Chapter 22
Chapter 22
"Now it's great that your first girlfriend is back. and I'm also going to have my lover soon. We're even."
Emma calmly said to Glenn and then walked out.
Glenn was left alone, standing there like he was frozen.
For a moment, he felt something important slip away from him.
...
"How are you? Did he do anything to you?" Seeing Emma coming out of the box, Jamie asked her in
worried.
"I'm OK. Let get out of here."
Emma pretended lightness and waved her hands, but she looked a little tired.
"Well." Jamie held up her hand and stroked the ring that was put on her finger earlier. The expectation
in his eyes was about to overflow.
Emma's eyes were fixed on the little wedding ring. Countless fragments flashed in her mind, and finally
she seemed to compromise. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
"You had already put it on my hand. So...let's...do the marriage registration someday."
She was a little reluctant. But Jamie didn't recognize it. He was shocked by the huge surprise. After a
burst of ecstasy, he took Emma out with a smile on his face.
Glenn stood at the door. He heard Emma's words. And his face in the shadow was scaring.
After that day, Glenn never came back.
Emma took it for granted that her sincerity moved him. After all, what she said were the words that had
been hidden in her heart for a long time.
In stead of breaking off with Glenn, she was breaking off with herself.
After agreeing to Jamie's proposal. Jamie was busy preparing for their new home. Sometimes he
looked at Emma with a silly smile. And sometimes he asked her hurriedly which style of furniture she
likes.
That's good, Emma thought.
In these days, several teachers in the kindergarten had asked for leave, and so much work couldn't be
completed on time. Emma, who was just a volunteer, asked to help them check the homework. That's
why she went back late.
It was dark when Emma finished her work. She declined Jamie's request to come to pick her. She
walked alone on the quiet street with a book in her hand.
This street had always been very quiet. If it wasn't for the bright light, Emma would not dare to go.
She hummed and walked on the street with only a few pedestrians. She was in a good mood. Thinking
about the future, even the fallen leaves on the ground became lovely.
At this time, she noticed several tall shadows beside her own shadow.
She looked back in confused, but the next second her mouth and nose were covered with a
handkerchief. The medicine on the handkerchief quickly made her in a coma.
"Hey, be tender, the boss said he'll throw us to the northwest even if she just lose one hair."
It was the last words Emma heard before she was unconscious.
...
After ordering the subordinates to go away, Glenn went to the bedside and bent down to look at the
comatose woman carefully.
Maybe it's because of eating well and sleeping well in recent months. Emma's cheeks were not so
skinny as before. She look not so malnourished as she used to.
Glenn's finger poked her cheek, but what he said was scaring enough for Emma.
"You want to be even just in a word? No way!"
When Emma woke up, it was dark around her. She fumbled to turn on the light beside the bed. When
she saw the decoration of the room, she could not help but take a deep breath.
It was the bedroom in which she lived for three years.
It was Glenn's house!
Before she realized what was happening, her body reacted faster than her brain. She jumped out of
bed and couldn't wait to open the door.
But she bumped into a thick "wall".
Emma took two steps back and looked at Glenn in front of her, her eyes widened incredibly.
"What...What do you want?" There was an obvious tremor in her voice.
Glenn's expression didn't change much, he said as he walked in with a tray of pasta in his hand.
"I guess you're about to wake up, so I bring you dinner."
"I'm not hungry. Tell me first..." Emma was interrupted by a grunt from her stomach.
Glenn looked at her with interest.
Emma had to sit down in embarrassment.
After finishing the pasta, Emma said cautiously.
"Where am I?"
"My house." Glenn replied succinctly.
Of course she knew it was his house. She had lived in it for three years! How would she not recognize?
Did he regard her as an idiot?
But the point was, why were she here?
Glenn didn't give her the chance to ask questions. He went out with the tray and closed the door.
Emma finally knew what happened.
Glenn drugged her and kidnapped her.
Glenn brought her home and put her under house arrest.
But one of the things that Emma couldn't understand was that if he was angry because of the proposal,
Glenn would never be so easy to talk to her now. It's really not Glenn's style to keep her in a good
place.
So what exactly was the matter?
Emma didn't feel comfortable to return to the house again.
Memories of the past filled every corner of the house, reminding Emma one thing from time to time.
She had loved Glenn so deeply and so humbly.
On the tenth day, Emma finally couldn't help but decided to have a frank talk with Glenn.
But it was so unlucky that when Emma went downstairs, she saw a woman whom she hated most in
her life.
Her so-called sister, Celia, was sitting on the sofa, holding Glenn's cell phone and turning over
something.
As the saying goes, the road is narrow for enemies.
Emma took her eyes back and was about to go upstairs as if she had seen nothing.
It's not good to go out today. I should wait for another. She thought.
But obviously Celia didn't think so. She was surprised not less than Emma. She opened her mouth
wide and a thought flashed in her mind.
Glenn hadn't paid much attention to her recently, was it because of Emma?
With this conclusion, Celia said to Emma.
"Hey!"
Emma turned a deaf ear to Celia. She only felt sick in her heart and didn't want to see Celia for even a
second.
"Hey! Why you such a bitch come back to seduce Glenn?"
Emma stopped. She turned around and said with a smile. "You're right. Only you would like a guy like
Glenn."
"What did you say?" Glenn's low voice came from the door.
