However, Nathael’s gaze remained inscrutable. Instead of challenging Maggie’s words, his dark eyes on Joseph.

Joseph was momentarily stunned when he met her eyes.

“Did he bully you?” he asked.
In that instant, Maggie felt Joseph was behaving foolishly.
One moment he was on her side, the next he sided with Nathael, utterly bewildered.
Recognising this, Joseph’s complexion paled slightly. He tore his gaze away from Maggie, saying, “Mr. Harris, I believe there’s been a misunderstanding. I’ll take Maggie away first.”
Before Nathael could respond, Maggie chuckled.

“What authority do you have to take me away? Who do you think you are? I admire Mr. Harris, and it’s none of your concern, Maggie snapped, her tone far from polite, driven by her anger towards Joseph’s audacity.
After saying that, she turned and dashed to Nathael, settling directly onto his lap with her arms encircling his neck. Tears welled in her eyes as she softly pleaded, “You won’t cast me aside, will you?”
Nathael glanced at her and instinctively wrapped his arms around her waist, reassuring her, “I won’t.”
Joseph couldn’t believe what he was witnessing. Maggie’s demeanour shifted as swiftly as flipping a page in
a book.
However, what truly astounded him was Nathael’s unexpected defence of her.
“Alex, kindly escort our guest out,” Nathael said coldly, his tone conveying annoyance.
“Mr. Cameron, please.”
Looking at Alex in front of him, Joseph halted for a minute, his attention drawn back to the two intimate figures on the sofa.
He was beaten severely and hasn’t said much since he arrived.
But right now, there was nothing to say.
“Mr. Cameron, please.” Alex’s tone became more serious, with a tinge of caution in his kind but formal demeanour.
Though reluctant, Joseph found himself with no reason to prolong his stay. As he departed, his mind replayed the scene of Maggie nestled on Nathael’s lap, their intimacy evident.

Once outside the hotel, Joseph remained seated in his car for a long while, deep in thought.
While he had initially directed Maggie towards Nathael’s bed, he never anticipated her success. After all, a man like Nathael could have his pick of any woman he liked.
