Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared)

Chapter 886

Chapter 886

"Later, I asked my mom about it, and she said it was a gift from her dearest friend, something of great

significance to her. I think it was the charm you gave her, the one you tossed into the trash. But my

mom, she quietly picked it back up."

Hearing this, Alyssa finally broke down, tears streaming down her cheeks.

She hadn't fallen apart like this in years. She never imagined that Julia had retrieved the bracelet from

the trash.

The symbol of their friendship had been personally discarded by Alyssa, yet Julia had salvaged it. Julia

had long since forgiven her.

Clutching Agnes, Alyssa wept openly.

The airport was bustling with people who couldn't help but stare at the scene unfolding before them.

Alyssa had always been a socialite, careful about her public image. But at that moment, none of that

mattered. The demons that had haunted her for years seemed to vanish. The torment, the control, the

gnawing at her soul, the darkness residing deep within her – it all disappeared knowing Julia had

forgiven her.

By the time they got to the hotel, it was late. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Only then did Alyssa tell Agnes that the first person they needed to see tomorrow was Cilian Thomas.

Only Cilian had the influence to summon the old family doctor.

The next day, after breakfast, Agnes accompanied Alyssa to the headquarters of the Thomas Group.

The towering glass skyscraper left Agnes in awe.

Cilian's office was on the 99th floor.

Alyssa had clearly made an appointment with Cilian. As soon as they arrived at the Thomas Group

entrance, a sharply dressed man came to greet them.

He introduced himself, "I'm Mr. Thomas' secretary, Carroll Clark. Please, just call me Carroll."

Alyssa nodded.

Then, Carroll led them upstairs. They took the elevator directly to the 99th floor.

Agnes had never been to the Thomas Group before and found it as vast as a labyrinth. Entering the

lobby, she wondered if a shout would echo through the space.

Carroll ushered them into the CEO's office.

Before opening the door, Carroll said, "Ms. Whitfield, the chairman has requested to see you alone."

Alyssa frowned.

Agnes said, "Then I'll wait outside."

Carroll told her, "Ms. Pritchard, you can follow me to the lounge."

After a moment's thought, Alyssa said, "I'll be out shortly, wait for me."

Agnes nodded.

Agnes had heard a lot from Alyssa the day before, but Alyssa hadn't mentioned Cilian.

Regardless, Cilian was Ryder's biological father, and Agnes believed there must be an untold story

between Alyssa and him.

After so many years, it wasn't her place to be present at this reunion.

Carroll led Agnes to another room, while Alyssa entered the CEO's office.

The office was spacious, dominated by a vast expanse of clear glass windows. Cilian stood before

them, his posture exuding a dignified air.

He dressed particularly sharp today, his figure betraying none of his fifty-some years.

Even from behind, he projected an aura of solitary regality.

At the sound of the door, Cilian turned around when Alyssa stepped in.

Despite bracing herself, the sight of Alyssa made Cilian's heart ache.

But he greeted her with a gentle smile that belied his pain, "Alyssa, it's been a long time."

Within those seemingly simple words were the suppressed emotions of years past. But Alyssa would

never know.
