Chapter 3321 Freeloading
The ancestral hall fell into complete silence.
Glaucus' face darkened as he stared at Two. "What about the tool?" Two's voice slightly trembled as he answered, "He... He's also gone."
"What did you just say?!" Glaucus shot to his feet, grabbing Two by the throat. "Gone? Ha! How convenient. Why don't you just tell me he's joined the Martial League?"
His face, usually calm, now showed traces of agitation. The servant who had been tracking Matthew had disappeared, and even One, his most trusted pawn, had vanished. If what they knew reached Matthew, Glaucus would be utterly destroyed. "What are you doing standing here for?! Mobilize every resource the Mirren Family has and find them, quietly!" Glaucus barked at Two, still kneeling in front of him. His frustration grew; none of his subordinates ever seemed capable of delivering results. "Yes, sir. I'll start searching right away!" Two's figure quickly vanished, but his departure did little to soothe Glaucus' growing unease.
...
On the street, Matthew strolled leisurely, with Shawn following close behind, along with the black-clad servant and One, whose hands were still bound.
Matthew led them casually past the gates of the Mirren Estate as if they were simply taking a walk.
Just as they reached the gates, Two stepped out and spotted them. His face instantly changed as he recognized the servant and One, both now prisoners. Without hesitation, he turned and sprinted back inside.
"Mr. Mirren, Mr. Mirren!" he shouted, bursting into the ancestral hall, where Glaucus was still brooding.
"What's all this shouting about? Have you found them?" Glaucus asked, frowning.
Gasping for breath, Two managed to blurt out, "I... I found them!"
Glaucus quickly moved to stand in front of Two. "Where are they? Have you brought them back?"
Relaxing slightly, he gave Two a rare look of approval. For the first time, he thought Two had done something right.
"No, sir... One, he's..."
"Where is he?" Glaucus grabbed Two's shoulders, his grip tight enough to cause visible pain.
Two winced but quickly continued, "He's with Matthew Larson, just now passing by the front gate of the estate."
Two's words hit Glaucus like a bolt
of lightning, reverberating in his mind. He stood there, face grim. The servant, and One had fallen into
Matthew's hands. That meant all the
dirty deeds he'd committed
Over the
years-Matthew likely knew every
single one.
No. Wait! If he's learned about everything, why hasn't he come for me directly? Why is he just wandering around the gates with those two? What is he trying to communicate? Suddenly, his eyes lit up, realizing what Matthew wanted.
"Two, take the neighborhood that was transferred to me this morning and give it to the Summit Warden. Tell him I heard he plans to build a martial arts academy, and I'm willing to donate the property."
Matthew hadn't acted yet because
of the neighborhood deal. If Glaucus
offered it up willingly, perhaps Matthew would spare him, at least for the time being. Otherwise, the guillotine hanging over his head would surely fall.
"Right away, sir."
Glaucus didn't dare face Matthew in person. Otherwise, he would have gone himself, carrying all the paperwork directly to him. But the fear that Matthew might kill him on the spot kept him rooted in place.

Not far from the Mirren Estate, Matthew stood calmly beneath a tree, seemingly waiting for something.
"Mr. Summit Warden, this is from my master, the patriarch of the Mirren Family."
