Chapter 854 I Don’t Remember
Chapter 854 I Don’t Remember
Vince's fingers trembled as he called Joseph again but to no avail. He shook his head and pushed away the thoughts inside his head. He convinced himself that Joseph was just too busy to answer his call.
As Vince calmed himself, he honked the horn several times and rolled down the car window to yell at the vehicle ahead that was blocking the way. "It's a green light! Are you blind?! If you don't go now, I'll get a tractor to tow you away!" NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
"Damn you!" A voice of protest came from the car ahead, and Zoelle's face appeared out of the window. "You're the blind one here! Can't you see that there’s traffic ahead?!"
"It’s you." Vince was taken aback.
Zoelle froze for a moment and chuckled. "And it's you, Mastiff.”
Vince was anxious and did not have time to chat with her. He stared at the road conditions ahead.
Sensing something unusual from his tense expression, Zoelle asked seriously, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Vince replied. However, he realized that taking a doctor with him might be a good idea since Joseph might get injured fighting alone.
"Can you do me a favor?"
"What favor?" She raised an eyebrow, recalling how Vince had protected her at the bar previously.
"My boss might’ve been in a car accident. We're not sure about the extent of his injuries, but he might need your help," Vince said, withholding from her the whole story.
Hearing his words, Zoelle remembered the fight between Noah and Joseph a couple of days ago because of Chloe. She nonchalantly said, "Sure. Where did your boss get in an accident? Take me and I’ll take a look at him."
Considering Joseph's status and position, he should have a professional driver who has undergone specialized training. The probability of having a car accident was relatively low. She knew that the real situation was not as simple as Vince had said.
"It's not necessary for you to trouble yourself right now. I'll go first. If the doctors there can't handle it, I'll contact you," Vince said.
When he saw that the traffic jam ahead was dispersing, he hurriedly urged Zoelle to make way. Zoelle turned the steering wheel and moved to the side. Seizing his chance, Vince stepped on the gas and disappeared.
Zoelle turned on her phone and looked at the e-wedding invite Noah had sent out this morning and stroked her chin. "His love rival gets into a car accident the day before his wedding? Interesting," she mused.
She then turned the steering wheel and beelined to the Sullivans manor. To be honest, she was a little worried about Noah. After all, Joseph was not someone to trifle with. Since Chloe had agreed to marry him, there was no need to confront Joseph head-on as it might not be worth the trouble in the end.

"Where's Noah?" Zoelle asked one of the house helpers as she pulled into the manor.
"Mr. Noah left early this morning, but Ms. Chloe is here."
The helper had just finished speaking when Chloe, already dressed and ready for work, spotted Zoelle as she was about to leave for Exotic Star.
"Good morning, bride-to-be," Zoelle greeted Chloe with a smile.
Chloe nodded slightly. She said in a distant tone, "Noah isn't here. You can find him at Exotic Star. He should be there."
"What's wrong? Are you upset?" Zoelle took out her lipstick and started touching up her makeup. "Don't blame me. After all, you and Joseph went out together for so long at the party that day. It's normal for people to have suspicions. Noah’s my friend. Who should I help if not him? You?"
Chloe frowned in confusion.
"Seriously? You're still angry?" Zoelle raised an eyebrow when she noticed Chloe was not responding, her tone carrying a hint of dissatisfaction as she continued, "I'm not going to argue with you anymore. You lied to me too. Let's just call it even."
"No, I..." Chloe shook her head. "I don't remember what happened at the party.”
