Chapter 64

Nick's eyes narrowed. He just nodded at his secretary. He is curious about what Heather has to say. He

was about to pick up the receiver when his cellphone started ringing. He saw Stacey's number on the

screen. Like a flash, he took his mobile phone.

"Dammit honey! Where the f*ck are you? Who are you with?!"

He didn't want to yell at her but he is really pissed. He has been worried for hours and jealous as hell.

Images of her with the f*cking asshole with tattoo flashed in his head again.

"I-I'm w-with Eve." came Stacey's sweet but nervous voice.

She almost dropped her phone when she heard Nick's very angry voice. She had to call him before

Heather does.

I have been worried sick about you! Why is your phone off? F*cking hell!!" He is pacing the room while

loosening his tie.

"S-Sorry.. I was annoyed because you hung up on me."

Nick angrily combed his hair with his hand. " I didn't hang up on you ! I said I will call you back, didn't

I?" he asked in a clipped tone.

"I heard Tanya. She was at your office!"

He sighed. If he weren't furious he would probably have smiled knowing that she is jealous of Tanya.

"That's not enough reason for you to turn off your phone! We'll talk about Tanya later! Where are you?!"

"A-At the coffee shop. I am about to leave.. .."

"Just tell me the exact location!!"

"No need. I can.."

"Dammit!! Why can't you say where you are exactly at? Is there anyone else with you beside Eve?!"

If Eve is with her, there is a good chance that her cousin is also there. That thought made him grit his

teeth.

She heard his shallow breathing and her heart is thumping. Nick thinks that Blake is with them.

"I will just ask you one more time honey, where exactly are you?"

She had no choice but to tell him. No use fueling his anger. She will explain everything to him later.

"Don't you dare move! I'll be there in 15 minutes." he said in a flat tone.

She hurriedly went back to their table. "Eve we have to go. "

"You haven't finished your dessert."said Blake. He looks relaxed while he drinks his beer .

"Blake is right. What's the hurry? Let me finish my ice cream."

She looked at her watch. Nick could be here in less than 15 minutes. "Okay please hurry up. "

"You look edgy. What's the matter Miss Hotness?" Blake asked while his brows are knitted.

The cousins are now looking at her. She sighed. She might as well tell the truth. She's running out of

time. "Nick will be here soon. He is picking me up from the coffee shop next to this restaurant."

Eve's mouth formed an O while Blake's bluish-gray eyes look blank.

"Why didn't you tell him that we are here. Why lie to him?" he asked tonelessly and Eve pretended to

be busy with her dessert.

"He knows it's just me and Eve. We have to go. Sorry and thanks for the lunch." she told Blake before

pulling Eve's hand so they can go.

" He's jealous of me isn't he?" he asked all of a sudden.

Eve gave her a knowing look. She nipped her bottom lip before looking at Blake again. He has a bleak

expression.

"Just be sure that you are making the right decision Miss Hotness. Appearances can be deceiving,

always remember that." he said, his face is impassive.

They have been at the cafe for 3 minutes when she saw Nick's car. She couldn't take his eyes off him

when he got out and started walking to the cafe. His handsome face is stony. His strides are wide. Eve

motioned for a waiter to get their order.

Nick spotted them immediately His eyes never left hers as he comes to their table. She is mesmerized .

He exudes charm, confidence and sex appeal and she knows that all the women inside are checking

him out but what's amazing is, he doesn't even care because he got used to it. She wanted to stand

and go to him and show all the female that he belongs to her, but of course, she didn't.

"Girlfriend what do you want to order?" Eve asked so she had to take her eyes from Nick.

She looked at the waiter. She was about to give her order when she heard Nick greeted Eve.

"Black coffee." She told the waiter with a smile.

He sat next to her. She felt electricity ran through her body as his shoulder touched hers.

"Honey." The way he called her sounded so sexy.

Eve is just staring at them with her mouth slightly open. Maybe she can sense the spark between them.

how nervous and at the same time excited she is to be near him. She pretended to be busy looking at

the menu.

