Chapter 20 Rachel Lang's Birthday Party
It had been raining consecutively for one week in Rock City. The rainy weather was starting to make
people feel depressed.
The CEO office of the Montgomery Corporation was filled with the aroma of coffee.
William Montgomery just finished another meeting and handed the signed document to his assistant.
"Let the finance department recheck it. If there's no problem, tell the legal team to start the acquisition."
"Yes sir."
"Push Mr. Hall to reduce the price by three more percent. If he doesn't want to, you might suggest that
Helios Corporation is also in contact with us and their price is lower."
"I have a feeling Mr. Hall will agree. The business department is already working on the contract."
"Great." William nodded and took a sip of his coffee. One cream, no sugar, just the way he prefers.
"One more thing, Mr. Montgomery, this is an invitation sent by Miss Rachel Lang."
The assistant took out an invitation from the pile of documents he was holding and put it on the desk.
"This Saturday is Miss Lang's birthday. The Lang family is going to hold a birthday banquet at Rock
City Regency Hotel."
"Rachel Lang?"
"She's the lead actress in an upcoming film the company invested in, you've met her before."
William naturally knew who Rachel Lang was. In addition to investing in movies, he also knew that she
was Emma Lang's sister.
Seeing that William didn't respond, his assistant thought maybe he didn't want to go.
"Mr. Montgomery, would you like me to purchase a gift and send it in your place and tell Miss Lang you
are busy that day?"
Looking at the invitation card, William's eyes squinted, and his lips slightly parted. "No need, I have
time on Saturday."
The assistant raised his brow in surprise, but quickly nodded. "I'll RSVP right away."
William did not touch the invitation card on the table, but picked up the report that appeared on his desk
a few days ago, regarding the birth date of the two children.
The first page was a copy of their birth certificate with their exact time of birth.
Calculating the time Emma broke up with him, to the time of the twin's birth… it means the children
could be his.
Could these two really be…?
William pulled out a cigarette and lit it. He didn't notice that his hands were slightly trembling.
……
Saturday was finally sunny! There wasn't even a single cloud in the sky.
At first, when Emma received the invitation from Rachel Lang, she thought her sister had sent it to the
wrong address. However, the invitation had her name on it.
It's not that Emma did not think that Rachel might have ulterior motives for inviting her. But the birthday
party was her only chance to see her father, so she had to attend no matter what.
Emma Lang arrived at the Regency hotel early.
As soon as she entered, she saw Rachel Lang waving at her from afar. "Emma! Come here, this way!"
Emma Lang's heart tightened when she saw the familiar figure behind Rachel Lang from afar. Her legs
felt weak at the sudden sight of her father.
Compared to 7 years ago, her father was obviously much older. His back was no longer straight and he
had quite a lot more gray hairs.
When he saw Emma, Mr. Lang's smiling face suddenly disappeared.
"Dad." Emma walked up to him but didn't dare to take another step forward.
She felt guilty and blamed herself for her father's aging. Her departure from Rock City really left its toll
on him.
"Emma?" Aunt Barbara recognized Emma. "It really is you, Emma!" Then Aunt Barbara turned to
Emma's father and said, "It's been so long that I almost didn't recognize her."

she had gone abroad to study?"
The relatives were babbling and no one noticed the subtle atmosphere between Joseph Lang and his
daughter.
Rachel Lang stood in the middle of the crowd and smiled. "My sister is currently a doctor at Saint Mary
Hospital. She's working hard and saving lives.”
Emma looked at Rachel in astonishment. She never imagined that she would speak for her in front of
relatives.
