Loving My Brother’s Best Friend

When they were catching their breath back after the wild encounter on the office table, the knock on the door startled them.

“I’m busy, come later,” Cole responded, pulling up his boxer and pants while she jumped down the table and yanked up her undies and jeans.

When she stepped into her apartment, she dashed towards Ethan, who was working on his laptop in the hall.

“Yes, it is his bracelet.” She nodded, caressing the bracelet with a smile on her face.

“So you changed this thing also about him. I’m impressed.” Ethan praised her, but her brows narrowed in confusion because she couldn’t figure out why he said this.

“Which thing?” She arched her brows at him.

“He never used to share his belongings with anybody, and now see he gifted you this bracelet. You completely transformed him.” Ethan told her, and she just smiled, feeling extremely fortunate to be the only one with whom he shared his belongings. He made her feel things she couldn’t even put into words.

“You know, Ethan, when Cole gifted me this bracelet, I kept it in my bag to hide it from you, but somebody stole my bag and I lost the bracelet. I was so upset after losing it because it is precious to me.” She told Ethan, stroking the bracelet.

“Then how did you find it?” He inquired, and his eyes glinted with curiosity.

“Cole caught the thief and brought it back for me. He can do anything for my happiness, Ethan. You have no clue how much he loves me.” She merrily told him.

“I’m so glad you have him with you.” He expressed his delight, placing his hand on her face, and she beamed at him.

“And you know Cole was the only friend I was going to make you meet yesterday.”

“Oh, so he was the only one who took care of you during your periods and forced you to have medicine, right?”

She nodded, smiling. “And he used to come to meet me in my room through the window.” She laughed out after telling him this, and when she realised she blurted out the truth in the heat of the moment, she adorably bit her tongue, arching her brows.

“So this was all happening behind my back.” He gave her a fake glare, and she hid her face in his chest, mortified.

She stepped into her room, and her smile faded as she turned the bracelet and didn’t find Cole’s name on it that she had written with the permanent marker a few days before losing the bracelet.

Her face hung down in sadness when she understood that it wasn’t the same bracelet which he had gifted her on their first night; he purchased the new one and lied to her.

‘It means he didn’t catch the thief, he was lying to me. I’m such a fool that I believed him. In the happiness of getting back the bracelet, I didn’t even realise that if he found the bracelet, why didn’t he find my bag.’ She sat on the bed, disheartened.

‘But he did this for my happiness. He just couldn’t see me upset, so he lied to me for my sake. Now, for his sake, I’m not going to tell him that I got to know that it isn’t the old bracelet. If he can do so much for me, why can’t I do the same for him? Now I won’t be bothered by small issues in my life because I have a life partner like Cole, who cares deeply about my happiness. He is truly my treasure. Nothing matters to me if he is with me.’ She made the decision not to cry over minor issues.

“And now I’ll keep this bracelet safe with me forever.” She kissed the bracelet and smiled, gazing at it affectionately. Her love for him was unfathomable; no one can imagine loving anyone the way she loved him. Her love was completely selfless and divinely pure.

At night, Cole and Reyna were lying naked in each other’s arms in Reyna’s room after the wild make-out session. Her eyes sparkled as Cole pulled out his black chain from his neck and put it around her neck.

“Why did you make me wear your necklace?” She asked him bemusedly.

“From today I’ll gift you something special after our every loving making. Like this, you’ll have so many gifts, and then you won’t cry after losing one of them.” As he told her, her eyes widened in surprise after knowing this.

She became speechless and just hugged him, smiling broadly and feeling extremely fortunate to have a man like him in her life.

“I love you.” She pulled apart and whispered against his lips before kissing them. “This gift is so precious to me.” She held the necklace and kissed it.

“I love you so much, Kiddo.” He chastely kissed her lips.

“Next time I’ll also gift you something.” She told him merrily.

“Why next time? I want something from you right now.”
