Chapter 487
Chapter 487
“Hello.”
Brandon opened the car door and sat in the driver’s seat.
It was dim in the car, and the outline of the handsome face hid in the darkness. The atmosphere suddenly became solemn.
“Mr. Cassel, it’s been a long time.” Finn’s voice came from the receiver.
Finn was always calm and smiling, but the more he acted like that, the more terrifying he was.
“Mr. Orwell, just tell me what you need me to do.”
Brandon got straight to the point.
Finn chuckled. “Do you still remember our cooperation? I’ve left you enough time to reminisce. It’s time to fulfill our agreement.”
The day had arrived.
Since he had made a promise, Brandon wouldn’t go back on his word. He said, “Let’s talk face-to-face somewhere.”
Finn soon sent Brandon an address. It was the Green Forest Club again.
Brandon couldn’t help but think of the Orwell family behind it when he thought of the booming club that rose from the ground.
It was another feud between rich and powerful families. It was not easy for Brandon to live a peaceful life, but now, he would be in a feud again.
Brandon closed his eyes for a while. When he opened his eyes, he stepped on the accelerator, and the Ferrari sped out.
The Green Forest Club was close to the hospital
Brandon was treated, and it took Brandon about ten minutes to drive there.
The Ferrari roared all the way. With a perfect drift, it stopped steadily at the club entrance.
The doorman last time came over to park the car for Brandon with alacrity.
The doorman didn’t recognize Brandon wrongly and even called out his name, “Mr. Cassel, please come in.
Mr. Orwell is waiting for you upstairs.”
Brandon had been here once, so he didn’t need anyone to lead the way and quickly found the private room where he had seen Finn last time.
Finn was sitting in a wheelchair in front of the floor-to-ceiling window. It was not too cold, but he wore a fur cloak.
Under the black fur on his collar, his pale cheeks looked even weaker. Finn’s illness was not so serious before going to Paris, and now he was coughing at any time.
Carl stood to the side, both distressed and helpless.
“Mr. Orwell, why do you have to go to Paris? Look at you now.”
Finn fulfilled his promise and flew to Paris to see Lilia in this half month.
Paris was known for its romance and vitality, but Finn only felt that his sick body was out of place.
Finn pretended to be vigorous, yet, he couldn’t hide his drawn-out illness. When he kept his spirits up, Finn looked much better than he did at home.
Lilia vaguely knew Finn was suffering from some chronic illness, so she didn’t think about the terminal illness. She thought Finn was too exhausted from work.
Lilia was keen to spend time with Finn. Every day, except for classes, she loved to go to the streets and alleys to feel Paris with Finn.
Finn was nearing the end of his life. After he went home, his condition had been way worse.
It was only the beginning of autumn, but Finn had put on thick clothes to keep warm.
Finn understood he didn’t have much time left even though others didn’t talk about it.
A strange soup even replaced the red wine he often drank.
Finn subconsciously picked the soup up and took a sip but found it unpleasant to smell. He immediately put it back down.
“Go and see how long before Brandon can arrive.”
Carl left right away as Finn ordered.
Soon, Gerald went back with Brandon. “Mr. Cassel, this way, please.”
As the footsteps approached, Finn saw Brandon walking toward him like he was looking in a mirror.
The 6-feet-tall man was robust, and his face was like a work of art.
Brandon seemed to be a blessed substitute for him.
“Mr. Orwell, what do you want me to do?” Brandon skipped the pleasantries and got right to it.
“I want you to become me from now on. Become Finn Orwell thoroughly,” Finn said slowly.
“You want me to help you guard everything in the Orwell family, right?”
Brandon had been busy other than treating his illness in the past few days. He made some time to investigate the Orwell family.
Finn’s father, Ruben Orwell, and his wife gave birth to three sons. Ruben raised his outstanding eldest son as an heir. However, Ruben’s eldest son died young in a robbery when studying abroad.
The inheritance rights fell into the hands of Ruben’s second son, a trust fund baby, who died at the cliff’s bottom due to a fast car.
Finn’s two brothers had died unexpectedly, leaving only him, who was unfortunately sick.
The worst thing was Finn’s younger cousin, his uncle’s son, Daryl Orwell.
Daryl was like a hungry wolf coveting the Orwell family’s property. Finn was still alive, but Daryl couldn’t hold back and showed off in the company several times.
“Yes,” Finn answered. “Help me stabilize the company and take care of someone.”
“Take care of who?”
Brandon only focused on the background information of the Orwell family his subordinates gathered and ignored Finn’s love life.
Brandon was not a nosy person, and he felt that Finn, the person who would hold the company in his hands even if he died, would not be affected by love. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
However, the next second, Finn’s words blew Brandon’s mind.
“I have a fiancée who is still studying in Paris. I hope you can help me hide it from her and tell her the truth three years later.”
“Three years?” Brandon was keenly aware of the time.
“You mean I need to live three years with your identity?”
“The Orwell Group has begun its internal strife. I believe you can pacify the group within six months, but…”
Finn continued, “I have checked. Three years is the best time to forget. I don’t want her to be sad, so you have to tell her the truth three years later.”
Brandon had someone he loved and could understand the pain in Finn’s heart, so he agreed, “Okay, I promise you.”
“Mr. Cassel, thank you,” Finn sincerely thanked him. “I must remind you that this process might be difficult, but everything you have seized is yours.”
Brandon furrowed his brows.
One should know that even if Finn died, his parents were still alive, and Finn’s wealth would never become Brandon’s.
They were both clever, and Finn saw through Brandon’s thoughts.
“Don’t worry. Before I die, I will arrange a place for my parents to live.”
If Finn sent his biological parents away, the chances of Brandon, an imposter, being detected would be greatly reduced.
“You are very thoughtful.” Brandon praised.
Finn suddenly changed the topic, his eyes full of threat.
“To be safe, you cannot tell our plan to another soul, including your beloved wife.”
“Not even Savanna?”
Brandon frowned.
He and Savanna had just solved the misunderstanding.
How could he hide such a big thing from her?
