His Bride: Being the mafia’s princess

Chapter 66 – Shock.

“She is……” Bella was cut in on by some ladies who came to join them.

“Hey ladies.” A red haired lady chimed in with a bright smile on her face.

They were two other ladies with her, but they stood behind her while she sat down on one of the chairs.

“Diana!” Bella called out, sipping her drink.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

“Hey!” Diana replied with a wave.

“I’m Diana and you must be Lillian.” Diana turned to Lillian to say.

“You know my name?” Lillian asked, her eyes widened a little in disbelief.

“Of course. You’re Don’s little bride, so it’s only normal for you to be known around.” Diana shrugged like it was no big deal, leaving Lillian dumbstruck.

“Diana……” Bella tried to say, but she was interrupted by Diana.

“Why aren’t you with your husband, though?”

“Yeah, you’re here while your husband’s girlfriend rocks him on a seat.” Another lady chipped in.

Lillian wasn’t surprised, probably the reason she couldn’t find either of them.

‘She was used to it.’ She almost blurted out but managed to hold it within herself.

“We should definitely not blame Don, we all know his taste in women is so high. His wife looks so innocent to be married to him in the first place.” The last lady uttered and rolled her eyes.

“Clarissa stop.” Bella butted in.

“Who would have thought he would marry someone so gullible as a wife? Definitely not in my wildest dream.” She continued with a chuckle.

“Clarissa, that’s enough now.” Bella stated.

“What’s enough? I’ve just started.”

“You and I know the reason you’re doing this, and I think you of all people, who couldn’t maintain a one-week relationship with my brother, shouldn’t interfere in his marriage at all.” Bella spat out defensively, glaring at her, and she just rolled her eyes.

“Diana, I think it’s time you leave with your companions.” She added, glancing at Diana.

“Well then, Father wishes to see you.” Diana voiced out and stood up.

“Bye Lillian. It was a pleasure meeting you anyway.” She uttered before walking away with her friends.

Lillian didn’t say a word, instead, she took up her glass cup and sipped from it.

“I’m sorry about them.” Bella glanced at her to see her plain expression.

“It’s fine, and thank you for helping me put her in her place.”

“It’s always a pleasure. I will be back soon, just make yourself comfortable.” Bella uttered and left the area searching for Diana.

After searching for a while, she found her sitting with her dad. Her brother was also there with a few people, including Eva.

She rolled her eyes and made her way towards them in a catwalk.

“Happy birthday, Sir Antonio.” She saluted an old-looking man with a bright smile.

He was Diana’s father and the celebrant.

“You almost forgot to wish me, huh?” He queried with a playful look.

“Not really, I just wanted to make my sister-in-law feel comfortable before anything else.”

“Then, you should have brought her along, at least to introduce her to us.” Sir Antonio demanded, taking a sip of red wine, and the others nodded in agreement.

“I am not the one to do that, it should be someone here, but unfortunately, he isn’t ready to take up his responsibility.” Bella glanced at Don with a stern look as she spoke.

Eva released a light scoff from her seat and took a sip of her champagne stylishly.

“You’re definitely right. Instead of him introducing us to his wife, he is here with his girlfriend.” Sir Antonio joked, and they all laughed except for Don who maintained his plain look and Eva who was already feeling irritated.

“Father, I have to go now. I will be back in a few minutes to start the party fully.” Diana chipped in amidst all the laughter.

“Sure, go ahead.” Sir Antonio agreed and she left the place.

“Too bad, he still doesn’t regard the pretty damsel as his wife.” Klaus voiced out with his lips curled up in a smile.

“That is awful, or isn’t it, Eva?” Sir Antonio shook his head and glanced at her.

She chuckled but didn’t say anything. Instead, she just feigned a smile.

Don paid little attention to them as his eyes were trying to catch a glimpse of Lillian. He could see her from where he sat, but it didn’t last because some people were blocking his view, giving him a little chance to see her.

He had seen her when they were leaving the house and couldn’t help but reckon on how beautiful she looked, even if he couldn’t tell her that.

A man was sitting in front of her, and they were chatting, but with her expression, she looked unhappy with his presence.

Don signalled on Draco, and he came to him immediately, bending to his level.

He whispered some things into his ear, and Draco went to the man as instructed.

Somehow, Lillian felt relieved to see him, even though Draco’s expression looked fierce as always.

“She is Don’s wife and isn’t someone to joke with. She is a part of the Dean, so step back and leave.” Draco threatened using the exact words of his boss, his mouth closely to the man’s ear.

He made sure his words were clear enough to the man and unheard by Lillian, just like his boss ordered.

The smile on the man’s face wiped off immediately, and he was forced to stand up.

He shot Lillian one last glance and left, making Lillian heave a sigh of relief. The man that just left had come to flirt with her, and she tried to make him understand she was married, but he wasn’t bothered.

Thankfully, Draco had come to her rescue. She made to thank him, but he was also long gone to the route he had come from, and she followed him with her gaze.

Her face fell once again when she saw Eva showering kisses all over Don, and he didn’t seem to push her off, even when his gaze met with hers.

She sprang up and gulped down the remaining cocktail in her glass before sauntering out of the crowd and outside the building.

She bit on her lower lip as her hand grabs a handful of her gown.

“How could he?”

Just like the interior of the building, the garden was dazzling as well. It had different flower designs which added to the beauty of the lights around.

She exhaled deeply as she closed her eyes to enjoy the fresh air. At least, it was the one thing that won’t leave her anytime, unlike her supposed husband.

“Hey beautiful!”

She opened her eyes immediately and heaved quietly when she saw it was just Drake.

“Drake?” She called out, looking a little surprised.

“Hey!” He cheered again, smiling widely at her.

“What are you doing here?” She asked, glancing behind him.

“Well, I couldn’t find you inside, especially when the introduction just began, and I thought you might be needed, so here I am.” He replied.

“Really? Was I called?”

“Not really but I just decided.”

“I came outside to take in fresh air, the inside was beginning to feel too suffocated for me, but it’s fine.”

“Oh!” Drake mumbled.

“By the way, you look so pretty tonight.” He voiced out after glancing at her from the head to the toe.

“Thank you.” She let out a genuine smile.

“I barely took my eyes off you all through.” Drake continued to say with his eyes staring into hers as he took a few steps closer to her.

Lillian noticed this and lowered her gaze a little.

“Are you flattering me right now?” She asked, glancing at his face, and she was shocked to see Drake had taken another step closer to her.

“No, I am stating the fact.”

The proximity between them left Lillian wondering why he was moving so close to her.

“I’ve fallen for you, Lillian.” He professed, staring deep into her eyes.

“Huh?”

Before she could comprehend what he had said, he slammed his lips on hers in a kiss.
