Chapter 2
It wasn’t until he heard the door open and saw the petite nurse entering and bowing that he realized he was in the hospital. He was a bit dissatisfied with himself because he fainted on the road.
“You no longer have a fever.” The nurse smiled slightly and spoke softly.
Dylan did not answer, reached for the phone, and dialed Paul’s number.
“Come pick me up.”
“I’m going through hospital discharge procedures, I’ll be right here, boss.”
Paul quickly received the hospital bill receipt and ran to the hospital room. Last night, Paul had to lie to Dylan’s mother that he was entertaining guests and was so drunk that he slept over at the company and did not dare tell the truth.
Just ten minutes later, the shiny car left the hospital and sped down the road.
Paul drove while looking at the rearview mirror. His mouth seemed to want to say something but then stopped. He hesitated for a long time, his appearance quite funny.
“What’s the problem?” Dylan asked, his face still lowered to the phone, not looking up.
“Boss, are you going home now or going somewhere?”
“Go to the company.”
“Yes, but don’t you rest a bit?”
“No need. Please help me find information about the girl we met yesterday.”
“Boss, rest assured.” Paul smiled triumphantly because investigating others is his specialty.
Globan Group today welcomed one group of customers after another. Because Dylan didn’t feel well, he just stayed in his office, leaving diplomatic matters to Stephen.
Stephen received guests from morning to afternoon, so his throat was dry and his face was listless.
As soon as Stephen entered Dylan’s office, he slammed his hands on the table and spoke with resentment.
“Brother, I want to change jobs.”
“Why?”
“No reason, I don’t want to have to receive guests like this all day.”
“Just for today.”
“If there is today, there will be tomorrow, I am a real photographer, so why don’t you let me work in the entertainment and media field? That place will promote my talent.”
“Haven’t you received nearly a dozen groups of guests today? You did very well.”
“But I’m very bored because it’s not my forte. Dylan, please send Mr. Lyle to manage this construction part, let me replace him to manage the entertainment part.”
“No way.”
“Why?”
“Young master, this is work, not a game. Don’t worry, in a few days, someone will come to help you, in your free time you can go to Lyle’s place to satisfy your passion. As for this project director position, it certainly cannot be changed.”NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
After Stephen heard Dylan’s last words, his face became sad, he left the desk and lay down on the sofa.
Stephen’s father was originally a shareholder of Global Group. Now that he is older, he wants to return to the countryside to live a leisurely life.
As soon as Stephen finished studying abroad, his father lured him here to help with a few things.
Although Stephen does not have any expertise related to business, because he is the son of a businessman, business blood flows in him.
Not long after he arrived at Global Corporation, from an ordinary employee, he was quickly promoted.
In the end, his position was this, below one person and above many people, deputy general director who was also project manager.
So he knew he had been tricked by his father and that the guy named Dylan was also on his father’s side.
Stephen originally intended to work as a small employee so he could continue to pursue his passion, but as a result, he now sits in a place where no one else dares to sit.
They told him to wait until they found a suitable person to take over this position and then release him. But as a result, over the years, there has been no one more suitable than him. Life is so unfair to him.
Global Group is a transnational multi-industry corporation, including key industries in finance, investment, real estate, healthcare, education, fashion, media, and entertainment… with countless large and small headquarters, restaurant chains, hotels, and resorts spread throughout the country and abroad.
Dylan and Stephen are the next two heirs. Dylan’s mother handed over all management of the corporation to him and withdrew from the business market.
As for Stephen, although the shares are still in his father’s name, he is Neil’s only son.
In the past, when the Southern company was on the verge of bankruptcy and Dylan was seriously injured, Neil, also his mother’s old classmate, appeared and agreed to contribute capital to help.
Later, when Dylan returned to take over the company, he changed the name of the Southern company to Global, and he also changed his name. The Nathan of the past is the Dylan of the present.
Hearing a knock on the door, both guys looked up at the same time.
Paul held a thin stack of papers in his hand and glanced sideways and then vertically.
When he saw Stephen lying on the sofa, he paused for a few seconds, but then quickly walked over and gave the documents to Dylan.
Looking at Paul’s appearance from the moment he entered until now, Stephen always felt something was wrong.
Looking up at Dylan who was focusing on the pages, Stephen saw that the more he read, the darker and grimmer his face became.
Stephen didn’t know anything serious had happened, so he couldn’t lie still and quickly got up.
“What happened?”
“Nothing. Aren’t you planning to go home? You’re not tired yet?” Dylan quickly folded the documents and opened the drawer to put them in.
“Don’t talk nonsense, I’m asking you?”
“Not the company’s business.” Dylan replied concisely.
“So it’s your business?” Stephen rested his chin on the desk and blinked.
“Deputy general manager, just now I saw the goddess Rosalind in the main lobby.” Paul spoke to break the awkward atmosphere.
“Are you talking about actress Rosalind who plays the female lead in the movie Bright Moonlight?” Stephen stood up straight and eagerly asked.
“Right. It’s her.”
“Wow. Paul, thank you for your information. Beauty, here I come.”
After saying that, Stephen quickly jumped out of the room and went straight.
