Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared)

Chapter 793

Chapter 793

Yolanda knew it deep in her heart that if things continued this way, with Jared backing Agnes, she Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

might genuinely lose her position one day.

What intimidated her most was that Agnes was indeed quite competent.

But so what? Agnes was nothing more than a discarded wife from a wealthy family with an arrogant

attitude. Yolanda didn't give her a second thought.

After leaving the venue, Agnes went straight to the parking lot.

The plan was to leave with Jared, but she didn't expect to run into Sharon and Jared talking in the

parking lot.

Sharon said like a little girl seeking praise, "Jared, I'm really happy today. I won Best Actress. I can still

hold my ground in this industry. I'm not a useless pretty face, am I?"

There was a comforting smile on Jared's face.

"Of course not, you're amazing. I'm glad I was able to present you the award personally and witness

your growth and hard work."

Smiling, Sharon replied, "Your affirmation means more to me than anyone else's. I owe my

achievements to you. You've always been there for me, pulling me up whenever I hit rock bottom. I'm

genuinely grateful for you."

Patting Sharon's shoulder, Jared said, "Silly girl, I'm your brother."

At the mention of 'brother,' Sharon's expression seemed to change subtly. A hint of bitterness seeped

through her eyes.

Across from Sharon, Agnes saw everything clearly. But Sharon's sight was blocked by a pillar, so she

couldn't see Agnes at all.

Suddenly, Sharon said, "Jared, I saw Ms. Pritchard today. She interviewed me."

Jared responded casually, "Oh, did the interview go well?"

Sharon nodded. "It went really well. Ms. Pritchard is nice, and she asked me questions I was confident

in answering. But I didn't get a chance to chat with her."

Jared assured her, "There will be other opportunities. I'll introduce you to her."

There was a poignant look in Sharon's eyes when she looked at Jared.

Agnes noticed how Sharon's fingers clenched nervously. Finally, Sharon seemed to muster the courage

to say, "Jared, can I hug you? Just one hug, please?"

There was a pleading tone in Sharon's voice, almost like a child begging for candy.

What man could resist such a request? As expected, Jared gently hugged her.

Sharon rested her head on Jared's shoulder, careful not to hold on too tightly.

But Agnes clearly saw tears sliding down Sharon's cheeks. It was heart-wrenching to see. Her

melancholy and longing felt like a hand strangling Agnes.

At that moment, Agnes realized something. Regardless of Jared's feelings for Sharon, Sharon's love

for Jared was something beyond mere friendship.

It was hard for Agnes to watch from afar.

It wasn't their hug that bothered her. The hug was nothing more than a common social courtesy.

But it was Sharon's feelings for Jared that stung Agnes.

Suddenly, Agnes felt a mess.

It wasn't surprising, though. Jared had told her he saw Sharon as a sister. But without any blood

relation, what woman could resist Jared's charms?

Even Mamie fell for him once...
