Chapter 176 Please Forgive Me, My Daughter

Chapter 176 Please Forgive Me, My Daughter

Jackson drove his car to the JS Group at full speed, with his mind a total mess.

He thought, 'Cherry, what the hell is happening here?

Do we really have a son together? Why didn't you tell me about him?

Cherry, how could you dare to hide him from me!'

At that same time, Cherry was in a huge warehouse looking at an old man who was standing not that

far away from her. He was trying to move a box with great efforts.

Cherry's eyes filled with tears when she saw him. She stood there for a while just staring at him, but

because the man was so busy with his work, he didn't even notice her for a second.

"Dad!" suddenly shouted Cherry.

Harrison vaguely heard someone's voice, and thought, 'I'm always working here alone. Who could

possibly also be here at this hour?'

He stopped his work and then gazed towards the entrance.

When he recognized the familiar figure, he started to shiver uncontrollably. He moved his lips and

wanted to say something, but his throat was too dry to even utter a single word.

Cherry then slowly walked closer to him and saw the wrinkles on his face and the dirty clothes he wore.

She could hardly believe that the man in front of her was really her father Harrison Shen. He had used

to be a decent and respectable man, but who would have ever imagined that he would become like

that?

"Why, why, why are you here?" astoundedly asked Harrison.

"Dad, I came here to see you, " replied Cherry, with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Harrison felt very sad when he saw his daughter crying. He dropped his gaze to avoid eye contact with

her, and said, "Let's get out of this messy place." Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

Cherry didn't say anything, and instead turned around and walked towards the exit.

Then they sat on some chairs outside and had their first talk after years of separation.

Harrison curiously asked, "When did you come back to the city? I heard that you vanished completely,

and that even Jackson wasn't able to find you." He still had his head lowered, and still felt awkward to

look at Cherry when he talked with her, because he hadn't forgotten about anything that had happened

in the past.

"I've been back for some time already, but before that I lived with my mom abroad, " replied Cherry.

Harrison felt even worse in his soul when he heard Cherry mention about her mother. He asked,

"How's your mother now?"

"She's fine, and Uncle Jacob has treated us well, " said Cherry.

"Right, she couldn't be less than fine, because Jacob is a good man, " said Harrison, whose heart had

suddenly flooded with sadness, "Silly me."

Cherry felt sorry for him when she saw how depressed he was. She asked, "Dad, why are you working

here? Where's Aunt Jade? Even if the Shen Group is bankrupt, you shouldn't be reduced to live like

this."

The only thing that was beyond Cherry's understanding was how her father had managed to fall so low.

Considering the great influence that the Shen Group had in the past, Harrison should have led a simple

life, but he instead toiled like a slave.

He bowed his head, and thought, 'She's my daughter, my own flesh and blood. There's no need for me

to conceal anything from her, ' He decided to tell her everything.

"Jade divorced me and took away all my savings with her, without even leaving a penny for me. I asked

my friends for help, but they had all benefited from Jade and obeyed her words, so none of them were

willing to help me, " said Harrison in a weary and low voice.

Cherry listened to his words and could only imagine how he had been mistreated by Jade.

Harrison continued, "Since your sister had gotten into trouble, Jade started to become restless at home

and said that she would avenge your sister. She had planned to hire someone to murder you, but

because everyone knew that you were married into the Chu Clan, nobody agreed to help her. That's

why she couldn't hurt you."

Cherry listened and gradually took in Harrison's words.

"Then you left, and I heard that Jackson had searched throughout the whole city but still couldn't find

you. Jade gradually calmed down and didn't mention about you anymore, " said Harrison, "But then the

Shen Group went bankrupt and she started to get mad. When I wasn't watching, she took away with

her all the savings, sold the house, the car, and all the other valuable things we had."

Harrison kept his head lowered so that Cherry couldn't see the expression on his face. Instead, she

could feel the sadness vibrating in his tone.

Cherry suddenly took a deep breath and then grabbed Harrison's rough and dirty hands, and said,

"Dad, Jackson was the one who destroyed the Shen Group. He did that because he hated me for

leaving him. Will you hate me for that?"

Harrison slowly raised his head and looked at Cherry. He slowly shook his head, and said, "How could I

ever hate you? I just wish that you wouldn't hate me."

Cherry didn't know what to say next. She knew that nobody was happy to talk about the past.

She suddenly asked, "Dad, do you know what happened to my sister?"

Harrison earnestly answered, "Wasn't she murdered by someone when she was in a night club?"

Cherry stared at Harrison and couldn't utter a word.

He continued, "Maybe she felt pressured after she divorced John, and that's why she went to those

nightclubs. There, she was eventually murdered by someone."

Cherry shook her head, and firmly said, "No, she's still alive."

"Really?" Harrison couldn't believe his ears.

Cherry nodded. She stared at Harrison, and seriously said, "Dad, I'm not sure about what happened to

her. Because Emily had passed away, and Jackson had been haunted by Sally at that time, I didn't

have time to be concerned about my sister, but Jackson told me that she's still alive, and I believe him.

I believe in Jackson's words."

A glimmer of hope then sparked in Harrison's heart. Although he hadn't known Jackson very well and

wasn't familiar with him, he knew that his words were reasonable.

Cherry continued, "After I have dealt with the things I should do, I'll go and search for my sister."

Harrison looked at her, and asked, "But Cherry, don't you hate your sister?"

Cherry didn't know how to reply to that question.

After she thought for a while, she said, "I hate her, yes. But even so, she's still a member of the Shen

Clan, and she's still my sister, that's a fact that will never change. Although she hurt me deeply in the

past, our blood ties can never be cut."

When Harrison heard her words, he felt very sorry in his heart for everything that he had done in the

past. He regretted that he hadn't discovered his daughter's innocent soul earlier.

They then continued to chat with each other for a long time.

Before Cherry left she took out some money from her handbag and put it in Harrison's hand. She then

said, "Dad, you can find a better job than this, and you can also find a better place to live. I can't help

you with too much now, but after I deal with my matters I'll help you settle somewhere nice."

Cherry was very happy to have met with her father again, but that wasn't the most important matter that

she had to deal with. She hadn't properly handled her relationship with Jackson, and also hadn't told

him about Joe's existence. These matters were more important for her, and she had to face them

alone.

Harrison lowered his head and again fell into silence.

Cherry then stood up from her seat and was about to leave.

"Cherry!" suddenly called Harrison. He slowly stood up and looked at Cherry.

Cherry stopped in her tracks but didn't turn around.

"Please forgive me, my daughter!" cried Harrison, with tears welling from his eyes.

When she heard him, Cherry couldn't help herself but to burst out crying. Had he finally realized that

she was his daughter, the same as Jean? Did he finally see how bad he had hurt her feelings in the

past?
