Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel)

Chapter 385

Chapter 385 Really Good–Looking

Nathael stayed silent for what felt like ages, not giving any reply.

Maggie began to wonder if he had nodded off. Then she noticed the slow movement of the boy’s slende fingers as he reached for a cotton swab and disinfectant.

Seeing this, Maggie grinned and remarked, “Tll take that’s ay

yes.

“Sure,” Nathael replied, unsure of the importance of this newfound friendship.

But she looked pleased.

Accepting the cotton swab and disinfectant from him, Maggie offered, “Let me help.”

Nathael hesitated, but she had already taken them, so he simply turned away without a word.

Moonlight filtered into the cramped storage room, casting a silvery glow. Amidst the dust particles floating in the air, Nathael sat with his bare back facing Maggie.

Maggie carefully tended to his wounds, making do with the limited supply of cotton swabs. Thankfully, she managed to treat all his injuries.

However, there was one spot on his back that seemed particularly troublesome. It was oozing pus and blood and was visibly swollen.

After a brief silence, Maggie cautiously probed the area with the cotton swab. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Nathael tensed, feeling more discomfort compared to the other injuries.

Without waiting for Nathael’s reaction, Maggie leaned in from behind and said, “This spot is swollen and filled with pus. Should I open it up and drain the blood? It would hurt a lot though.”

Maggie knew that leaving it untreated could lead to further complications.

Without hesitation, Nathael produced a dagger from somewhere and heated its blade with a lighter before handing it to Maggie, saying, “Use this.”

Maggie e was taken aback. “You have a knife? Didn’t the orphanage staff search you when you arrived? This -is prohibited.”

Nathael didn’t respond, showing no intention to explain.

Seeing this, Maggie didn’t press further. Her focus shifted to the wound, her throat tightening with

nervousness.

But despite her anxiety, she remained steady.

After a moment, she carefully opened the sealed wound. Nathael remained vigilant behind her, but the pain was milder than he anticipated, almost making him question if she had started yet.

“Can’t bring yourself to do it?” Nathael asked, turning his head.

But in the next instant. Maggie’s lips covered the wound as she sucked out the pus and blood.

Nathael stiffened, his mind going blank.

In the quiet of the room, he could feel the warmth of her lips, occasionally sensing her breath on his skin.

Unable to see anything, Nathael turned away, his checks flushing uncontrollably.

He wasn’t clueless, but no girl had ever been this close to him. Whether it was due to this intimacy or a stranger intruding on his personal space, Nathael’s cars turned red involuntarily.

Maggie didn’t think much about it. This method of treatment was simple; every child in the orphanage knew it, and most used this method, so she didn’t think much of it.

However, the smell of pus and blood was rather unpleasant. Maggie spat out the pus and rinsed her mouth several times with cold water before stopping.

Then she disinfected his wound once more, using the remaining medicine powder and applying it to the

more severe areas.

With everything tended to, there were only the bruises and cuts on his face left. Nathael could handle the injuries on the front of his body, so Maggic only helped with some cuts on his face.

He was quite tall, so she half–kneeled in front of him. There was a faint fragrance on the girl, mixed with a hint of sweetness from fruity candy.

Maggie looked at his handsome face and couldn’t help but complain, “They really didn’t hold back.”

Nathael remained silent, letting her fiddle with him o quietly.

There was a wound on the side of his cheek, slender and streaked with blood. Maggie inexplicably raised her hand, wanting to move his hair aside.

Sensing her movement, Nathael looked up at her, but for some reason, he didn’t stop her.

Their eyes met. Under the strands of hair, his pair of deep and narrow phoenix eyes were mysteriously

attractive.

Maggie was stunned for a few seconds. The boy seemed like the most expensive and fragile sculpture, exuding an indescribable noble beauty. His features were sharp and defined, his eyes deep and intense, yet with a hint of indescribable laziness.

At that moment, Maggie didn’t know what she was thinking.

She just thought he was really good–looking.

And she always liked beautiful things.

“Aren’t you going to sleep?” Nathael finally spoke after a while.

Usually, the dormitory would be locked late at night. Although he had just arrived, he could guess the rules. Maggie snapped out of her thoughts and turned to look in the direction outside the door, saying nonchalantly. “It’s already too late.”

Upon hearing this, Nathael fell silent and didn’t speak again.

“But later. I can climb back through the window. I have a partner who will help me open it. but I have to

wait until everyone is sound asleep. Maggie spoke gently.

“Once your wounds are dry, you can put on clothes. I got you a piece of someone else’s clothing. Later, you can wear it over your shirt, and it should keep you warm.” Maggie touched the bomber jacket. Of course, it couldn’t compare to a padded jacket, but she had always wanted one.

Unfortunately, the last one was taken by someone else, so she didn’t get a turn.

She didn’t know how much longer she would stay in the orphanage. Every person who said they liked her and wanted to adopt her would back out for some reason.

It had been two years, and although life didn’t seem as hard as before, everything still felt bleak, making it hard to see any hope.

Maggie pulled herself away from her grim thoughts and looked at the torn white shirt beside her. She rummaged through her pockets and pulled out a small roll of white thread, saying, “Let me try to sew it for you. But I’m not very good.”

No one had taught her, so Maggie learned by imitation. She first haphazardly stitched together the severely damaged area, but she failed a bit. The originally neat fabric ended up in a tangled mess around the chest area.

Nathael tolerated it for a while, but he couldn’t wear it like that. So, he took the needle and thread, unraveled it, and sewed it again.

Maggie blinked beside him, watching intently.

Although there were still injuries on his fingers, they were long and elegant. With each stitch, the tattered clothes seemed to become obedient in his hands,

In no time, Maggie saw the shirt being sewn back together. He seemed like the most skilled surgeon, every stitch perfectly aligned.

Maggie bit her lip, unable to help but say. “I wish you had come here earlier.”

Nathael looked up at her, seeing the regret in her eyes.

Maggie continued, “I had gotten a beautiful skirt before, but someone secretly ruined it. I tried to sew it for a long time, but I couldn’t fix it. I threw it in the trash a few days ago.”

Maggie didn’t understand why she had such a picky nature. Although the conditions in the orphanage were not good, she always couldn’t stand old, dirty, and messy things.

She would definitely try her best to make herself look beautiful and decent, like a peacock that didn’t belong.
