The face of the head of the directors paled even more after hearing this. He was about to hit the woman again when the latter pointed a finger at him. “And you, old man, you want to protect that Bree more than me?” The woman laughed. “Well, if that’s the case…” She smiled widely and looked around. “Everyone, I am the illegitimate daughter of this man! He slept with my mother behind his wife’s back when he went to a business trip in the North.”

Jenica’s eyes narrowed as she observed the pale face of the head of the directors. He also pointed a finger at the woman as his mouth fell open. Disbelief was clearly written on his face.

“Old man, let me take your pulse!” she said with raised eyebrows. The old man raised his hand and was about to slap her in the face when Jenica simply side stepped to avoid his hand. She pressed her lips together. “Your hearbeat is fast and you are having difficulties in breathing. Your chest also hurts and your muscles are cold. Clearly, these are the signs that you are having a heart attack. And if you don’t let me take your pulse, for the next five minutes, it might be too late to save your pitiful ass.”

The old man gritted his teeth and turned around. He took a step away but he hadn’t taken two steps when he fell off the stand. Jenica rolled her eyes and performed immediate first aid to the unconscious patient. She glanced briefly at Bryce. “Call an ambulance now or you might lose him.” What she means is… Bryce might lose a pawn against the Mondragon.
