Kevin drank the remaining wine in his glass.
“I have other matters to attend to, so I won’t be going with you.”
“I’ll be heading to the office with Maddie,” Andrew added.
When he heard that Andrew was taking Madelyn to the office, Roger couldn’t resist teasing. “You’re taking her everywhere with you now?”
Madelyn glared at Roger fiercely, annoyed by his constant teasing.
Roger chuckled indulgently.
“Well, it’s good to keep her close. Otherwise, she’d elope with someone else!”
Madelyn could feel Andrew tense up beside her. She took a sharp intake of breath. Roger might be smart, but his emotional intelligence seemed to be lacking.
As they made their way out, the door to another private dining room opened. Elijah emerged, making Andrew and the others visibly tense. Elena and Easton followed him out from behind.
Elena’s breath hitched when she saw Madelyn. However, she forced a smile and approached them. NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
“Maddie, you’re here too?”
While speaking, Elena sneaked some glances at Roger and Kevin. She thought about how the Miller men seemed to all inherit good genes.
Elena had seen Roger and Kevin before. Back then, they were overshadowed by Andrew.
As they grew older, they each had their unique charm that was hard to resist.
Madelyn’s expression darkened. She extended her hand out to Andrew’s.
“Let’s go, darling.”
She didn’t want to create a scene with Elena in front of everyone. Elena’s expression changed slightly.
When Easton noticed Madelyn, he looked slightly guilty. He was still trying to find a way to win Madelyn back, especially since she held the shares he desperately wanted.
“Uncle Roger, Uncle Kevin, Uncle Andrew!” Easton greeted them politely.
The atmosphere, already tense, now grew even more charged.
Roger and Kevin exchanged a glance. They chose to ignore Easton.
However, Andrew’s expression turned stern.
“Aren’t you going to greet Madelyn?”
Easton felt embarrassed at Andrew’s remark. Madelyn tugged on Andrew’s arm.
“Let’s
go, darling. I’m tired of dealing with the
Madelyn’s open disdain for Elijah was unmistakable. Upon hearing Madelyn express her weariness of dealing with them, Easton’s face paled even further.
Andrew looked at Madelyn, and a soft smile played on his lips.
He said, “Alright. If you don’t want to, then let’s not waste any more time here.”

With that, he led her away without a backward glance. Easton’s and Elena’s faces stiffened, especially Elena’s. Although Madelyn didn’t lash out at her, the overt disregard in front of everyone still embarrassed
her.
Roger and Kevin had never gotten along well with Easton. At the sight of Madelyn and Andrew leaving, they followed suit.
Elena watched their tall, imposing figures retreat. She felt a momentary pang of envy and regret.
Her mind raced. She thought that perhaps she wouldn’t be at odds with Madelyn now if only she had fallen for Roger or Kevin instead of Easton back then.
Not only that, but she might have fulfilled her dream of marrying into the Miller family.
Elijah’s–face was dark with anger. He snorted and walked away, leaving Easton and Elena alone. Elena glanced at Easton, whose eyes were evasive, and her anger intensified.
She wondered how she ended up with this fool.
“I’m moving to Lakeview Villa today. Make sure everything is ready there,” Elena said.
She barely hid the fury in her voice.
Easton retorted, “Don’t forget what you need to do next!”
Many things happened during this period. Despite the growing tension between them, they still had to cooperate.
Elena seethed and said, “Don’t worry. I have a plan.”
Now that the Garcia family was finished, she couldn’t afford any mishaps on Easton’s side. The thought of being entirely with Easton made Elena sick,
