Chapter 26~ The real thief

Chapter 26 The real thief

Lora's laughter resonated around the conference room, making the employees stare at her as though she had grown an extra head.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Was she pretending to have lost her mind to avoid the repercussions of her actions? They couldn't help but wonder.

Ryan frowned and asked again, "Miss Davis?"

The room fell silent as they waited for Lora's response, still confused by her reaction. Why would she laugh happily in such a dire situation?

Lora calmly stepped forward, her eyes gleaming with confidence. She smiled at everyone and said, "Miss Williams presented her design and now it's my turn. This was a competition and I have a right to present my design too before y'all jump to conclusions." She gestured to Hannah, who went to the front of the room to help Lora display her work. Once the work was revealed, gasps echoed around the room.

Their eyes grew and almost pop, out of their sockets as

out of their sockets as they stared at Lora's design.

The design was so beautiful that it left everything's mouth gaping in shock.

At the same time, Ryan stood up, pushing his chair back with a screech. "This is..."

He was lost for words.

Lora's detailed design displayed on the whiteboard was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Just looking at it would make one's eyes fill up with tears. Ryan could tell how sentimental the design was and if this was released, it would dominate the market by its ability to capture someone's attention.

It couldn't be helped, Ryan was impressed. He didn't know Lora was so talented and he loved this design of hers. It was completely original and daring.... Taking a seat, he stroked his chin as he studied the details of Lora's design. "Wow! So beautiful!' He

mused.

Silence fell over the room as everyone took in the masterpiece.

It was a design that could relay one's feelings to another- a design that spoke volumes. It could evoke one's memory and comfort.

At the same time, Ivy's heart jumped to her throat when she saw Lora's work. She was caught off guard when the latter presented a different design. "I didn't know she had a plan B,' she thought in her mind and clenched her hands into fists.

Seeing everyone so stunned that they couldn't speak, Lora smirked. Her voice cut through the silence. Miss Williams, as you can see, this is my work. I didn't need to copy anyone, let alone you

"Miss Davis, how did you steal my design? I've been saying that for the company's upcoming launch narty. I know you're desperate but you didn't have to go this far," Ivy said after finding her words. Chapter 26- The real thirt

When everyone heard that, they came back to their senses. That's right. How could Lora create such an amazing design? The only thing that made sense was that she stole one of Ivy's designs that she kept for the future.

Lora let out a dark chuckle. She clapped her hands and uttered, "Wow! Miss Williams, you're really good at acting. However, the truth will speak for itself."

Hannah set up the projector and pulled up the surveillance from Lora's office. She announced, "Last time, we were not careful enough and allowed a rat to enter Miss Davis' office undetected. But now, the cameras we set in secret couldn't be wiped off by anyone." She was indirectly saying Ryan's surveillance had been tampered with. No wonder they couldn't find any evidence of the plagiarism case. The cameras were conveniently not working at that time.

Ryan narrowed his eyes while Ivy panicked. She stammered, "W-What surveillance are you talking about? Did you install secret cameras in the company to spy on Ryan?"

Lora ignored Ivy's claims and said, "I don't like explaining myself without any evidence to prove myself. Now look closely and see who the real thief is."

Hannah played the footage and everyone could see how Ivy sneaked into Lora's office and stole her designs by capturing images of it.

However, those who worked for Lora didn't hold back

"Wow! I thought Miss Williams was a renowned designer! Who knew she would steal someone's work and accuse the owner of stealing her own work?! What a shame!" Hannah added, "Miss Williams, what do you have to say for yourself? It's clear to everyone that you're the

real thief here."

Ivy could feel her heart pounding so hard in her chest. She said, "Miss Davis, how could you think of framing me like this? This footage is clearly doctored. Why would I want to steal your work when I'm a famous designer? You're just jealous that you're struggling to reach my level. If you admit your mistake, I'll talk to Ryan to forget this incident."

Ivy's supporters hesitated, not knowing who to believe.

Lora had the evidence that Ivy sneaked into her office to steal her work while Ivy claimed Lora stole all her works and used her reputation as a famous designer to claim her innocence.

Ryan looked at Lora and asked, "So, you created another design to trap Ivy?"

"Of course. How else would I prove that I didn't steal anyone's work?" Lora admitted.

"Ryan, don't listen to her! She's framing me!" Ivy yelled.

Suddenly, one of the judges, Eloise Calman, decided to speak. She had been studying Lora's design for

some time.

"Excuse me, Miss Davis. I can't help but notice that your work is similar to the work of the world-famous designer, Miss L. She also uses her designs to tell a compelling story. Are you Miss L, perhaps?" Chapter 26- The real thi
