Hello, Mr. Brent

Chapter 241

Chapter 241

"What time is it?" Emily asked weakly.

Lisa glanced at the clock and told her the time.

Emily sat up in surprise, frowning in pain, and exclaimed, "What? It's been a day?"

Yesterday, she had come home in the afternoon, and now it was afternoon again. So a whole day must

have passed.

Lisa sighed and said, "To be exact, it's been two days."

Emily twitched the corner of her mouth and looked at her speechlessly. How weak was she? Even

though Franklin had tormented her, which was somehow like a punishment, he hadn't hit her, nor had

he used anything strange. They had just done it a few times. Why on earth had she been asleep for

two days?

Thinking that Joyce had said she would take care of the business in the flower shop in the next two

days and then leave, Emily anxiously asked Lisa to give her phone to her.

She was afraid that she had missed Joyce's call. If she had, not only Joyce would be worried, but her

son Bryce would be scared.

"Your phone switched itself off. It was almost dead. Then someone called. It rang a few times, and then

it was dead," Lisa said.

Emily said, "Then give me the charging cable. It's in the drawer."

Lisa brought her the charging cable, and Emily quickly charged her phone.

However, the phone couldn't be turned on immediately. So she had to wait for a while.

Emily compressed her lips and asked Lisa tentatively, "Where's Franklin?"

Lisa looked at her awkwardly and said nothing.

Emily sighed and said, "Tell me! It doesn't matter. I can bear anything in this condition."

"He went on a date with Miss Lewis. I heard that Miss Carter was also there. He went to apologize to

Miss Carter with Miss Lewis." Lisa had to be honest.

Emily sneered, "It was me who offended Ivy. Why did he ask Avery to apologize instead of me? It's

really improper of Franklin to do this."

"It doesn't matter. Mr. Brent said that Miss Lewis was the wife he was about to marry. If she couldn't

show magnanimity, how could she become the wife of the Brent Family?"

"Yes, a mean and revengeful woman like me is certainly not as good as Miss Lewis." Emily felt that

Franklin's words were clearly meant to belittle her, and she sneered at herself.

As she spoke, her phone was charged and turned on.

As soon as the phone was turned on, a lot of text messages and phone calls appeared. There were

also Whatsapp messages. Anyway, messages showed up from all the messaging apps.

Emily frowned and quickly reached for her phone to look at it.

It turned out that it was Joyce who had contacted her and Sebastian who had called her.

"Hello, Joyce, what's wrong? You've called me so many times. Is there any emergency?" Emily did not

dare to neglect the phone calls and she quickly called back.

As soon as Joyce answered the phone, she burst into tears and scolded, "Emily, you bad girl. Why did

it take so long for you to call me back? Do you know how anxious I am? I've called you a million times."

It was the first time that Emily had heard Joyce being so anxious that she cried.

She quickly said, "Joyce, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. My phone was dead. I just woke up, so..."

"Stop talking nonsense and come to the police station. Bryce is missing." Joyce cried.

Emily, "..."

"What did you say? What happened to Bryce?" Emily's heart seemed to stop beating for a moment.

When she came to her senses, she couldn't wait to ask Joyce.

Joyce was crying so hard that she couldn't speak. Sebastian seemed to have taken her cell phone.

Sebastian said in a low and hoarse voice, "Emily, come here now! Bryce has been missing for a day

and a night. We are now reporting the case to the public security bureau. They say that the case can

be filed 24 hours after the person is missing. But we're not Bryce's guardians. Only when you are here

can they file the case."

"I'll be right there. Wait for me." Emily hung up the phone anxiously and struggled to get out of bed.

Seeing that she was about to get out of bed, Lisa quickly held her up and said, "What are you doing?

You haven't recovered yet. Why are you getting up?"

"My son is missing. Let go of me." Emily screamed in despair.

Lisa looked at her in shock.

Emily gritted her teeth and pushed Lisa away. She didn't think of changing her clothes. She was

wearing her pajamas. Then she just put on a coat and walked out.

Lisa realized what happened after Emily had left. She quickly took out her phone and called Franklin.

Franklin was still in the clubhouse, with Avery sitting next to him. Harry sat across from them with a

sullen face. Ivy didn't approve of them being together, but she was still excited with a flushed face

because Franklin came to apologize to her in person.

"Wait a minute, I have to answer the phone." Franklin said.

He glanced at the caller ID. It was Lisa.

Now Lisa was taking care of Emily, and there must have been something that happened to Emily. So

he stood up, walked away and answered the phone.

As soon as Franklin left, Harry looked at Avery and asked, "How are you doing with him? I heard that

last time he was photographed when he was drinking coffee with Emily at Starbucks. Don't you mind?"

At the time, Franklin had people block this news and forbidden the newspapers and magazines to

publish it, but in a society where the Internet was so developed, it was hard to eliminate those photos

when they were shot and then forwarded on the Internet.

So they all knew what happened, and many of them even saw the photos. They just didn't dare to talk

about it in front of Franklin.

For example, there was a photo of Franklin and Emily on Ivy's phone, and Ivy showed it to Mrs. Brent

on purpose. Mrs. Brent also knew her place in Franklin's heart after all these years. She knew that it

was useless to talk to him, but she still ran to Emily and made a scene just to disgust her.

Avery smiled faintly and said, "It's just a cup of coffee. It's nothing. Why should I care about it?"

"Just a cup of coffee? When did you see Franklin go to that place for coffee with anyone? You know

him well. He's so pretentious that he never goes to a place like that. Only Emily can take him there,"

Harry said excitedly.

Avery said gently, "So what? It's not that you don't know her identity. I know it, too. I don't care about

such a small matter, so I accepted it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have accepted it back then."

"Avery, why did you choose to suffer all the grievances?" Harry didn't understand.

Avery's eyes darkened and she sighed, "I didn't. Harry, it's you who can't think clearly."

Just as she was speaking, she saw Franklin hurrying over to take his clothes. He was going to leave.

Avery was stunned. She quickly reached out to grab his arm and asked, "What's wrong? What

happened?"

Franklin wore a gloomy expression and his eyes darkened. There was affection and anxiety in his eye.

She had not seen such an anxious expression on his face for a long time, and it was obvious that

something bad had happened.
