His Games, Her Rules

Thirty Seven

I stand upright, slightly ashamed of what just happened even though it’s nothing worth being ashamed of.

“Won’t you be waiting a lot longer?”

Dominique smirks, licking his bottom lip again as he glances around the hallway before fixing his gaze on me.

“I don’t think so, Robyn. You just showed me how attracted you are to me. And I’m happy we’re on the same page.”

“Being attracted to you doesn’t necessarily mean I will gladly jump on your bed and let you have your way with me.”

“Why don’t I jump on your bed, then, and let you have your way with me?” He asks, a small smirk playing on his lips as he cocks an eyebrow.

“You’re a cock, Dominique.” I push off the wall, fighting the smile on my lips as I turn to walk away, with Dominique behind me.

I spin around, nearly slamming against the muscular and attractive man as I look up at him.

“I don’t think it’s nice if you and I step out of the restroom together. You don’t want to give your date a bad impression.” I say, tilting my head to the side as I smirk at him with furrowed eyebrows.

“She’s just my client. She doesn’t give a fuck about who I step out of the restroom with. Why don’t we worry about you?”

“Damien’s a friend since you’re so nosy,” I say.

My eyes catch something at the corner of the hallway as Dominique follows my gaze. It’s a camera. And there are about two of them. Dominique chuckles as he turns to look at me.

“You think we gave them a good show?” He asks, a smug look on his face.

God, I hate that smug look and I badly want to punch his face just so he won’t always be so smug.

“Oh, fuck you, Dominique.” I roll my eyes as I step out of the restroom, with Dominique walking behind me, chuckling.

“I would really like that.” I hear him say behind me.

“Now, aren’t you a pervert?” I whisper as I turn to stare at Dominique from above my shoulder, only to catch him staring at my butt.

He’s shameless.

He looks up and our eyes meet and he smirks at me. I shake my head and look away, biting my bottom lip to keep me from smiling.

“Do you have any more sexy names for me, Robyn?” Dominique asks behind and I notice he’s close, almost too close.

“I’m gonna reserve them until we meet again,” I say, picking up the pace as I walk toward my table.

I’m tempted to turn around, tempted to tell him to go to hell and leave me alone, but we both know that is not what I want. Damien watches me as I walk toward our table but his gaze slowly shifts to a figure behind me. I turn around, eyes locked on Dominique who’s been staring at me as he sits down on a chair by the corner of the restaurant.

I look away, exhaling my breath as I make my way toward Damien. No wonder I didn’t see him, my back was against him all along. I pull out my seat and sit down, with Damien’s watchful eyes staring at me.

“Hey.”

“You took your time.” He says as he cuts out a piece of velvet cake with a fork and brings it to his lips.

“Yeah. Sorry about that.”

“It’s nothing. But one would think you and Dominique Gray came out of the restroom together.” Damien says, exhaling as he leans back. “I didn’t mean for it to come out like that. That was wrong. I sounded like a jerk.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“It’s okay,” I wave Damien off. “Dominique, uh” I sigh, not sure if I owe Damien some sort of explanation on why he’s thinking what he’s thinking. “It’s nothing. We should go.”

“Yeah. Of course. I’ll get the check.” Damien says as he waves the waiter over. He signals the waiter to bring the check.

“Are you okay?” Damien asks.

“I’m fine.” I flash him a small smile.

“Okay.” He nods, giving me a small smile of his own.

The waiter drops by our table and drops the check. Damien pulls out his credit card and gives it to the waiter. I open my purse to bring out my card but Damien waves me off.

“Don’t worry, Robyn. My treat.”

“Oh. No, Damien. Let me pay half. It’s not a date, right?”

Damien chuckles and motions for me to go on. I hand the waiter my card and he takes it.

“Please swipe both cards to sort the bill,” I say to him.

The waiter nods and leaves with our cards. The table is a little awkward and I can’t pinpoint why.

Maybe it’s because you left your supposed friend and ex to have a little romance and dirty-talking session with Dominique in the restroom and you feel like shit. God, my subconsciousness is a bitch, I give her that.

Out of the corner of my eyes, I see two people heading toward the exit, and out of instinct, I turn toward the view. Dominique, with his hand on the lower back of a woman, exits the restaurant as the woman smiles at what he tells her.

So much for her being his client.

I look away, only to lock eyes with Damien who’s giving me a look.

“What?” I ask.

“Nothing. I have a feeling something is going on between you and Dominique Gray. Something intense.”

“You don’t know shit, Damien.” I snap, sighing at my response. “I’m sorry, that came out wrong than I intended it to. I’m sorry. Nothing is going on between me and Dominique. And I don’t want to talk about it.” With you. You’re supposed to be my ex-boyfriend, not some guy I should be ranting to about my sex life.

Thankfully, the waiter comes with our card and we give him an appreciation nod.

“Ready to leave?” Damien asks.

“Yes, please.” I stand up, with my purse in hand as I head toward the exit with Damien beside me.

As Damien drives me home, he tries to lighten the mood with small talk, but I’m not listening. My mind is far from present in his car. The only thing on my mind is what transpired between me and Dominique in that restroom.

And the thought alone ignited a familiar feeling in me. A feeling that I’ve longed to suppress.
