CHAPTER 83

Chapter 83 Chapter 83 “Mommy, are you really going to marry uncle Hunter?” Summer bit her lip as Jake looked at her for explanation. “Is it true that you two will really get married?” Jack’s disappointed and innocent eyes pierced at Summer for explanation, but she just held her gaze low, trying to fight back her tears. “Yes, kids. Is there anything wrong with that?” Hunter looked at them through the rearview mirror white having a forced smile on his face. “Mommy, I don’t want you to marry uncle Hunter,” Hunter stepped on the brake and the car made a loud screeching sound before it halt abruptly. “Me too, Mommy. I prefer uncle Xander. I don’t want you to marry uncle Hunter,” Hunter slowly clenched his fingers around the steering wheel and gritted his teeth as he looked at the little boys through the rearview mirror. They were just kids and he really wanted to ignore them, but it still hurts. “May I ask why?” He found himself asking the question as he looked back at them with a smile on his face. “Your Mom does not like our mommy. She and your sister bullied her last time. She didn’t look like a good person. She’s going to hurt us if we starting living together,” Jack’s eyes glistened with tears! “Mommy, are you really going to marry uncle Hunter?” Jack tugged on Summer’s arm, and she forced a smile. “Can you take us home please, Hunter?” She looked at Hunter instead and forced a smile. Summer’s heart wrenched painfully and tears welled up in her eyes, but for the sake of the kids, she was forced to hold them back. After a long ride, Hunter finally approached their apartment. “Uncle Xander is here,” Jack’s excited voice drew Summer’s attention, and that was when she raised her gaze and spotted Xander’s car parked at the front of her gate as he leaned against the car. As Hunter approached the gate, the kids insisted he dropped them off, so he was forced to do so. “Uncle!” They squeaked excitedly and ran into Xander’s arms once they stepped out of the car. “Look who we have here,” Xander squatted down to their level as he pulled them in for a warm embrace. “Have you been waiting for long?” “We haven’t seen you since last week. Is everything alright?” “Did you come here yesterday when we were not around?” The kids bombarded him with questions. That’s why I haven’t been able to show up,” He explained to them, then stood up and looked at Summer who was standing beside Hunter, “You didn’t take your calls. I was worried about you, so I had to rush down here,” He tucked his hands inside his pockets, but Hunter scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Don’t you think that’s up to me worry about? She’s going to be my woman officially soon. Are you going to keep being like this?” Hunter held her hand and clasped their fingers together. “What? You don’t believe me?” Hunter scoffed when he just got a bland expression from him. “Our engagement is tomorrow. I guess she hasn’t told you about it yet,” Hunter’s lips twitched into a smirk. “Hunter, please don’t create a scene here,” Summer tried to retract her hand from his grasp, but his grip on her tightened, and she eventually gave up. “Why don’t you tell him to leave, huh? We are getting engaged tomorrow which will make us official couples… Are you still going to be like this even now?” Hunter tried to hold back his anger, but eventually let it out as he looked at her unbelievably. “Hunter—” “You still don’t have the right to claim her,” Xander held her hand and pulled her away from Hunter

“Hunter… Can we not do this in front of the kids, please? Please leave,” Summer held her gaze low as she spoke to Hunter. “Hmm,” Again, he always had to be the one to leave. Once Hunter left in his car, Summer yanked Xander’s hand off and sighed. “You should leave too, Xander. I need to rest—” “Are you going to leave without explanation?” He held her hand, bringing her to a halt. “Why don’t you wait inside, kids? Mommy will join you soon,” She squatted down to the kid’s level and smiled at them. “Mommy, please don’t fight with uncle Xander,” “I won’t,” She forced a smile and stood up once the kids headed to the gate. “Explanation for what?” She turned to him once the kids were out of their sight, and scoffed. “Summer—” “What explanation do you need? It was all your fault, Xander. I wouldn’t have been in this mess if it was not for you. My life would not hand ended this way if you didn’t throw me out of your house, so what f**g explanation do you need now?” Hot tears poured down her cheeks as she looked at him with resentment. For the first time in the six years they were separated, she finally had the courage to blame him, she finally had the courage to feel a little spite toward him. 13:35 Thu, 20 Jung M • Chapter 83 “Summer—” 72% “Don’t tell me you think you’ve won me over because of that kiss at the hospital…” She paused and scoffed as she ran her fingers through her hair. “It was just a spur of the moment, Xander. Stop showing your face to me. You are making things difficult for me!” She turned to leave once she was done ranting. +5 “You think I’m going to sit back and watch you be with another man? I’m not the type to give up the person I love. I won’t ever give you up for any man—”

“You did six years ago. You gave up on us years ago, xander—” “That was a mistake I regretted every day of my life. I won’t allow that to happen again,” he looked into her teary eyes assuringly, and she bit her lip. “The engagement won’t happen, Summer. I give you my word,” She would’ve been the happiest person on earth if only he would be able to stop this engagement, but deep inside her, she knew he won’t ever be able to do anything about it. She yanked his hands off and walked inside. Shortly after Summer walked inside the house, the kids came running to Xander. “Is Mommy really going to marry uncle Hunter?” Jake didn’t look happy as he tugged on Xander’s leg. “Uncle Hunter’s Mom is not a good woman. She and her daughter bullied Mom. I don’t want her to marry him,” Jack pouted his lips sadly. A small smile formed on Xander’s face as he squatted down to their level and ruffled their hair. “Your mommy won’t marry him. I promise,” He assured them with a smile. “Will you marry Mommy and be our Daddy?” Jake asked out of the blue moon, taking Xander by surprise…
