Chapter 21

Shelmaine recognized the car behind hers–it was Samuel’s.

However, she decided to not pay attention to it and comforted herself by telling herself that he was just going in the same direction.

When Shelmaine arrived at the entrance of her residential complex, she instructed the driver to go inside.

As Shelmaine got out of the car and was about to enter the lobby, ber phone rang

Upon seeing that it was a local unknown number, she hesitated. But ultimately, she decided to ignore it, thinking it couldn’t possibly be a client at this hour. So, she simply hung up and went into the elevator.

Once she was home, Shelmaine’s first priority was to head to the bathroom. She had just gotten pregnant and was still in the early stages of it. Naturally, her condition wasn’t stable, and she would still need to go for regular check–ups at the hospital.

This left her mind feeling restless and unsettled.

Suddenly, a WhatsApp message popped up on her phone. It was a message from none other than Samuel.

“Unblock me.”

Shelmine had blocked Samuel from her WhatsApp previously out of anger as she did not want any further entanglements with him.

This time was no different. So, she swiftly blocked and ignored him.

Yet, Samuel persisted and used a new number to text her and even called her to ask why she had blocked him

Irritated, she called him back and said, “Are you going to stop?”

There was a pause on the other end of the line before Samuel spoke, “Remove me from your blacklist.”

“What do you want?”

“Nothing” Samuel simply replied

“Are you playing games with me? Samuel, do you find this amusing? Have you not had enough after three years?” shelmain said in frustration.

“Why do you think I’m playing games with you?” came Samuel’s deep voice.

Shelmaine’s peace was disrupted once more. She exclaimed, “If you have nothing to discuss, don’t contact me again. I don’t want your new girlfriend to get jealous. Please.” However, Samuel didn’t hang up. Instead, he said, “What I said during the divorce still stands. If you need anything, you can tell me.”

He was probably offering compensation for the Hasting residence that he had promised her but ended up giving to Natasha.

Shelmine wasn’t interested in making things difficult, so she said, “Fine. Just keep your distance from me. I don’t want to see either of you again.”

“I’m outside your place,” Samuel simply responded.

“What do you want now? Can’t you just leave me alone?” Shrimane was almost pleading with him now.

“Am I really that bad in your eyes?

Samuelchuckled “Why did you marry me then?”

“Imade a mistake. It’s only human to make mistakes. I only blame myself for not seeing your true nature earlier.” Shelmaine was exhausted. She softened her tone. “I don’t owe you anything, Samuel, I really don’t. I’m begging you to leave me alone, okay? Please.”

Then, she ended the call, not wanting to deal with him for another moment

Not long after hanging up, her phone rang gain

Shelmaine initially thought that it was Samuel calling back, but upon checking the screen, she saw that it was Isabelle.

She sighed in relief and answered the call.

“Shelly, how’s Demi’s situation? Isabelle asked.

Shrimaine straightened her posture. “I don’t know. I’m not involved in it.”

“Why does your voice sound so off? Did something happen?”

“Kainued callerline just now, and be upset me a bit.”

“Why was he bothering you again? is he done with creating trouble? Not only has Natasha been causing problems, but he still has the nerve to bother you tool is he looking to cause trouble for you on her bchat?
