Chapter 478 Keep the Cold War
"Aren't you going to sleep?"
"I'll sit there for a while to see if Larry performs badly."
He lowered his head and lit a cigarette.
Harper could tell that he was in a bad mood, smoking and drinking. Since she was pregnant, he would hardly touch these in front of her.
Harper stood there without moving, staring at him constantly. The atmosphere was very quiet, as if they could clearly hear each other's breathing.
Benjamin looked at her through the white smoke, "Why don't you go in and sleep?"
"Benjamin, are you angry with me?"
"How come?"
He responded calmly.
The answer is not very definite "no", but "how come".
Isn't this angry?
Harper pursed her lips, lowered her eyes and whispered, "I have said many times that I do not have any feelings for Frank and there will never be any, whether before, now or in the future." "Are you so sure of something that hasn't happened yet?"
He smiled softly, with sarcasm between his eyebrows.
She stared at him expressionlessly and said word by word, "Some things have already had results even if they haven't happened yet. If there was anything, I think it would have happened long ago."
"So for the ex-boyfriend you will never forget, you won't even show any affection to your best male friend Frank too?"
The words "ex-boyfriend" flashed through Benjamin's heart like a biting cold wind. A hidden emotion disturbed his heartstrings, giving him an indescribable and inexplicable feeling.
Harper stood there, frowning slightly. She really didn't understand how he could mention so-called "ex-boyfriend".
Did he care so much about this "ex-boyfriend" she made up?
As it turned out, even if a man doesn't love his wife, he won't allow her to hide other men in her heart.
Harper didn't explain much. After all, it was just a virtual existence, so why bother saying more?
She just said, "Benjamin, everyone has their own difficulties and unspeakable reasons. Just like you did to Lauren. You said you don't love her, but it doesn't affect your preference for her. You have your reasons. I have too." These words made Benjamin laugh coldly and said, "Have you finished talking about your difficulties? If you're done, go back to your room and sleep." He didn't want to hear another word from this woman.
He was really worried that he would lose control of his emotions and strangle her to death.
He didn't look at her again. After stubbing out the cigarette butt, he lay down on the sofa. He closed his eyes, and his behaviors were clearly telling Harper that he didn't want to have any communication with her. Harper looked at him for a long time, then returned to the room.
The two people inside had quarreled unhappily, and the two people outside the house were silent throughout the whole process without any word.
Larry leaned against the wall and fell asleep, while Annie sat at the door holding his knees and staring at him.
The night passed quickly, and Benjamin got up just as the dawn breaking.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
He didn't sleep much. He got up, washed and changed his clothes, and then went out without even entering the bedroom.
Annie woke up when she heard the door open, and she looked at Benjamin.
He said, "You can go back, I'll call someone to take him away."
Annie stood up and responded softly, "OK, thank you."
"You're welcome."
His face was expressionless.
Annie felt that Benjamin and Harper were having a conflict last night, so she asked, "What happened between you and Harper?"
He glanced at her lightly and did not answer the question, but just asked, "I will take Larry away for you and promise that he will not come again without your permission. How about you tell me an answer?" Annie's brain was racing. The answer Benjamin asked for must have something to do with Harper. So what did he found about Harper?
