“Rhett! You’re safe!” Mackenzie’s voice cracked with relief. Despite the cold and chaos, a mixture of tears and laughter lit up her face. For a fleeting moment, her icy demeanor melted, replaced by raw emotion.
Rhett stepped forward, his piercing gaze fixed on her. “Your Holiness, where’s Falcon?”
Mackenzie froze, her expression faltering as the weight of Falcon’s sacrifice hit her again. “Falcon…” she choked, forcing the words out. “He stayed behind to cover us. He fought the Toad King, but his face… was already rotting from the poison. I… I don’t think he made it.”
A heavy silence fell as Rhett’s jaw tightened, his fists clenching until his knuckles turned white. His dark eyes burned with a quiet fury that didn’t need words to show its depth. It was a rare sight–Rhett’s calm exterior was replaced by something far more dangerous.
Even Dead and Mad, the battle–hardened members of the Ophanim Clan, felt a shiver run down their spines. They’d seen Rhett angry before, but never like this–his silent storm before the strike.
The Toad King, oblivious to his provoked danger, let out a grotesque laugh. He sneered, “Oh, that guy? His face rotted like spoiled, fruit, and his insides? Crushed by my fists. He’s nothing but a frozen corpse buried under the snow now. Hahaha!”
His words hit Rhett like a dagger, stirring fury and grief. His fists clenched so tightly that faint flames flickered to life, struggling to burn even in the freezing air.
Unbothered, the Toad King laughed and taunted, “You’ll all share the same fate! Anyone who dares stand in my way will meet a miserable end. No one stops me from claiming the Saintess! Hahaha!”
The twisted sound of his laughter echoed across the battlefield, amplified by his cultists who cackled along with him. It grated through the freezing air like shards of glass, sharp and sickening, making Mackenzie and the others recoil in disgust.
“Good! You’ve done it now! Prepare to burn in the flames of fury!” Rhett’s voice was low, cold, and lethal, like a blade cutting through the air.

Before the words even sank in, Rhett moved. In an instant, he became a blur of crimson, streaking across the snow like a blood–red phantom. His cloak billowed behind him, a living flame that seemed to dance with his fury, and in the blink of an eye, he was on the Toad King.
The Toad King’s smug grin wavered, and a flicker of regret crossed his grotesque face. Why is this guy so much stronger than the last one? he thought, panic creeping into his mind as Rhett closed the distance with terrifying speed.
The Toad King barely had time to react; he stumbled backward, each of Rhett’s strikes landing with explosive force.
Rhett’s every move was calculated yet fueled by raw fury. His attacks ripped through everything in his path. Wherever he went, the cultists fell like rag dolls, their poisoned blood staining the snow.
“Kill them all!”
Ironskull, Dead, Mad, and the rest of the Wolf Warriors roared as they surged forward, inspired by Rhett’s unstoppable charge.

