Chapter 1116: Being Happy for Her

Ryan personally escorted Yanis and Zane to the door.

"Uncle Baxter, you go in. We're heading back," Yanis greeted Ryan before getting into the car.

Ryan nodded, "Sure, drive safely."

Ryan watched Yanis and Zane leave before turning back inside. He headed straight to the second floor

and, upon opening the door, immediately noticed Madison crying.

"What's going on?" Ryan walked a few steps closer, standing by the bed and looking at Madison. "Did

Yanis say something?"

Madison grabbed Ryan's hand, her voice trembling as she spoke, "Yanis... Yanis is pregnant."

Upon hearing Madison's words, Ryan was both surprised and quickly smiled, saying, "That's great

news."

"Yes, it's great news. I'm happy for her," Madison replied, her voice filled with emotion.

Ryan comforted Madison, "Alright, it's a good thing."

Madison nodded, but she still struggled to control her emotions.

Ryan sat by the bedside, chatting with Madison for a while until she calmed down. He then left the

room and went downstairs.

Sitting on the couch, Ryan, an occasional smoker, lit a cigarette and contemplated for a while before

dialing Ivan's number.

However, the call went straight to voicemail.

Meanwhile, Yanis was on the phone with Ivan, candidly informing him about Madison's situation.

After listening to Yanis, Ivan didn't respond immediately. He paused for a few seconds before saying, "I

understand."

"When are you planning to come back?" Yanis asked directly.

Ivan replied, "Day after tomorrow."

Yanis didn't press further and simply agreed, "Alright, we'll talk when you're back." Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

"Sure."

Surprisingly, Ivan didn't engage in small talk with Yanis this time. After discussing Madison's situation,

he hung up without further ado.

After ending the call, Yanis let out a sigh.

Zane gently held Yanis's hand, trying to soothe her, "Don't worry."

Yanis returned the gesture, gripping Zane's hand and whispering, "She doesn't know how long she can

hold on."

"Why not go to the hospital in this situation?" Zane asked.

Yanis had discussed this with Ryan earlier, but he had mentioned that Madison didn't want to go to the

hospital. It was a situation where everyone understood the outcome, and being in a hospital would only

prolong the agony.

In the end, staying at home would spare Madison from further suffering. So, Ryan had decided to bring

her back home.

After hearing Yanis's explanation, Zane didn't push the matter further.

It was close to 10 PM when they returned to D-King Castle. Yanis took a shower and headed straight to

bed. Zane, on the other hand, dealt with a few urgent emails in his study before finally getting ready for

bed.

As Zane lay down, Yanis snuggled up to him like an octopus.

Zane reached out and held her, asking, "Can't sleep?"

"Can't sleep," Yanis replied as she nuzzled against Zane's chest. Then she added, "Actually, I fell

asleep earlier, but I had a bad dream and woke up. Now I can't sleep again."

Zane lightly patted Yanis's back to soothe her, "It's alright, I'm here."

Yanis murmured in response, burrowing into Zane's embrace. "Let's sleep."

Zane didn't pry further about her dream, respecting her decision not to share. Since he was there by

her side, Yanis quickly drifted off to sleep.

Throughout the night, her dreams were a chaotic mix.

When Yanis woke up in the morning, she felt as if she had fought a battle all night, utterly exhausted.

Zane was nowhere to be seen by her side.

Feeling a bit dazed, Yanis sat on the bed for a while before getting up. She went to the bathroom to

freshen up and then went downstairs.

To her surprise, Zane was not in the living room either. She furrowed her brows in puzzlement. If Zane

hadn't specifically said he was taking the day off from work yesterday, she wouldn't have bothered

looking for him. However, he had indeed mentioned that he would stay home with her today.

Hence, Yanis's initial intention was to find him.

"Aunt Alice," Yanis called out.

Soon, Aunt Alice peered out from the kitchen. "Mrs. Lawrence, you're up?"

Yanis nodded and asked softly, "Where's Zane? Did he go out?"

Aunt Alice hesitated for a moment, "Mr. Lawrence was in the living room just now. I'm not sure if he

left."

Yanis nodded and was about to dial Zane's number when she noticed Zane entering from the side.

Seeing him, Yanis put down her phone and looked at him. "Where did you go?"

"I was in the backyard for a while," Zane came over and stood in front of Yanis. "Why not get some

more sleep?"

Yanis had slept restlessly the previous night, clutching his clothes tightly in her dream. Zane had barely

slept, lightly patting Yanis throughout the night.

By morning, Yanis had finally slept soundly, but Zane found himself not needing much sleep. He got up

from bed early.

"Awake," Yanis said, her gaze on Zane. "What were you doing in the backyard?"

Zane was covered in dirt, looking somewhat disheveled.

"I tidied up the backyard a bit. Once the weather cools down a bit more, you can sit out there," Zane

explained.

Autumn was a nice time for

the backyard. Yanis used to take care of it, but it had been neglected since their dispute. Flowers and

plants had withered.

So today, Zane planned to fix it up. When the weather was cooler, Yanis could sit out there, enjoying

the flowers and having some tea-a peaceful and pleasant idea.

Yanis chuckled softly. "Need any help?"

Zane shook his head. "I asked Allan and Mitch to help."

Then he paused. "Reed will come later. You two can chat, make it less dull."

Yanis hadn't heard from Mitch or Reed about coming over today. Hearing it from Zane, she nodded in

agreement. "Let Aunt Alice and Aunt Gloria make shrimp dumplings later. I've been wanting them since

yesterday."

Zane agreed, "Sure, I'll let Aunt Alice know later."

With that settled, Zane lifted a strand of hair from Yanis's forehead. "Go have your breakfast. I'm going

out for a bit but will be back soon."

Looking at Zane, Yanis inquired, "What are you going out for?"

"Buying some flowers. They can deliver them later and plant them," Zane explained.

Yanis couldn't help but smile. "You won't buy potted plants and have them delivered with pots?"

"Oh, right, I'll check it out," Zane said as he started unbuttoning his shirt. "How about you come with

me?"
