Chapter 807 Controlling The Entertainment Business (Part Rwo)

"Lawrence, have you come back home for Violet? You wanted to..." Alice stopped before she could

finish her words.

"Violet is the only person in the world who I have always wanted to protect," said Lawrence in a firm

tone, staring blankly.

Mond kept silent after he heard Lawrence's words. He knew what was going on in Lawrence's mind at

that moment.

"Violet has already gone to Hong Kong, and Greg is sad because of that. He is not leading a normal life

these days. What are you going to do?" asked Alice.

"You'll finally know what I'm going to do," Lawrence blurted out without any hesitation.

"Does Cassie's disappearance have anything to do with you?" asked Mond finally. Even though this

question had kept bothering Alice all the time, she didn't dare ask Lawrence about it.

"Yes," replied Lawrence. He had taken a huge risk but he was prepared to deal with it.

"Do you know that the police have started their investigation?" asked Mond looking worried. If Cassie's

disappearance did have something to do with Lawrence, he would have to discuss it with Derek and

Wilson and figure out a way to keep Lawrence away from this matter. However, before he could make

any decision, he needed to know what Lawrence had done to make her go away.

"Don't worry. Everything is fine," said Lawrence. He had arranged everything well, and he believed that

Helen also knew how to deal with it.

Seeing the confident expression on his face, Mond and Alice looked at each other and didn't know

what else to say.

"Uncle Mond, there is one thing I need to take permission from you," said Lawrence, looking into his

eyes.

"What's the matter? Say it," replied Mond.

"Could you please transfer all the entertainment business of ZM Group to JC Group? In return, I'll give

some real estate projects of JC Group's to you, and the ZM Group won't lose anything on this deal,"

said Lawrence.

"Why do you suddenly want the entertainment business of the ZM Group?" asked Mond puzzled. Most

of the city's entertainment business was under the management of the JC Group, and only a few of

them belonged to the ZM Group. If Lawrence took over the entertainment business of the ZM Group,

the JC Group would control the whole business of entertainment, films, television circle and news

media as well. At present, the JC Group had progressed in foreign countries, and if Lawrence was able

to make some achievements in the film and television circles, there would be no looking back for them.

Mond then went on, "Actually, it's not a problem if you want to transfer all the entertainment business of

ZM Group to JC Group, and I don't want your real estate projects. Anyway, the losses of the

entertainment business will not affect the overall operations of the ZM Group. But Lawrence, I have to

warn you that there are a lot of risks in this business, and you will have to be alert at all times."

"I know everything I'm doing and would be careful in all that I do," replied Lawrence.

Standing next to him, Alice didn't know what Lawrence planned to do, but she was very sure that

something of importance would happen next, which might even affect the whole city.

The three people talked for a long time before Mond stood up and left.

Lawrence and Alice also left the room after that.

When they walked into the hall and were going towards the entrance of the restaurant, Lawrence

suddenly stopped when he saw a show going on in a TV hung on the wall.

The beautiful woman in the pictures was totally different from the shy girl years ago. Seeing her

elaborate makeup and gorgeous dress now, nobody could know that when she was young she was

poor and had a sick mother to take care of.

Alice suddenly understood something when she looked at Lawrence's side face, and she thought she

knew why Lawrence wanted to take over the entertainment business of ZM Group. Was it related to the

star named Rebecca Lin?

Lawrence looked at the charming face of Rebecca, but he didn't feel attracted towards her any more.

Tick. Tick.

Two senconds later, Lawrence quickly walked out of the restaurant.

Alice was taken aback at Lawrence's sudden exit, and she hurriedly followed him.

When Alice sat in Lawrence's car and fastened the seat belt on the passenger seat, she was still

confused about his behavior.

"Lawrence, do you know that actress?" she asked carefully.

"Yes, I know her," answered Lawrence, who didn't want to hide anything from Alice.

Alice nodded and asked again, "Well, she seems to be the reason why you wanted the entertainment

business of the ZM Group, right?"

Lawrence kept silent for a long time.

"She doesn't deserve any of my help," said Lawrence. Actually, Alice was right. She was the reason

why he wanted to have full control over the entertainment business, but that didn't mean that he

wanted to help her.

"Lawrence, it seems that you hate her?" asked Alice when she saw the angry look on his face. Even

though she couldn't look deep into Lawrence's eyes, she sensed his hatred for Rebecca when he said

those words.

"Of course I will hate her if her new TV series can't bring any benefits to the JC Group," replied

Lawrence. He didn't try to hide his feelings. He thought there was no need to pretend in front of Alice.

He didn't care whether she knew about his true feelings for Rebecca.

"Well, I see," Alice nodded and replied. She accepted the reason that Lawrence was giving.

When he realized that Alice didn't want to ask more questions about him and Rebecca, Lawrence

changed the topic. "Has Violet called you recently?"

"Oh, no. Maybe she is still trying to adapt to life in Hong Kong. After all, it's the first time she has left Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

this city. There are a lot of changes she needs to make in her habits and routine," replied Alice.

Lawrence didn't say anything else. Actually, he understood what Alice said because he was worried

about Violet all the time.

With a worried look on her face, Alice then said, "Lawrence, Greg loves Violet so much, and he didn't

mean to hurt her. You know that he has always been kind to Violet ever since they were at school,

right? But some unfortunate changes occurred to them, and that's the reason why they have separated

for the time being."

"Do you think I don't know what happened between them?" replied Lawrence. He always kept a close

eye on Violet, so he knew everything that had happened to her, and he knew Greg also well.

Alice did not know how to respond to Lawrence's question. He was such a powerful man, so he

definitely knew everything about Greg and Violet.

"Lawrence, if you want to take some action to protect Violet, could you please not hurt Greg? Violet will

be very sad if something bad happened to Greg," pleaded Alice.