Without looking at him, she asked."What do you want?"

"You know what I want honey." he said in his bedroom voice.

Her nipples reacted and she blushed because she knows what he meant but she was talking about

coffee for Pete's sake!

Eve cleared her throat before saying. "Nick, try their cappuccino. It's good."

"Okay, I'll have that." he said before getting the menu from her and overturned it. "It's upside down

honey." he whispered in her right ear. Amusement is evident in his voice.

She wanted the ground to swallow her . That was so embarrassing! she thought.

He touched her hand as it to reassure her that it was okay. Maybe because he is used to women losing

their equilibrium like her because of his presence.

"What else do you want Eve?" he asked .

"I'm good. Thanks."

He squeezed her hand, " How about you honey?" He leaned forward on the table and turned to his left

to look at her face but she can't seem to look at him.

"I'm good too." she replied.

"We'll just call you if we need anything else. Thanks." he told the waiter who just nodded.

"So where did you go?" he casually asked Eve.

"At the supermarket. I had to do some grocery shopping."

Nick nodded before turning to her. "Did you buy anything honey?"

This time she has to raise her eyes to him.He is looking at her intently while he holds her hand.

GOSH! He smells so good! She thought.

Then they heard Eve's phone ringing so she excused herself. Her fiance Lance is calling.

Now that they are left alone, she feels more nervous. She's thankful that he didn't let Eve notice that he

is fuming.

"You know that later we have to really talk .Right honey?" his icy tone is back .

She just nodded

"We talked on the phone more than 20 minutes ago and you said that you are here, right?"

"Y-Yes."

"I am just wondering why you just ordered if you have been here for 20 minutes."

She swallowed.

"Why can't you look at me honey? Is there something that I should know?" he asked icily.

"W-Well...I-I.." She wasn't able to continue because Eve came back to the table.

"Sorry! Lance just asked something. Oh here comes our coffee!"

She was saved by the bell for now and she almost sighed. She is planning to tell Nick that Blake was

with them but of course she won't say anything about his shelling shrimps for her.

"What did you ladies have for lunch?" he asked them.

"Seafood." came Eve's quick answer.

Nick nodded and leaned his back on his chair. He placed his arm on the back of her seat.

He took a sip of his coffee first. "So you like seafood honey?"

"So -so. "

Eve's eyes are on them while she stirs her coffee. "Nick, I hope you don't mind. Can I ask you

something?"

" It's okay. What is it?" He asked and he sounds more relaxed.

In a casual voice her friend asked, "How many girlfriends have you had?"

"None."

She felt his fingers touched her left shoulder.

Eve's eyes widened. " No way....."

He chuckled. "I have never been in a serious relationship. Stacey and I talked about that already. You

can ask her." he suggested. He is now kneading her shoulder which she finds arousing.

"Hmm..you are a perfect match then! Stacey hasn't had any boyfriend yet."

"I know." he agreed with a sexy smile as he looks at her and she just rolled her eyes.

"Excuse me. I have to go to the powder room." she told them before getting up, Nick stood up from his

seat too,

"I'll go with you honey." he offered.

"No Ni--.. I mean no honey. You don't have to." She almost forgot that she mustn't call him by his name.

Eve cleared her throat while Nick nodded with satisfaction . She glared at her friend who is grinning

from ear to ear.

"Eve will come with me. Let's go Eve." she said with a saccharine smile .

"Sure ! I need a break from too much sweetness on this table anyway!" she joked.

He sat down again with a small smile on his lips. His anger seemed to have diminished. His threat

about kissing her if she calls him by his name instead of honey is very effective.. He grinned. His

presence obviously affects Stacey physically.

Good! At least the feeling is now mutual. He told himself.

He can't wait for them to be alone later. He took a sip of his coffee. But something caught his eye when

he turned to the window. He recognized the man who got into a car. It's Eve's cousin.

He put his cup down with a thud . "Fucking hell!" he cursed before standing up angrily.
