Chapter 629
Chapter 629
Ryder's words made the room fall into an eerie silence in an instant.
Just now, the air seemed to be filled with sparks, but now it's cold as ice.
Alyssa, feeling uneasy, decided to step out of the room.
She was just at the door when she overheard Ryder's words.
It nearly scared the bejesus out of her.
The others in the room were just as taken aback, even Agnes was too stunned to react.
They all stared at Ryder's rigid profile.
Only Jared, radiating cold energy, said, "Ryder, have you lost your freaking mind?"
Ryder turned around, looking calm, "The one who's lost it should be you. You ditched your own
engagement, now you're forcing Agnes to marry you. Let me make things clear, Agnes is not your wife,
nor your puppet. You don't have the right to force her into anything she doesn't want."
Jared stepped up to Ryder, "And what gives you the right to lecture me? Even if we're divorced, she's
still mine."
"You're not the law, it's not all about what you say."
Jared snorted, "Our business is none of your concern, at least I am Nocturne's father."
"My understanding of what a father is might be different from yours, and who Nocturne wants as his
father is still up in the air." Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
The two kept going back and forth, neither backing down.
Jared finally chuckled, "So, you've known all along that Summer is my son."
"I've known Agnes for three years abroad, naturally, I'd know."
Jared's fingers clenched into a tight fist.
Ryder, still calm, asked, "What, you wanna take another swing at me?"
Jared, expressionless and cold, answered, "No, I won't hit you, but don't expect me to be nice towards
you from now on."
"Feeling is mutual."
Jared and Ryder each held one of Agnes' hands, neither letting go.
Agnes' hands were being squeezed so hard it hurt.
Tim watched as Jared and Ryder turned into arch-enemies over Agnes, and he was so pissed he felt
like he was about to have a heart attack.
Finally, he slammed his cane on the floor, "Are you guys trying to piss me to death?"
He never expected Ryder to have something to do with Agnes.
He just got back and now talks about getting married.
From their conversation, Tim was able to piece together the puzzle.
Ryder and Agnes met abroad years ago and their relationship was solid.
Ryder turned around, "Agnes and I were engaged abroad. She's my girlfriend now, and she has
nothing to do with Jared."
Tim was so mad he could barely breathe, pointing at Ryder, "Have you really lost it? She was engaged
to you, but had Jared's child, and you still want to marry her. What in the world is going on?"
Ryder calmly replied, "I’ll be honest, I had feelings for Agnes four years ago, and I think you all knew.
But I gave up because of Jared. Now they're divorced, there's nothing wrong with us being together. As
for Nocturne, I've always treated him like my own."
"But she's your uncle's wife!" Tim was so furious he threw a trinket from the table.
The trinket hit Ryder's chest, making a dull sound, then fell to the floor and shattered.
Ryder coughed a little, but his voice remained calm, "Grandpa, your anger is clouding your judgment.
Agnes and Jared are divorced, and they have nothing to do with each other anymore."
