Chapter 819 Changing Herself (Part One)

At the Chu Villa in Hong Kong.

Violet shrank in the corner of the sofa with her hands clasping her legs tightly. She held the phone in

her hand and buried her head on her laps. Her shoulders were twitching.

Cherry, who was watching TV, suddenly noticed that her daughter had already stopped talking beside

her. 'Wasn't she talking with her brother just now?' he wondered.

She turned around to look at her daughter. She immediately felt that there was something wrong with

her. 'Her shoulders were apparently twitching. Is she crying?' Cherry asked herself again.

She immediately stood up and walked to the sofa. She sat beside her daughter and put an arm around

her shoulders.

"Violet, what's wrong?" Cherry asked softly. She thought, 'Violet has finally began to feel better recently.

Did something happen at their home again?'

Violet didn't answer. Her head was still buried and she was still crying.

Cherry started to worry but she tried her best to stay calm.

She took her phone out and dialed her son's number.

"Hello, Mom," Lawrence answered the phone immediately.

"Lawrence, did anything happen to our family?" Cherry asked in a rush.

"Why? What's wrong?" Lawrence asked back.

"Violet is crying and I don't know why. What did you say to her?" Cherry asked again seriously.

Lawrence immediately understood what her mother meant. So he said to her patiently, "Mom, we are

fine. I just told Violet something about Greg. Maybe that's the reason why she is crying."

Cherry now understood why. She looked at her daughter. Obviously, she was still in love with that man.

"Okay, I know now," she said to Lawrence.

"Okay, Mom. Please take care of Violet," Lawrence answered. He actually had a lot of things to say to

Cherry but he just didn't know how to begin. All he could do was bury his love for his younger sister

deep inside his heart.

"Okay, I will," Cherry said before she hung up.

She put her hands on her daughter's shoulders again and she said kindly, "Violet, my child, don't cry

anymore. Please, don't cry."

When she heard the gentle voice of her mother, Violet's heart melted. She rested her head on her

mother's shoulder and said, "Mom, I miss Greg. I miss him so much."

Cherry looked in front and said, "How about we go back there? I will accompany you."

Violet shook her head, "No. Dad needs you to be with him."

"But I have to take care of my daughter, too. I can't bear to see you sad," Cherry said. She was torn

between her daughter and her husband. However, she still wanted to show her love to her daughter a

little more.

Violet kept shaking her head. She also looked straight ahead and firmly said, "Mom, I am fine. Although

I miss Greg, I still don't want to go back for now."

Cherry knew her daughter well so she could understand her personality as well as her stubbornness. If

she didn't want to do something, no one could force her to do so.

"Violet?" Cherry called out her name.

"Um?" she answered.

"What's your next plan? I want to hear your thoughts," Cherry inquired. She thought that she had to

listen to her daughter's thoughts if she wanted to help her. She always hoped that her children could

live a happy life, a real happy life. In that case, she would be happy, too.

After contemplating for a long while, Violet said, "Mom, this is my plan."

Cherry prepared to listen intently. Violet started to narrate her plans, "I want to continue learning and

upgrade my educational background. I want to improve myself. I used to feel inferior to others and I

was always afraid of competition because of my scars. Although I have not been decadent, I have been

living in mediocrity. I don't want this kind of life anymore. I want to fight for excellence this time. I am the

daughter of the Chu family, my father is a very powerful man and my mom is very kind. I also have a

smart brother. So, I want to be a talented woman, too. I don't want to have so much achievement but I

Cherry kept silent because she knew that her daughter wasn't done yet.
