Chapter 20 The Queen In the Mortal World
Chapter 20 The Queen In the Mortal World
Jennie did not believe that Atlas could reach the realm she dreamed of at such a young age.
However, she did not dare to doubt Mister Kane.
"Is that young man really a Martial Master?"
Mister Kane said, "Since he said that he could cure me, he wouldn't lie to me. There's no need for a
master to lie to us. I'm just afraid that we can't give him the reward he wants!"
"All in all, remember what I said. He can't be our enemy!"
"Yes!" Jennie nodded.
Atlas and Augustin left by car.
In the car, Atlas had been recalling the identity of Mister Kane.
Judging from Augustin's respect for Mister Kane, she was definitely not a nobody.
In his previous life, he had lived Ridges for more than 20 years. He also had some knowledge of the
big shots in Ridges. Except for Ronald Kimmerly, he had never heard of Mister Kane. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Mr. Coleman, who is Mister Kane? I think you are very respectful to her!" Atlas asked tentatively.
Augustin said with a smile, "Mr. Lincoln, if you are interested in the identity of Mister Kane, I can tell you
that she didn't deliberately hide her identity."
"Oh, thank you, Mr. Coleman."
Augustin suddenly asked mysteriously, "Mr. Lincoln, have you ever heard of Queen Kane of Nanin?"
"Queen Kane?" Atlas' heart suddenly jolted. He had heard of this name before.
Atlas was slightly surprised, "You mean, Mister Kane is the famous Queen Kane of Nanin?"
Augustin nodded. "Yes, it's Queen Kane."
Augustin's eyes were full of awe. He sighed, "Queen Kane is the ruler of the entire Ridges. She has six
capable assistants and twelve followers under her command. Any one of them is a big shot in the city."
"In the political and business circles, there are people commanded by Queen Kane. It is said that she
even had connections with the senior officials of Zuthana!"
Atlas was silent. He knew what Augustin said was true. Queen Kane was indeed a big name in Ridges.
It was no exaggeration to say that she was the uncrowned queen of Ridges.
"It turns out that such a big wheel has been suffering from illness all the time. No wonder I only heard of
Queen Kane in my previous life, but I have never seen her before." Atlas secretly felt pity.
However, Queen Kane was lucky enough to run into him. Otherwise, she would never be able to get rid
of the torment of illness for the rest of her life.
Augustin said, "Atlas, if you can cure Queen Kane, it will be of great benefit to you in the future!"
Atlas' lips curled up and said, "Mr. Coleman, don't worry. Since I have promised her, I will naturally cure
her illness."
"Then I shall thank you on behalf of Queen Kane!"
Atlas did not speak but just glanced at Augustin. If Augustin knew that Atlas was willing to treat Queen
Kane just because of him, what would he think?
As for Queen Kane, in Atlas' eyes, she was merely an ordinary person. Her power and status were
insignificant to him.
However, Atlas still had to live in the mundane world for a period of time. It wouldn't do any harm to him
if he could make friends with some significant figures here.
Augustin sent Atlas back to Sinclair Clinic and left.
Atlas entered the clinic and saw that Viviana was checking on a child.
He said to her, "I'm going out for a walk. Maybe I won't go back tonight. Tell Aunt Francis not to worry."
Viviana said grumpily, "Okay."
Atlas left and took a taxi to the mountain in the suburbs of Lanceham alone.
Tonight, his Cultivation Base could almost reach the early stage of Foundation Phase. He was worried
that he would disturb the Sinclair family, so he did not plan to go back tonight.
In his previous life, Atlas was an Immortal Emperor going through heavenly tribulation. In this life, he
had only returned to the path of cultivation. Foundation Phase was not difficult for him at all.
Atlas sat cross-legged on a stone and put the bread and milk bought from the supermarket aside. He
had not reached Breatharians state yet so he needed to eat.
Then, he set up a simple Protective Shield around him and began to practice.
This was a mountain in the suburbs of Lanceham, and very few people came. Atlas chose this place,
and basically no one disturbed him.
As he was concentrated on his cultivation, night gradually fell. There was no light in the mountain, and
it was dark.
With the shield protecting him, mosquitoes, rats, and ants could not approach him.
At one o'clock in the morning, there were suddenly messy footsteps at the foot of the mountain.
The four young men carried a sack and came not far from Atlas.
"Here!" One of the youths said.
"Okay, let's start digging!"
The four young men took out their iron shovels and began to dig holes.
There was something struggling within the sack, making sounds, as if it was a person.
Atlas didn't want to pay attention to it, but when he heard the voice coming from the sack, he was really
distracted.
Saving a life is more meritorious than building a seven-floor pagoda.
Atlas was not exactly a compassionate person, but he could not just stand aside watching a life being
murdered.
"What do you want to do?" Without a sound, Atlas suddenly appeared in front of the four.
The four young men, who were digging holes in the middle of the night, had been nervous enough.
They did not expect that someone else would suddenly appear here.
"Ghost!" The four screamed.
In fact, they were just hired to bury the sack. If it weren't for money, they wouldn't have done such an
immoral thing.
Frightened by Atlas' sudden appearance, they immediately found an excuse to run away.
When Atlas walked to the sack, it suddenly stopped moving.
Dead?
Atlas could clearly feel the breathing of the person in the sack.
He opened the sack and saw the people inside with the torch left by those people.
It was an old man in a white robe with long gray hair and a bun.
After the sack was untied, there was an unpleasant smell of sweat.
If his hands and feet had not been tied up, he would've look like a sage.
Atlas removed the rag from his mouth, and the old man took a deep breath.
"Who are you? Why did they hurt you?"
After waiting for a while, the old man finally recovered. He sat up, looked at Atlas, and said, "Young lad,
is there water? I'm so thirsty!"
Atlas threw him a bottle of mineral water.
"Thank you!" The old man opened the bottle, raised his head, and gulped down the water.
He drank up a bottle of water in one breath, burped, and then said with a smile, "This group of
bastards. If you hadn't saved me, I would have died today."
"By the way, young lad, what are you doing on the mountain in the middle of the night?" The old man
asked casually.
Then, as if he suddenly thought of something terrible, he hurriedly stepped back and looked at Atlas
from a distance. He exclaimed, "Are you really a ghost?"
"Have you ever seen a ghost with mineral water?" Atlas said indifferently.
"Yes, ghosts don't drink water! It's all because of those little brats just now. They misled me." The old
man began to curse the guys who had just run away.
Atlas looked at the strange old man and asked again, "You haven't answered my question yet."
The old man was stunned. He looked at Atlas and grinned, "I'm Zander Scott. How should I address
you, little brother?"
"Cosimo Lincoln."
The old man patted his thigh and gave him a thumbs-up, praising, " Cosimo is a good name!I can tell
that you have ambitions and won't settle for mediocrity! Your future is promising!"
