Chapter 190 Blowing Away The Pain

Maggie laughed angrily and glared at him. “You haven’t settled the score with me for lying yet, and you still have the nerve to think about something else.”

With that, she pushed him away and walked towards the sofa. Come here. Let me take a look at your arm.”

Nathael stood in place, watching her figure for a moment. After a while, he chuckled softly, a hint of indulgence in his eyes, and then he followed her with long strides.

After pressing him down onto the sofa, Maggie’s gaze immediately fell on his wound.

“Have you changed the bandage?”

The wound, which was covered by bandages, was the most severe among the several cuts, varying in depth.

“Yeah, responded Nathael.

“Huh?” Maggie’s finger rested on the bandage as she gently lifted a corner. Hearing his response, she looked at him suspiciously.

“Not yet.” Nathael had to correct himself.

The medicine smelled a bit strong, and he had taken a quick shower, worried that she might notice. something wrong. Therefore, he had only used iodine to disinfect the wound and hadn’t applied any medicine.

Maggie pursed her cherry lips at his words, and even her elegant jawline tightened slightly.

She stood up, brought the medicine box over, and carefully used scissors to cut open the bandage.

A wound more severe than the one beside it came into view. If the one beside it had already grown a layer of pink, tender flesh, it hadn’t healed.

And it seemed that perhaps due to exertion just now, the wound had split open, with blood already seeping out.

“Which medicine should I use?” Maggie muttered, unable to hide her displeasure.

Nathael took out several ointments from the medicine box and saw her silently treating his wound. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

He lowered his gaze and watched her absentmindedly, but in his mind, he couldn’t help but recall the

words she had said.

She would care, and she would worry.

Maggie held her breath, her throat tightening, and her entire nervous system seemed tense, afraid she might hurt him.

However, Nathael remained indifferent, showing no response at all.

As time passed second by second, she couldn’t help but worry. She looked up at him and asked, “Does it

hurt?”

Nathael smirked, his lips curling up slightly, as he replied in a deep voice, “Blow on it, and it won’t hurt

anymore.

Maggie was stunned for a few seconds, feeling both hurt and annoyed. Her eyes reddened with anger as she exclaimed, “You’re childish!”

Does he have any empathy?

She was mad!

The injury was so severe. It was probably serious enough to warrant amputation of the arm.

After struggling for a while. Maggie finally managed to treat the most severe part of his injury for him and rewrapped it with bandages.

Then, she applied medicine to several other serious areas as well.

When she was almost done, her fingertips couldn’t help but land on a wound that had already scabbed

over.

This was one of the shallower cuts, so it scabbed over quickly. It was probably caused by some sharp fragments scraping against it, not too serious but still somewhat deep.

She wondered if it would leave a scar.

Maggie was absent–minded, having just cried, and because of his injuries, her whole mood was somewhat subdued. She was not feeling too great emotionally.

“It won’t leave a scar. My friend has a traditional ointment with remarkable healing properties.”

Noticing her worry, Nathael pulled her into his arms and spoke softly.

Maggie didn’t respond to him, but she obediently nestled in his arms.

She just couldn’t help but wonder.

For her, while life could certainly be restarted, the future and accidents were still unpredictable as to which

would come first.

In his past life, did Nathael also experience this ordeal?

Maggie couldn’t remember anymore.

“Want to watch a movie?” Nathael glanced down at the woman in his arms, whose mood was low, and spoke softly.

“Yeah,” Maggie responded absentmindedly.

Nathael turned on the TV, poured her a glass of water, and then selected a newly released movie.

Twenty minutes into the movie, Maggie hadn’t paid much attention

She couldn’t help but ask, “Who did this? Was it someone from the Harris family? Or some enemy?”

greater its power, the harder it is to stay united. Everyone has their selfish desires and needs.”

Maggie understood that his words were referring to the people of the Harris family.

Thinking about this, she also thought of Beth today and couldn’t help but ask, “Will it be detrimental to you because I conflict with the Brays?”

Nathael couldn’t help but pinch her stiff little face. “It won’t. If I have to rely on the Brays to stand firm, then I’d rather not inherit the position of the Harris family heir.

Moreover, the Brays are reasonable people. How could they be at odds with me just because of Beth?”

Nathael’s eyes were deep. While the Brays valued Beth, so what?

His marriage with Beth would never happen. Whether he thoroughly offended them or stood with them on the same side, Master Bray would surely make the decision.

If the Brays were sensible, he wouldn’t mind letting them enjoy some benefits.

Maggie nestled in his arms. Perhaps feeling a bit weary or maybe because his comforting embrace was too warm, her eyelids grew heavy before long, and she gradually drifted off to sleep.

Listening to her gentle and steady breathing, Nathael turned off the TV and gazed at her delicate little face, tracing its contours carefully.

After a while, he gently kissed her forehead and lifted her, carrying her back to the bedroom.

Tonight, Maggie didn’t sleep peacefully.

Memories from her past life, whether realized or unrealized, flooded into her dreams, creating a chaotic

mix.

Sometimes, it was Sierra gouging out her eyes, leaving only a bloody darkness, and other times, it was Phillip and Fiona dying tragically.

Then there were moments when Beth pushed her down the stairs or Nathael rushed alone to save her.

“Nana!”

“Nana, wake up!”

“Go Go away!”

Maggie jolted awake in a cold sweat at the moment when she and Nathael were blasted into a bloody mess, her mind reeling from the nightmare.

As she opened her eyes, she met Nathael’s deep gaze. His beautiful eyes carried concern and inquiry,

It’s okay, Nathael spoke softly.

Maggie sighed in relief and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was 8 AM, quite carly, indeed.

Mau Heelvietilenced by the dream the anger that had ahaided before now sirve darain.

With a cold expression, she ignored him, got out of bed, and went to the living room to pour herself a glass of water to calm down.

Nathael got up and followed her, speaking in a low voice, “Had a nightmare?”

*I’m angry. If you hide something from me again, I’ll never talk to you again!” Maggie looked up at him, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face.

Nathael paused for a few seconds, then stepped forward, wanting to pull her into his arms.

Maggie stepped back, saying, “Don’t touch me. I’m still angry. Don’t think this matter can just be brushed aside lightly.”

Maggie sat on the sofa, hugging her knees, with a cold expression. Her complexion was somewhat pale. but her lips, which had just drunk water, were bright red, giving her a look of sadness and anger.

Nathael felt a headache coming on. He hadn’t expected that after finally calming her down, she would start seuling scores with him again because of a nightmare.

A few minutes later, Nathael brought a beautifully packaged, large rectangular gift box and placed it in front of Maggie.

Maggie wiped away her tears, her nose still slightly red.

She looked up at him, unable to resist asking, “What is it?”
