Chapter 907 Anna Dou (Part Two)

It was a woman in a blue dress with a perfect body and a curly chestnut hair which was down to her

shoulders. Her legs were long and flawless. She was wearing white glass high heels which gave her a

noble and extremely beautiful look.

"Sorry, do I know you?" Ivy was stunned that the woman approached her so she asked. She stared at

the woman in front of her intently. She thought she was not an ordinary woman. She had a beautiful

face, perfectly shaped eyebrows, and not so long but beautiful eyelashes. She looked charming even

with just a light makeup.

"My name is Anna Dou," The woman introduced herself. Then she raised her glass to take a sip of

wine.

"Hello, nice to meet you," Ivy replied with a smile the moment Anna put down her glass.

However, Anna Dou said impolitely, "Is it nice? I don't see how nice it will go."

Ivy felt awkward for a few seconds because it was her first time to meet someone who greeted her first

then embarrassed her the next minute.

When Anna noticed that Ivy fell silent, she continued, "It's understandable that you've never heard of

me. I have been living abroad for quite a while and I just came back yesterday so I'm pretty sure that

we're completely strangers to each other."

Ivy tried her best to remain polite in front of this woman. When she finished talking, Ivy asked, "How did

you know my name, then?"

"I'm the heiress of the BD Investment Group," Anna Dou replied slowly. In her eyes, Ivy was just a

cheap assistant, who deserved only to crawl under her feet. She should have been flattered that Anna

had noticed her.

Ivy fell silent, for she knew clearly how powerful and influential the BD Investment Group was in the

world.

"But I know you well. You are here as an assistant to Mr. Lawrence Chu, the heir of the JC Group. Am I

right?" Anna asked again in an elegant manner when Ivy still didn't say anything. She pretended to

think for a while then she continued, "But, as far as I can remember, no assistant was invited to this

Ivy suddenly felt nervous. She knew Anna was a tough person so she quickly explained, "No. I didn't

come here as an assistant of the JC Group. I came here as Lawrence's date."

Ivy thought that if she used the excuse of being Lawrence's date, Anna would be surprised or even get

nervous. However, to her dismay, Anna's reaction was different.

Anna simply laughed and looked around before she fixed her eyes on Ivy again, "Ha, ha, ha!

Lawrence's date?" "You're just an assistant," Anna's voice was full of sarcasm.

Ivy didn't know what she mean so she couldn't reply for a moment.

"Do you know why I noticed you?" Anna asked.

"Why?" Ivy asked in panic.

"Because of Lawrence," Anna Dou directly answered. However, she didn't explain more.

Ivy felt that Anna was just like other women who had feelings for Lawrence. She had met a lot of rich

ladies who admired Lawrence so she wasn't surprise anymore that someone like Anna who came from

an upper class society would show up in front of her.

"Do you like Mr. Lawrence, Ms. Anna?" Ivy asked frankly. A smile had already curled up her lips. She

had already helped Lawrence deal with such kind of women for many times in the past so she was

confident that she could handle Anna as well.

Anna suddenly felt that Ivy was ridiculous so she questioned, "Me? Like him?" She let out a soft laugh

and looked at Ivy up and down before she continued, "Miss Ivy, did you get this job in the JC Group

through some backdoor dealings? I know a lot of people in the JC Group but I think all of them are

smart, unlike you." Such judgment from Anna made Ivy feel insulted. Her face twisted in annoyance but

since there were a lot of people around them, she had to control herself.

She didn't want to draw other people's attention and be ridiculed by them. She knew that if she argued

with Anna, she would just lost in the end. Besides, she had no esteemed family background to support

her. The only person who could possibly help her was Lawrence. But Ivy knew Lawrence better than

anyone else. He disliked such noisy parties and nonsense arguments. He only joined such parties

because of his responsibility as a CEO of the JC Group. Therefore, if she caused any trouble,

Lawrence would help her out but she wouldn't get the chance to attend such parties anymore in the

future. Lawrence might even kick her out of the company.

Considering all of the possible consequences, Ivy decided to explain, "Miss Anna, I don't really know

what you mean. I have been working in the JC Group for a long time and Mr. Lawrence recognizes my

ability. I believe I am qualified to be employed by the JC Group and I don't think I need to resort to any

backdoor dealings." She paused for a while then she continued, "Since you're not one of Mr.

Lawrence's admirers, I'm sorry for what I said just now. I have misunderstood you."

Anna Dou was satisfied with her apology and nodded her head. "It seems that Mr. Lawrence is quite

busy after work. There must be a lot of women pursuing him, right?" Anna Dou then commented. Then

she added, "Or else, as his assistant, you wouldn't take every woman you meet as his admirer."

Ivy suddenly asked, "Miss Anna, do you know Mr. Lawrence? How can you comment on his life like

that?" She took the high road with Anna now because she wanted to suppress her by using Lawrence.

However, Anna didn't give her any chance to do so and simply replied, "You'll know."

Then she turned around and left Ivy alone again.
