Chapter 689: Preparing to Act
Jared pinched his brow, knowing the inevitable had arrived. He cleared his throat and said, "Uncles, forgive me for not being able to wait a few more years for Tina. Marrying her isn't about weighing pros and cons; it's about giving her my true heart. Please be assured that as long as I live, I will never let Tina suffer!"Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
Brandon initially wanted to make things difficult for Jared, but seeing his sincere affection, he found himself at a loss for words.
Gavin and Jack exchanged glances. They had been quite angry, but now, their anger seemed to dissipate. What exactly went wrong?
Tina glanced at her three uncles and smiled, "Don't worry, uncles, I was the one who suggested we get the marriage certificate. I trust him."
The three uncles looked at each other and sighed softly. What could they say? Their dear little rabbit's heart had been utterly charmed by Jared; challenging him might only upset her.
Well, it was done! The certificate was obtained; what more could be done? Surely they wouldn't ask them to divorce? That was not something they wished to see.
"Since you all say so, let it be. But Jared, remember, Tina is our treasure. The wedding must be conducted properly."
"Of course! I will give Tina the grandest wedding!" Jared declared.
Originally, Logan and Marie were going to discuss the wedding with the Brookes family, but concerns over a street incident involving bionic robots, possibly used to harm the Farrell and Brookes families, had put those plans on hold. However, once this matter was resolved, the wedding would definitely be back on the agenda.
After chatting for a while, Jared and Tina prepared to return to their country. As they were about to leave, Tina suddenly remembered something.
"Uncle, wait, I forgot something."
Jared nodded and waited as she returned to the spot where the woman in red had attacked her. After carefully searching the ground, she found a silver needle and a sealed bag, which she meticulously packed away in her pocket. Once aboard the aircraft, Jared took Tina's hand. They had been traveling back and forth, and Tina was quite tired. With Jared by her side, she felt unusually secure and soon fell asleep.
Not far away, the woman in red watched the departing private jet and turned to leave. She had guessed correctly; their visit to Alderanth was merely a ruse, coincidentally aligning with her own objectives. She chuckled, noting that the Five Poisons group had been nearly wiped out and was now vulnerable. It was time for them to be eradicated. Five Poisons had occupied their position for too long; it was time for more capable hands to take over.
Upon returning home, Jared and Tina sent out their people across the country to capture Dorothy Russell.
In a suburban area, Tina and Jared sat in the car. She rolled down the window, looked at the ongoing search outside, and slowly said, "Uncle, what do you think that woman in red is really after?"
From the tone of the woman in red, it seemed she didn't consider Five Poisons a threat. Five Poisons, the founder of RST, had become a nightmare for many, yet in the eyes of that woman, he appeared to be nothing more than an ant. "Her identity is very mysterious," Jared said with narrowed eyes, his voice flat. Tina raised an eyebrow, "How mysterious?" Jared handed his phone to Tina, which displayed a message sent two minutes prior by his subordinates: "No such person found!"
"Before we returned to our country, I had people in our homeland and in Alderanth investigate her, and all came back with the same result-there is no information on this woman whatsoever."
It was the first time he had investigated someone and found absolutely no trace of them. Even the elusive Five Poisons had some information available; at least it was known that Five Poisons was the boss of GTO, not a single individual, and involved in secret dealings.
But this woman, despite his searches through major powers and hidden families, remained an enigma. Tina glanced at the reply on the phone, handed it back to Jared, and smirked, "It seems she's even more troublesome than Five Poisons!" Jared's expression grew grave, "We still don't know her purpose. Be careful when I'm not around."
He paused, then added, "From what she implied, she seems to know you, and I have a feeling she's planning to target you."

Tina nodded, "Don't worry, I'll take care of myself."
Since this woman had appeared, Tina felt an unprecedented sense of crisis, the kind felt in the presence of a powerful adversary. Even though she and Jared had managed to fend off the woman in their last encounter, Tina felt that the woman had not revealed her full strength. Yet, she could sense that the woman might be injured internally, though she couldn't explain why she felt this way.
At that moment, Tina thought, if the woman had not been injured and had used her full strength, she might have already met her demise. She had no doubts about the woman's intentions, which could very well be directed at her. Therefore, it was crucial for her to capture Dorothy Russell soon to possibly glean some clues from her. Only by fully understanding the enemy could she be fully prepared; she didn't want to die not knowing how or why.
"Mr. Farrell, ma'am, everyone is in position," Nathan approached and reported. He wasn't dressed in combat attire today as this operation wasn't sanctioned by the X Bureau. Jared had mobilized people from the Shadows, and Tina from the Mountain Veil Order. Just in case, this operation included neither him nor Hayden from the X Bureau's team.
"Okay," Tina glanced at the villa nearby, "are we sure she's inside?"
"Confirmed," Nathan replied, "Our thorough investigation shows Dorothy Russell is inside this villa."
"Prepare to move!" With that, Tina rolled up the window, pushed open the car door, and stepped out. Jared followed closely behind.
