Ivy was over the moon!
'I knew Ryan still had me in his heart,' she mused as she smiled at the colleagues.
"Thank you so much. I told Ryan to wait a bit but he seems eager to make me his wife," she remarked shyly.
"Of course he's eager! You're so beautiful, Miss Williams. I'm sure the boss loves you very much!" One of the colleagues said.
"That's right! We kept wondering when he would announce your relationship officially. We are so happy for you."
"Only an elegant lady like Miss Williams deserves the boss."
Ivy smirked at the praises she was receiving. She glanced at her colleagues and offered, "Thank you so much for your kind words. To celebrate my upcoming engagement party, coffee is on me! Feel free to order any treats to go with the coffee!" "Miss Williams is so kind!"
"I'm glad she will be the boss's wife!"
After the coffee arrived, Ivy took one cup and went to Lora's office. She had a smug smirk on her lips as she looked forward to seeing Lora's face after she told her the news.
To Ivy, Lora was interested in Ryan and just kept playing hard to get to get his attention. Now that she was sure Ryan still loved her the most, Ivy was relieved
Lora was engrossed in work when someone knocked at her office door..
"Come in," she remarked, raising her head to look at the door.
She furrowed her eyebrows when Ivy opened the door and wheeled herself into her office.
"What are you doing here?" Lora questioned, feeling irritated.
It seemed this couple loved coming into her office anyhow. Didn't they have better things to do?
Ivy approached Lora's desk and placed the coffee on the table before saying, "I brought you some coffee.
I got it for everyone to celebrate my engagement."
"Um, ok," Lora replied flatly. "Thanks."

She wasn't in the mood to tolerate Ivy and her schemes.
"Aren't you going to ask me who my fiance is?" Ivy asked.
"Should I?" Lora said, her eyebrows creasing.
"Ryan announced that we will be having an engagement party soon and our wedding will soon follow," Ivy announced in a taunting voice. "Congratulations," Lora responded.
Ivy thought she would see Lora's expression change but the woman had a poker face. She couldn't tell what she was thinking.
"I'll send you and your family an invitation, after all, our parents are good friends," Ivy remarked, feeling smug.
Even though Lora looked emotionless, Ivy was sure she was burning with jealousy inside.
Lora smiled at Ivy and replied, "We will definitely be there. Thanks for the invitation and the coffee. Anything else?"
"Nothing else. I just wanted to share the good news with you, Lora-"
"It's Miss Davis to you. We are not that close," Lora stated.
"Uh... Ok, Lo- Miss Davis. Are you happy for me?" Ivy asked, a mocking smile crossing her lips.
"Of course, I'm happy for you. The two of you make a wonderful couple!" Lora replied.
"Ok... I want to see you at the engagement party," Ivy said haughtily and turned her wheelchair around before leaving Lora's office.
'I won! Ryan will always be mine!' Ivy thought to herself
"... Miss Davis has already finished the design."
Ivy was in a good mood when she suddenly overheard a few colleagues chatting among themselves.
She paused in her tracks and wheeled herself closer to listen to what they were talking about, her heart racing in her chest.
'Lora has already finished her design?' She asked in her mind.
"Wow! She's so awesome! I can't wait to see her design. For her to form a partnership with Mir Kingsley, she must be good right?" "Do you think she's better than Miss Williams?"
"Don't let anyone hear you saying that. Miss Williams is a famous designer and the boss's fiancee. We
can't talk bad about her."
"She hasn't released any work in a while though..."
"Well, let's wait and see Miss Davis' work. Perhaps she will be the new famous designer since her parents are famous designers."
Chapter 19 The news
Ivy's heart sank when she heard what they said. She had been trying to come up with a unique design but no matter how much she tried, she just couldn't create something satisfying. What if Lora's design was really good?
Ivy was flustered. 'Will she steal Ryan's attention if her work is good?' She thought.
On her way to her office, she happened to pass Ryan's office. He had temporarily moved to the jewelry company since they were about to launch it soon.
There was a crack in the door which made her hear everything that was going on in the office. It seemed Ryan was arguing with someone on the phone.
Ivy got closer and placed her ear to the door to eavesdrop, only for her heart to sink when she realised who Ryan was talking to.
"... Grandpa, it's not an official engagement. That will happen during the party-"
"I've already announced it, Grandpa! I can't just take back my words, that can affect the company stocks."
'So, Ryan's grandfather wants to stop him from getting engaged to me,' Ivy said in her mind and she clenched her hands into fists. That old man was so annoying!
wever, there was nothing she could do. Ryan respected his grandfather so much and he might even do hat he says. Natie