He thought grimly, The bodies of these cultists from the Five Poison Sect are infused with poison–every drop of the blood and every breath they exhale taints the air. As the Wolf Warriors engage in battle, their exposure increases, and even with protective gear, their defenses diminish over time. That’s what the Toad King is counting on—he won’t figh me directly. He’s using this as a trap, luring us forward to spread the poison further.
Rhett had already made up his mind–he would avenge his fallen Falcon, even if it meant being poisoned himself. His focus was clear–kill the Toad King. Once the Toad King was dead, his followers would lose their strength and morale, giving the Wolf Warrior Unit the chance to protect Mackenzie and escape.
The Toad King cursed under his breath as he dodged yet another bone–crushing blow. “This man’s insane! he hissed, panic creeping in.
He wondered, He isn’t just powerful–he’s relentless. Didn’t he just fight Aora all night? How does he still have this much strength left?
“Die!” Rhett roared, his fist aimed to obliterate the Toad King’s bloated form.
The Toad King could feel the chilling scent of death closing in. His bizarre body structure might set him apart from ordinary humans, bút he wasn’t invincible. One more hit from Rhett’s furious onslaught, and he’d be done for reduced to nothing.
Just then, another crimson figure burst into the battlefield.
Aora, battered and bloodied, appeared out of nowhere, intercepting Rhett’s attack with a desperate strike, Despite his injuries, he forced himself into the fight.
Rhett didn’t flinch. Driven by his unshakable resolve to avenge Falcon, he refused to dodge. With a fierce shout, he split his focus one fist rocketing toward Aora while the other continued its deadly path toward the Toad King.
Boom!
The impact was cataclysmic. Snow and debris exploded into the air as the trio collided, and the shockwave knocked back everyone nearby. Mackenzie’s heart pounded in her chest, fear twisting inside her–she couldn’t bear to lose anyone else.
Moments later, the Wolf Warriors let out cries of excitement. Rhett had faced off against two formidable fighters at once and didn’t falter. On the contrary, Aora and the Toad King were sent sprawling backward, their bodies carving long lines into the snow as they skidded to a stop.
Aora coughed violently, blood trickling from his lips. His internal injuries were worsening, and his internal strength was quickly draining.
In reality, Rhett’s internal strength slightly surpassed Aora’s by a narrow margin. Conversely, the Toad King was almost equal to Aora in combat skills, yet his internal strength didn’t match Rhett’s or Aora’s.
With Aora injured and his energy dwindling, Rhett was the only one strong enough to take them both
down.
The Wolf Warriors erupted in cheers.
“What a fight! Incredible!”
“The King of Dark Night Island is unstoppable!”

“Don’t get ahead of yourselves!” Mackenzie’s voice rang out sharply, cutting through the cheers. Unlike the others, she remained calm, her sharp gaze taking in the battlefield.
She warned the team to hold their ground and avoid rushing ahead. She knew the grim reality–the blood of the Five Poison Sect cultists was laced with poison, and the Toad King could spew his venomous saliva at any moment. Charging recklessly would only put the Wolf Warriors at deadly risk.
Though she wasn’t skilled in martial arts, Mackenzie’s keen observation told her something was wrong. Rhett’s movements, while still robust, were slowing ever so slightly. His mask, once pristine, was now streaked with blood, a silent testament to his injuries.
Her heart sank. His condition must be as bad as Aora’s–or worse. What if he’s already poisoned?
Meanwhile, the Toad King turned to Aora with desperation in his voice. “What do we do?”
Fear flickered across his grotesque face. In his entire life, he had never encountered anyone this powerful -aside from the two leaders of the Five Poison Sect. Rhett’s overwhelming strength was shaking him to the core.
Aora wiped the blood from his mouth, gritting his teeth. “Calm down. He’s strong, but he’s burning through his strength. If we keep pressing him, he’ll collapse.”
It was only then that the Toad King managed to regain his composure. Aora’s words gave him just enough confidence to steady himself; otherwise, Rhett’s overwhelming presence would’ve wholly shaken him.

“Rhett, you’re tough but running out of steam, right? Keep this up, and you won’t last long. What’s your plan, huh? The poison in the air is only getting stronger” Aora called mockingly, his voice cutting through the mist.
Rhett staggered slightly, his body wavering as if his knees might give out. The protective gear… it’s not enough to block the Toad King’s poison. At this rate, I can only hold on for a few more minutes, he thought, his mind racing.
His frustration simmered. If Aora hadn’t interfered, I would’ve finished off the Toad King by now and turned the tide of this battle. Now… it looks like that chance is slipping away.
Before long, Aora shouted, “Fire! Kill them and capture the Saintess alive!” His words were deliberate. He knew the Toad King and his followers all too well–capturing the Saintess alive was far more tempting to them than killing her outright.
As expected, the Toad King’s eyes lit up with wicked excitement. With a guttural roar, he charged forward and led the cultists in a frenzied advance.
“Your Holiness, what now?” Ostrich asked, his voice trembling.
Ironskull stepped forward, his fists clenched. “Your Holiness, give the order. We’ll hold the line with Rhett
no matter the cost!”
