contemptuous. “Mr. Humphrey, you must be joking. Kadin and I only have one daughter. Everything in the Novak family belongs to Samara. We

don’t care about the gifts. As Samara’s parents, we hope she lives a happy life. If she is happy, Kadin and I don’t mind doing anything for her.”

Mary’s words were meaningful and ironic. Samara had insisted on marrying Chaim, but the Humphrey family looked down on her. At that moment, Eric tried to please them so that Samara could marry Chaim. How ridiculous!
