Chapter 137 I Am The Culprit

Jackson was almost roaring, making both Derek and Selina tremble with fear.

Selina looked at Jackson's eyes, the anger and despair emerged in his eyes made her want to burst

into tears. Yes, it was destined that the Chu family would be the inveterate enemy of the An family

forever as a result of what had happened long ago. She had heard from her brother that Stephen had

come back for Jackson five years ago. Even if Jackson did not take any action against him, he would

do that to Jackson one day, and now...

Selina suddenly understood what Jackson had done all alone. The reason why he held vengeance

against Stephen was that he didn't want any accident to happen. No one had the ability to predict what

would happen next second.

Selina did not say a word, and it was the same with Derek.

Jackson spun around slowly, turned his back on Derek and Selina.

"Derek, Selina, I can accept it if she doesn't understand me. But how can you not understand me as

well?" There was no rage in Jackson's voice now, unlike before.

It seemed that Derek wanted to say something. He began to move his lips but eventually didn't say it

out loud.

Selina broke into sobs. She came close to Jackson and pulled at his clothes, pleading like a child,

"Jackson, I'm so sorry about this."

Jackson continued to look straight ahead and kept silent.

"Jackson, I just don't want to see you two apart. I appreciate Cherry very much and I love her nature

too. You don't know how much I wish you to be together happily. I'll be very delighted when that

happens. Please listen to me, " said Selina firmly and her eyes showed that she was very serious.

At the same moment, Derek approached Selina and put his arm around her shoulders. Then he turned

to Jackson and said, "Yeah, Jackson, our sister-in-law is really nice. You must keep her at you side."

Hearing these words from Derek and Selina, Jackson was a bit touched. He turned slightly around and

looked at Derek, then he turned his gaze to Selina, who still had tears?running down?her?cheeks.

Jackson softly said, "Don't worry. She is still my wife."

Derek smiled when he heard what Jackson was saying. And Selina's face relaxed as well.

"You are a grown woman. You shouldn't cry like this. Don't you know how ugly you look right now?"

joked Jackson.

Selina suddenly hit him like a small child, and said, "You grew up with me. You know that I'm just as

ugly as I was before."

"It doesn't matter if you are ugly or not. Just take care of the JS Group well for me, " said Jackson

finally with a smile on his face.

"Don't worry, that comes very easily to me, " replied Selina happily.

After a while, something suddenly occurred to Selina's mind. She looked up at Jackson and said, "Well,

Jackson, do we still need to acquire the Anshi Group now?"

This question made Jackson's now relaxed expression get tensed again in a matter of seconds.

Thinking about it for a while, Jackson said, "She will get really sad if we acquire the Anshi Group. But if

we don't do that, we will be planting a bomb under our own feet."

As Derek heard Jackson's words, he responded, "Jackson, how about you tell my sister-in-law what

actually happened that year. She may understand the reason why you did what you had to do, if she

knows the context."

Jackson shook his head, "No, I'm afraid that she would be even more hurt. After all, she has a good

relationship with Stephen now. I can't ensure that Stephen would do nothing bad to her."

Derek and Selina contemplated a little about it in their heads and finally neither of them spoke a word.

Much later, Jackson finally gave the verdict, "Do not acquire the Anshi Group for the moment."

Both Derek and Selina were amazed at Jackson's decision. They looked at each other and Selina

immediately turned to Jackson and said, "If we don't acquire the Anshi Group right now, there may not

be another chance for us in the future."

"She's right, Jackson, there will never be such a great opportunity in the future like this one, absolutely

not! Now that you have got control over the Future Project, just take the opportunity and acquire the

Anshi Group while you can. Then Stephen will no longer be powerful." Derek declared beside them.

Seeing that Jackson did not reply for a long time, Selina got anxious, "Jackson, do you know that you

will be raising a killer next to you if you do that?"

"But I don't want to lose her, " said Jackson abruptly. There was nothing more important to his heart

than Cherry. He had waited for her for five years, and now that she had come back, how could he push

her away?

Selina and Derek lost any words that were brewing in their minds. They knew it perfect well that

Jackson would choose Cherry over everything else. Even if his choice could bring danger for himself,

he would still choose her.

Selina lowered her head and said no more words.

Derek thought for a moment and then said to Selina, "We can announce to the public that we do not

Selina didn't give any response to Derek, and just turned around and left.

Getting out of Jackson's home, Selina drove back to the JS building. While in the elevator, she tried her

best to plaster a smile on her face as she did not want to show her turmoil to Cherry.

When she came to the office area, she found Cherry busy at work in front of her desk. It seemed that

Caroline was not there. She might have gone out.

Seeing that Selina had come back, Cherry stood up immediately and respectfully said, "Miss Selina,

you are back!"

Selina smiled, "Yes, just continue with your work."

"All right, " Cherry replied politely. Not until Selina walked into her office did Cherry sit down and

continue with her work.

After a busy afternoon, Cherry finally looked at the time and found out that she could leave from work

now. But she remembered that there was still something left to finish, so she decided to stay there to

finish it as it was okay to leave a little later. Then she began to check some data online.

Cherry opened some web pages and started searching for relevant news on the bankruptcy of the

Shen Group. She wanted to see if she could track down Harrison.

After a while, Selina picked her handbag and walked out from her office room. She noticed that Cherry

had not left yet. So she walked towards Cherry and asked, "Cherry, are you still busy with work? Why

haven't you left yet?"

"Oh, no. I have finished my work already. But there are still some personal things for me to deal with, "

said Cherry still in her seat as she didn't stand up.

Selina saw that Cherry's gaze was still fixed at the computer screen. It appeared that she was

searching for something. As long as it was a personal affair, Selina thought that perhaps she would be

able to help Cherry to some extent.

"What's it that you are looking for? Maybe I can help you, " offered Selina.

Cherry looked up to her and since she had no plan to keep it from her, she said, "I want to search on

the news about the Shen Group to find my father."

"Your father?" Selina was a bit surprised. Eventually, the Shen Group, Harrison Shen and Cherry Shen

came to her mind. And she remembered that it had been Jackson's direct order to acquire the Shen

Group, so...

Cherry nodded to Selina and said, "Yes, Harrison is my father."

Selina couldn't help but step two paces back, her face shocked with amazement.

"Miss Selina, what's wrong?" Cherry got confused looking at Selina's expression and immediately

stood up. She observed Selina carefully, as she thought perhaps Selina was not feeling well.

Still looking at Cherry, Selina did not answer her question, but said instead, "Cherry, the thing that

happened with the Shen Group is..."

Cherry stopped her before she could finish her words.

"I know it was Jackson who did it. Stephen has already told me, " said Cherry peacefully. She could

stand the horror of the news now.

Selina shook her head and said, "Cherry, in fact, as far as the bankruptcy of the Shen Group is

concerned, it was me who did that."
