“It’s the truth though.”

Simon smirked and brought his tea mug closer to his lips.

“Alright, I can’t lie. You know me too well.”

Greg raised his hands in surrender.

“Then spill the beans.”

Simon took another sip from his mug.

“Alright, I came here because of my company.”

“What about P&P printing Co?”

Simon asked calmly.

“I need a promotion…”

“You mean ‘another’ ?”

Simon interrupted and said rudely.

“Yes. Another.”

“OK. What exactly do you want me to promote this time?”

Simon placed a hand on his chin. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“You know I’ll be creating a sub-company soon for Phoebe since she’s back from Britain now.”

“Oh yeah. Phoebe! How’s she doing now? Hope she’s getting reused to American soil?”

Simon asked concerned.

“She’s very fine Simon. She sends her greetings.”

Greg replied and took a sip from his mug.

“OK. Continue with what you were saying earlier.”

Simon said with that familiar air of authority and Greg took one more sip before setting his mug down on the table.

“I’d love it if Green cosmetics partner with Phoebe’s sub comp.”

Greg finalized.

“Do I look like I handle April’s cosmetic company?”

Simon asked in respite.

“No. I know…”

Greg started, but he was cut off.

“You know very well April handles that company. Why did you come to me?”

“As they say, the road to the heart is through the stomach…”

Greg said and paused waiting for Simon to comment, but since he didn’t… He decided to go on.

“… Knowing April well, I felt as her Dad, you’d be in a better position to talk to her about this.”

Greg completed.

“Hmm… Through the stomach huh? Alright. I’ll talk to April, but…”

“But what?”

“I ain’t guaranteeing you nothing. I’ll talk to her, but April’s the CEO, so the decisions are totally up to her.”

Simon warned.

“I know.”

“Alright. That already said, are you leaving now?”

Simon asked with his eyebrows cocked.

“No actually, I have something else to say.”

“Get on with it as fast as you can.”

Simon took his mug, took a long drink from it, placed it back down, and leaned into the couch.

“Is Anderson home?”

“Of course not.”

“Went somewhere?”

Greg asked dumbly.

“No. Anderson moved into his own house when your daughter dumped him.”

Simon spat bitterly.

Greg felt stupid at this point.

“Oh, I didn’t know.”

“A lot has changed since three years, Greg.”

Simon said with his eyes hiding a lot of emotions.

Oh yeah!

I forgot to tell you.

About a month after Phoebe and Anderson split, their fathers’ relationship wasn’t as good and strong as before.

What am I saying?

It wasn’t strong as before at all.

It became damn weak.

Greg stopped visiting unless he had requests to make or deals to sign with Green Co.

That’s clearly what gave Simon the right to use that against him in his sentence.

Although he could have easily cut off ties with Greg, for the sake of old times… Simon kept the relationship going and continued granting Greg’s wishes.

“I understand you being angry about that Simon, but that’s part of the reason I’m here.”

Greg spoke up.

“Keep speaking.”

Simon said and took one sip from his tea mug, which unfortunately was the last.

“I know you want Phoebe and Anderson together, and I think it’s possible. What am I saying? I KNOW it is possible.”

Greg said.

Simon gave him a deep look.

“And how’s that possible? They split up years ago.”

“I know that, but every time I see Phoebe, she’s always staring at the scenery in front of the glass wall window in her room.”

Greg explained.

“So what does that count as?”

Simon asked bored.

“Phoebe only stands staring at that glass wall when there’s something on her mind… And there’s usually only one thing on her mind during that time.”

Greg explained further.

“And what’s that?”

“Anderson!”

Greg replied.

“How do you know that?”

Simon asked.

“Common Simon, I’m her Dad. I’ve been watching and raising her for Twenty Two years.”

Greg said.

Simon sighed.

“I guess that’s true. So what do we do now?”

Greg smiled and signaled to Simon to inch closer.

… Then he whispered into his ear.

“That’ll work.”

Simon commented.

“Of course, it will!”

Greg replied.

↬ Anderson’s Home ↫

Ding dong!

The doorbell chimed.

Anderson was already out of his play station room and now occupied with his favorite movie playing on the TV screen in his sitting room.

Ding dong!

The doorbell chimed again and Anderson growled.

“Alexa, come get the door!”

Anderson screamed at the top of his voice unwilling to move a muscle out of the couch he was sitting on comfortably.

Alexa rolled her eyes and breathed hard.

“Idiot… He can’t even get his door.”

Alexa sighed and walked out of his room.

Anderson cocked his head to the side and saw her descending the stairs lazily.

“Be fast stupid!”

Anderson cursed.

“I’m already fast as it is!”

Alexa breathed back at him just as rudely.

“You’re walking like a slug. That’s not fast.”

“I never asked to be pushed to work too hard, dork!”

Alexa cursed back as her right foot landed on the floorboard with the left still on the last step.

“Whatever. Just hurry up, Lazy.”

Anderson said and returned to the movie he had watched over a hundred times.

“I should be calling you that.”

Alexa muttered as she passed right in front of him hoping he wouldn’t hear.

No… She wanted him to hear her, but looking at him, she knew he didn’t after all.

“Gosh!

I wish I had said it a little bit louder.”

Alexa said inwardly.

Alexa got to the door after taking a few steps and grunted in frustration.

Anderson had made her climb down the staircase for nothing.

The door was thumb locked!

She crossed over to Anderson and stood behind him, making sure she did all this without making any noise.

“Hey b¡tch! This door needs your fvcking thumb!”

Alexa yelled, startling Anderson.

Anderson jumped out of his seat in fright, his countenance changing when he realized Alexa did that shit.

“Why’d you fvcking do that?!”

Anderson yelled annoyed as he rose.

“Your door is thumb locked. Go open it.”

“Did you have to shout that and make me jump?”

Anderson cocked his brow in anger.

“No. But it was fun doing it You made me climb down here for nothing.”

“Fun huh?”

“Yeah.”

“I’ll get back at you for this.”

“Wish you the best of luck”

Alexa replied half sarcastic.

“You’re such a case.”

Anderson muttered and punched his way through the air, to the door.

“I know dork.”

Alexa muttered in reply and made to walk away.

… But Anderson’s next word froze her to the ground.

“Phoebe?”

‘Phoebe? Who’s phoebe?’

Alexa thought.

‘I’m certainly not Phoebe… Maybe he forgot my name or something.’

Alexa turned swiftly.

“Anderson, I’m not…”

Alexa started, but when she saw that Anderson was standing in front of the open door, she realized he was referring to someone else.

… But who?

“Hi, Andy.”

Phoebe greeted expecting Anderson to show her in, but when Anderson continued standing in front of the door, his mouth wide open, she giggled and gently pushed her way in.

The smile resting on Phoebe’s face disappeared when her eyes fell on Alexa.

Anderson recovered from his haze, closed the door, and walked toward Phoebe, but her next question threw him off guard.

“Who’s she Anderson?”
