Chapter 526 What Was Happening To Terence (Part One)

Chapter 526 What Was Happening To Terence (Part One)

Inside the ward, Carla and her daughter, Sally, were sleeping side by side in a narrow hospital bed.

The mother was holding her daughter in her arms very tightly. She had placed most of the quilt on her

child, leaving her own legs outside and exposed to the cruel coldness of the hospital air conditioner.

Carla's other leg was even hanging at the edge of the bed.

When Terence came in and saw this scenario, unknowingly, a frown appeared on his face. With a

second to think about it, he was ready to leave the room.

But just when he opened the door of the ward again, he heard a soft grunt that sounded like Carla's.

"Terence?" Carla then said.

She knew that he was going to come, so she willed herself not to fall asleep deeply.

She sat up from the bed, moved Sally from her arms to the middle of the bed, and properly covered her

with the quilt. Then, she stretched herself, put her coat on and walked towards Terence.

"Now that you're here, let's have a talk. Take a seat," Carla said.

She poured two glasses of water and sat down on the sofa.

Terence turned around, went inside and turned to look at Sally who was still sleeping. Then, he walked

toward the sofa and was about to sit down. But just at that moment, his phone rang.

"Hello, Lucy. I'll be home right away. Don't worry about me. Yes, goodnight."

After exchanging a few words, Terence hung up the phone. Then, he turned to Carla, and said, "I'll

come and see Sally tomorrow. For now, I need to go."

Carla, who was sitting on the sofa, finally realized that Terence was very resolved to leave.

So she asked straight away, "Is Lucy your current wife?"

When he heard her question, Terence stopped on his tracks. Then, he briefly responded, "Yes."

"Have you decided what you're going to do yet? Are you going to continue your marriage with her?"

Carla asked while she stood up to have a better look at him.

She thought that she had to make it clear to him. She had already told him her terms but she wanted to

emphasize that she was downright serious about them.

Moreover, she just couldn't bear the fact that her man was now another woman's husband!

Terence turned around and looked at her. Carla immediately saw that his eyes were full of nothing but

indifference. He firmly stated, "What do you mean? Should I drive away all the people around me and

accept you just because you're back? Should I just adjust every single detail of my life just because

you said so?

Who do you think you are?"

When she heard his cruel words, Carla closed her eyes and bit her lips. Truth be told, this man really

had the ability to make her feel broken down and lost with just a few words. He really had that much

effect on her. She said, "I've made it clear to you! I'm your only wife, and Sally is your only daughter. It

should just be us in your life! How could you replace us like that!"

Then, there was a moment of silence.

Terence suddenly walked towards Carla and stopped in front of her. He then said, "Are you forcing me

to do this?"

"I'm not forcing you. I just think that that should be how matters are. It's the only way for us," Carla

responded, a little calmer this time.

She looked up at him with buds of tears in her eyes. The man in front of her hadn't changed a lot in the

past four years.

Or so she thought Terence didn't change from the outside. He still looked as charming, confident, and

handsome as when she last saw him. No matter how hurtful his words were and how cold he was

towards her, Carla wanted to believed that his heart and soul had not changed as well.

"Well, I have to tell you that what you're asking for is impossible! Lucy is my wife right now. She's a

caring and gentle wife. I have no complaints about her. Why should I just throw her away like what

you're suggesting? "

Terence said while he looked at Carla directly. He wasn't afraid one bit to contest her terms.

Carla blinked gently, and soon enough, tears began to roll down her cheeks. "What about me? What

should I do?"

Terence's hand went to Carla's chin to carefully raise her face, making her look at him directly.

"Originally, I was going to consider you as my wife as well. But with how you're acting for the past days,

I don't think you're even qualified to be my lover."

When she heard what he had just said, anger started to boil within Carla. She didn't know how to

respond to him.

After a while, Carla waved his hand away and said with a smile, "Really? How do you know that I'm not

qualified if you haven't even tried?"

"There is no need to try," Terence shortly stated. He then grabbed her arm and pulled her into the

bathroom.

He held her from behind, holding her chin with one hand and forcing her to look at their reflection in the

mirror. The bathroom mirror was wide, it not only reflected their faces but everything that they had.

They could see themselves from head to toe. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

"Look at yourself! Do you think you're deserving of me? And on top of that, you still have an arrogant

and rude temper! Even if you gave birth to a daughter of mine, you still don't deserve even a glance

from me!"

Carla bit her lips tightly and looked at their reflection in the mirror.

She was a little haggard at that moment. In the past four years, what she ate and wore were the

cheapest and the quality was terrible. She couldn't even recognize herself. She was so far from the

Carla who was gently cared for by Terence years ago.

"And look at your hands! Look at how rough and calloused they are! You don't even deserve to be a

maid in our family! You're no better than a village woman, don't you think?!

With all of this, you still have the nerve to want to come back to my life so easily? How do you think that

would be possible?"
