HIS TRUE BEAUTY

She frowned and opened her lips to reply but a whistle sounded from outside.

Before I could ask Jessi, what’s going on out there, Bruno came out of the bathroom.

“Bruno how was your night honey?”Jessi asked .

“Thanks to you for helping me up”he replied, slowly.

“Oh it’s nothing”Jessi replied.

I stared at him, he didn’t even meet my stare, I looked away sadly. He wore a vest and sweat pants.

“You look good”.

Jessi complimented.

He didn”t say a word and left the room.

Jessi immediately turned to me.

“What’s up with the both of you, before you were fighting like cat and rat, but now you hardly look in the eyes , are you shy, did anything happen lastnight?”Jessi pestered me with her questions.

“Nothing happened okay!”I snapped getting fed up.

“Jeez why are you so fired up, something is definitely wrong…apologize to him”

The whistle sounded again interrupting her.

“I think the game is about to start , come on get that fat ass up, let’s go”.

Jessi took my hands and dragged me up.

We both stepped out of the room, heading to the place for the morning workout.

The manager Ferd and his roommate were the first to get into the game.

It’s going to be a running competition , the loser will be shot with our water guns and then we will take pics to tease him or her after the trip.

Sounds all fun right?

Except if you are going to be bodyshamed instead.

I have always lost to my roomies for the past three years, since I’ve been working with the company, I guess it’s another bad day for me, starting with mockery.

Now it’s Jessie and Kathy’s turn to race, no doubt Jessi is going to win.

Kathy was just kathy.. walk-ing, like she would always call it, unbothered.

After the race , they all messed her up with water guns and pics were taken.

Someone like her will look even sexier I’m a couple of pictures taken unaware, with her body wet.

I didn’t care to join them because I knew, I would be the next in line.

“Where is Bruno, it’s you guys turn”.

Jessi told me , filling up her water gun.

“I don’t what to play anymore games”

I whispered.

“Don’t be such a baby, it makes our trip fun, come one, I am sure Bruno will be easy on you”she laughed.

Jessi is such a pain.

Just then those crazy models started screaming in excitement, I turned and realized that , Bruno’s out for the game, that’s why the noise.

We got to the line.

I stole a glance at him but he didn’t look at me, just looked determined to destroy me, so focused , he completely ignored my presence.

The whistle was blown, I started running with all my strength, yet I was very far behind Bruno.

The laughter from our colleagues worsened the situation

“Fatty!”Kathy yelled out

“She has a name, Idiot!”

I heard Jessi’s clap back.

**JESSI’S POV**

Poor Beauty, she’s really giving her best, and those girls , they should shut up for crying out loud.

Beauty will definitely cry if she lose to Bruno, and that will give them more reason to laugh at her.

Just then she slipped and fell.

I covered my face shamefully, I can’t stand it.

A thunderous laughter broke out but she was really determined, she got and continued.

Bruno looked back for the first time after hearing the laughter.

Then it wasn’t a slip, he intentionally hit his leg on the floor, but I don’t think that heavy fall was intentional.

“Ouch!!”

I snapped with my eyes dimmed.

Beauty ran pass him and won the game.

Everywhere was quite, the disappointment was very high on their faces.

“Why did you fall , sir Bruno!”

His crazy fan girls cried out.

“The ground must have been slippery, there no way he lost to that fatty”.

Another said.

Bruno lay on the floor there, his eyes closed.

We all rushed to him and shoot out water guns on him where he was laid down, breathless.

He covered his face with his hands, chuckling. I noticed his bruised knee.

Wait am I the only one who noticed he intentionally did that for Beauty to win?

Maybe not, Kathy was fuming at him, I guess she saw it was intentional too.

Beauty stared at us breathlessly from where she was seated, she was looking proud.

She took a sachet of glucose and licked a good quantity.

After the whole stuff , everyone of us went back to prepare for the tour.

The bus arrived and we were informed to speed up our preparations.

Bruno got up and started leaping.

Beauty went to him and offered a hand, I stared at them as he rejected her offer to help and tried to get up by himself, Beauty looked sad.

I walked towards them.

“Bea, get dressed up , I will help him with the first aid”.

She nodded and went back to their room.

**BEAUTY’S POV**

We got to the place , everyone looked excited, well except me.

Bruno been quite cold towards me, and sometimes I felt like crying out loud, I wondered why I am this afffected by him recently.

I damped off the tear struggling to get out of my eyes, with my finger and followed behind

We walked into the woods and got to a beautiful site, the director suggested that we take few shots here.

The models were attended to by the makeup artists. I prepared my design for my model to wear.

The photographers set their stuffs and director looked out for a good background ad angle.

The atmosphere was friendly and the trees in here were enchanting, I admired every one of them.

“I can’t find my baby!”

“You have a child?”

Jessi asked almost annoyed.

Everyone of us well except for Jessi looked at her worried, paying attention to what she want was about to say.

“He’s a sweet baby , please help me find my baby”she cried more.

It made me uncomfortable seeing her like that, she was a great woman but none of us has seen this baby of hers, so we stood completely confused.

“Her pet is a chicken”.

One of her servants cleared us.

“Ooohhhh, so sorry”.

Others chorused.

“We will help get your baby back”I hugged and consoled her.

“Who keeps a chicken for a pet! Some of the wild animal must have used it for breakfast”Jessi snapped with a sneer.

“That’s a rude remark Jessi, this woman been kind towards us”I whispered.

She rolled her eyes.

“Don’t worry ma’am everyone of us will help to search for your baby”

Ferd assured Lola.

“Crew let’s start the search”

The director instructed.

“Let’s divide in twos , the roommate duo, will go together”.

We all agreed, even though I only mumbled in agreement.

We walked and searched the bushes in silence. I was getting pretty nervous and seriously pissed about the fact that he made up his mind to pretend I don’t exist.

I got to a thicker side of the forest, unknown to me there’s a huge hole there but the leaves covered it, I took a step and fell into it.

A loud scream escaped from my mouth. I kept sliding down the hole, I was so scared and started crying out loudly in horror.

“Beauty!”
