Chapter 1139: But I Just Want Her
Zane returned to the hotel and first escorted Anthony to his room. "You good on your own?"
Anthony lay on the bed and waved at Zane. "Go tend to your wife. Go be a family man."
Zane had been about to leave, but seeing Anthony's drunken state, he turned back and pulled him
towards the center of the bed. "Call room service if you need anything."
Anthony muttered something, too slurred for Zane to make out. He just kept waving his hand at Zane.
Zane stood by the bed for a few seconds, then left without saying much. Though Anthony had
consumed a fair amount of alcohol and seemed a bit drunk, his mind was relatively clear. He
experienced moments when his actions felt a bit uncontrollable.
After Zane departed, Anthony fumbled to sit up, pausing for a while on the bed before reaching for his
phone.
Hiruma had been coerced into blind dates by his family during this period and ended up tagging along
with Anthony to Manchester City to escape. When Anthony called, Hiruma happened to be wandering
aimlessly through the night market out of boredom.
Answering Anthony's call, Hiruma's voice came through, "Anthony?"
"Where are you?"
Hiruma could tell from Anthony's tone that he was definitely drinking. He quickly headed towards where
he had parked. "I'm getting back now. Are you in the room?"
Anthony hummed in response. "Bring some hangover remedies. I drank a bit too much tonight."
Hiruma replied, "Sure, I'll be there in about half an hour. Should you rest for a while?"
"Yeah."
Anthony hung up and sat on the bed, scrolling through his phone for a bit. He found Sandy's chat,
which was still at their last conversation when they made plans for dinner.
Since then, there had been no contact, no meeting, until today.
His finger rested on Sandy's profile picture, and he hesitated for a moment before tapping on it. The
photo showed a picture of Sandy and Brandon together.
In that instant, Anthony gazed at Sandy's smiling face in the picture, feeling a twinge of shock.
And a bit of regret that he hadn't saved a copy of Sandy's photo.
He remained seated on the bed, staring at the clear image of the two in the photo for a long time before
finally tapping the back button.
By the time Hiruma arrived, Anthony's drunkenness had subsided a bit.
"Why did you take so long?" Anthony opened the door for Hiruma and let him in.
Hiruma placed the things he'd bought on the table. "You mentioned wanting hangover remedies. I got
some. Traffic was heavy on the way back, so I was delayed a bit."
Having finished speaking, Hiruma turned to Anthony. "How much did you drink?"
"Not much." Anthony slouched onto the sofa lazily. "I get drunk when I'm in a bad mood. Even a little
makes me tipsy."
Hiruma didn't refute Anthony's explanation. He understood Anthony's mood wasn't good.
"Anthony, why bother?" Hiruma handed Anthony a cigarette. "Wherever you go, you..."
"But I just want her."
Hiruma's words were cut off as Anthony preemptively interrupted him, smoothly shifting the
conversation. "The hangover remedy you bought?"
Hiruma nodded. "Yeah, do you need it now?"
Anthony hummed.
Hiruma got up to fetch a glass of water for Anthony, then opened the package and handed him the
medicine. "Take this and get some rest. Be fresh for tomorrow." Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
After Anthony took the remedy, he turned to Hiruma. "What about you? Are you going to upstage the
groom tomorrow?"
Hiruma chuckled. "If you can make the bride run away with you, then you're impressive."
Anthony raised his hand and playfully slapped Hiruma's head. "What nonsense are you spouting?"
Hiruma rubbed the spot Anthony had hit. "I wasn't spouting nonsense."
Anthony raised an eyebrow, his tone lighter. "Hiruma, she doesn't like me."
Hiruma was about to say something, but he held back at the last moment, his words stuck on his
tongue. "Then, should I join you for a couple of drinks?"
Anthony glanced at him. "How's the task I asked you to do?"
Hiruma nodded. "When have I not completed a task properly? Everything's arranged. Miss Thompson's
wedding will surely be impressive."
Anthony acknowledged, "Good. I'm going to freshen up and sleep. You can stay here tonight. I'm afraid
I'll oversleep in the morning."
Hiruma agreed. "Sure, go get ready."
Anthony got up and headed into the bathroom.
Watching Anthony's figure, Hiruma sighed silently and lay down on the sofa, picking up a book and
engaging in idle chatter with his brother through the phone.
When the topic turned to Anthony, Hiruma gradually lost interest. After all these years of being by
Anthony's
side, he understood Anthony's personality and temperament well.
When Anthony fell for someone, it was with his whole heart.
"Anthony."
As the sound of running water filled the room, Hiruma called out loudly.
Perhaps due to the water noise, Anthony seemed not to have heard Hiruma.
Curious, Hiruma got up and walked to the bathroom door. He wanted to call out, but just as the words
formed, he heard a faint, suppressed sound from inside.
Frowning, Hiruma stood at the door for a few seconds, but ultimately stayed silent and returned to the
sofa. Putting on his earphones, he closed his eyes.
Before he knew it, he had drifted off listening to the audio, not realizing when Anthony had come out of
the bathroom.
When Hiruma woke up, he found Anthony standing in front of the bathroom mirror, intently arranging
his hair. Anthony looked energetic and spirited.
"Anthony?" Hiruma rubbed his eyes and called out.
Anthony turned to face Hiruma. "You awake? How's this outfit?"
Hiruma made a thumbs-up gesture sincerely. "Impressive!"
Anthony glanced at him. "Go freshen up, then we'll head over together."
Hiruma got up from the sofa. "Am I going with you?"
"Yesterday, Sandy said I should bring you along."
Hiruma smirked. "Alright, let me fix up. I won't let you down, Anthony."
Anthony couldn't be bothered to reply to Hiruma's words. He walked to the side and sat down, ordering
breakfast service.
After sharing breakfast in their room, they finally made their way to the wedding venue.
