Chapter 769 Helping Roger Out (Part One)

Chapter 769 Helping Roger Out (Part One)

Surprised by Violet's reaction, Roger looked at her and asked,"Are you acquaintances?"

"Yes," Violet said,"We've met before."

"I have asked about him and tried to get in touch with him, but he's quite prudent, and I didn't even get

a chance to meet him personally, let alone persuade him to invest in GR Group," Roger said. It wasn't

easy to schedule a meeting with the elusive Francis.

Violet pondered for a while and said,"Roger, Do you know where he is now? I can probably go and

meet him. I will try and convince him to help and invest in GR Group."

"Violet, but..." Roger was worried. Wheeling-and-dealing in the business field is common. Besides,

They didn't know enough about Francis who remains a mystery. It would be risky if Violet did visit

Francis unexpectedly. Roger was not willing to let her do that.

"Don't worry, Francis and I have met before. He will recognize me," Violet said with determination.

Although she was not sure whether she could talk Francis into investing, it was still worth a try.

Violet's resolution touched Roger and he finally agreed. "All right then, I'll give you what we know of

Francis' location. But, Violet, your safety is top priority. Call me if anything happens, okay?"

"Don't worry, I'll be fine," Violet said.

Violet walked out the GR building, with her hand holding a note containing Francis's address, her next

stop for the day. It seemed that she would never get to do her grocery shopping today.

When Violet arrived at the address written on the note, she stepped into the lobby.

She approached the receptionist at the front desk and said,"Hello, I'm here for Mr. Francis An."

"Hello, have you got an appointment with him?" the receptionist grinned at her.

"No, not really. I don't," Violet admitted.

"Then I'm sorry, Mr. An will not be available to see you today," the receptionist said. Francis had

instructed everyone at the front desk to turn down anyone without a scheduled appointment.

"But," Violet did not give up. "My name is Violet Chu and I'm here for an urgent and very important

issue, could you please tell him?"

"Sorry, I'm afraid not." Although Violet did seem to have come with urgency, the receptionist wouldn't

break the rule.

"Please! Just tell him my name. If he says no, then I'll leave immediately." Violet begged the

receptionist. The GR Group was at breaking point and Roger was in trouble, so she really needed to

have this meeting with Francis.

Moved by her pleading, the receptionist said,"All right then. I'll call Mr. An. Please wait here and I will let

you know what he says."

"Thank you!" Violet said immediately. She was glad for the tiny ray of hope.

The receptionist got through to Francis' private line. "Sir, a lady named Violet Chu is here at the

reception and wants to meet with you."

"Violet Chu?" Francis from the other end of the line repeated the name.

"Yes sir, that's what she says her name is," the receptionist confirmed.

"Bring her up." Francis' voice crackled on the phone speaker.

"Got it sir."

After hanging up the phone, the receptionist had a colleague take over her post. Then she turned to

Violet and said,"Please follow with me to Mr. An's office."

"Great! Thank you very much!" Violet immediately replied. She walked behind the receptionist, glad to

finally meet Francis after a while. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

In the spacious office, Violet saw Francis in a navy blue T-shirt, sitting behind his desk. Francis never

took his eyes off her as soon as she had walked in.

"Mr. An, this is Ms. Violet Gu, the one whom I called about earlier," the receptionist said.

"Ok, Thanks. You can go back to your post now," Francis said, still looking at Violet.

Violet watched the receptionist leave before she turned to Francis.

"Well, I..." Somehow, Violet couldn't bring up her purpose straight away.

"How did you know about this place? How did you know that I'm here? Who told you?" Francis asked.

He was curious about the fact that Violet knew where his office was. He also guessed that she knew

his position in this company.

"Roger told me," Violet said without hesitation. She thought that she couldn't lie to Francis, as she

needed his help.

"Roger?" Francis thought deeply as he tried to recall the name and then asked,"Roger Gu?"

"Yes! Roger Gu," Violet said in a crisp voice, nodding.

"Wait for a second." Francis suddenly stood up and asked as he walked towards her,"Let me guess.

Did you come to me in behalf of the GR Group?"

Francis already knew about the GR Group scandal. In fact, it's most likely that everyone in the city

were talking about the GR Group today. Violet, this clumsy woman, said that Roger Gu gave her his

address. It's obvious that she came for the GR Group, because Francis was the only one who can now

save the company.

"Yes, that is correct. I came here for Roger's company. I was hoping that I could get under your good

graces and appeal to you to help the company. Please help the GR Group," Violet pleaded.

"Why should I help you?" Francis asked with his brow raised and waited for her explanation.

Violet didn't answer his question, for she didn't know how. She realized that she was bringing disgrace

upon herself. After all, Francis didn't even know Roger, why should he help Roger? Besides, Violet and

Francis weren't close, let alone familiar with each other, either. They just met twice, awkwardly in front

of the toilet. Even if they were familiar with each other, they were more like enemies, rather than

friends.

There was nothing but silence for a long time.

Violet kept her mouth shut. Francis stared at her, with secret happiness in his heart. He wanted to know

how she was doing. Now, unlike before, she was neither in his dreams nor just in his mind, instead, she

was standing right before him! She just stood there and he could just watch her, silently and serenely.
