Chapter 6027, Black Ink Pool

Author: Silavin

Mo’s words suddenly became a blur. It was not that Yang Xu and Yang Ji were unable to hear it. Rather, it just sounded incomprehensible, as though this knowledge was not allowed to be heard by them. Even Mo Na Ye could not make sense of those words.

Meanwhile, Mo just felt as if nothing was off initially. He only noticed what happened after seeing their expressions.

He did not even bother to ask them about it, since he did not know what could and could not be said at this point. Nevertheless, such details were not important at the moment. When they reached that stage, where such information could be received, they would eventually find out about what he had said earlier

As though quickly trying to move on from the topic, Mo just directed them, “The two of you would need to strengthen yourselves first. Ideally, be strong enough to completely resist my Black Ink Strength. Mo Na Ye, guide them to the Black Ink Pool to train.”

Mo Na Ye, having sensed Mo was usually sharp in his tone, immediately responded. “Yes, Holy One.”

He turned around and led the children out of the thatched house.NôvelDrama.Org © content.

The twins looked back, a little reluctant to leave, since they wanted to know more about what had been said. However, from how Mo Na Ye was urging them to move, they knew better than to remain.

Once he made sure they were a distance away, Mo immediately spat out something akin to blood. He could not help but scoff, “A warning, huh?”

Currently, in this settlement, besides Mo, Mo Na Ye was basically the one in command. He was highly respected by everyone in the Black Ink Clan. This was not respect that stemmed from just how strong he was. That did play apart, as it was their instinct to do so. However, a large portion of how he was so respected was his intellect and kindness to his fellow Clansmen regardless of how weak or strong they were.

This was definitely unimaginable before he died. But, this was how he was right now.

Such a scene was proven by the excited waving he received from passersby. In the past, they would have been shaking in fear at a mere sight of him.

Waving? That would have been impossible. Grovelling or bowing was the most common sight when a Royal Lord met with beings much weaker than them.

In fact, the clansmen’s welcome extended even to the twins, which was quite shocking to them. After all, it was the Humans who had pushed their kind back to this desolate place. They would have at least expected some hostility from the other party, but that did not seem to be the case. At most, it was fear. Hostility did not seem to exist between them.

As the twins walked behind Mo Na Ye, he asked them. “Did this sight shock the two of you? Were you expecting something else?”

Both children nodded, which sparked Mo Na Ye to grin. “It was definitely not like this in the past. For some reason, our personalities seem to have changed over time. When I think back on it, all that hatred for the living and love for violence seemed to have been truly misplaced.”

Mo Na Ye said with a hint of pride. “Well, I’m not saying that we do not have such inclinations, but they seemed to have lessened by a lot. Now, everyone has basically become something akin to family, unlike before.”

“Why is that the case?” Yang Ji, curious, could not help but ask.

“The Holy One had said that this is due to his powers. The blessings and happiness in your world is somehow tied to how potent his Black Ink Strength is. When there are large wars, mayhem and grief, his Black Ink Strength would become so strong it would become uncontrollable. That’s why the Holy One does not act out as rashly as before…”

Mo Na Ye continued to explain how Mo’s Source had been divided into 3,000 pieces, that each piece had different levels of corruption from Black Ink Strength. The current Mo that they had just met, was one of the four surviving Source pieces. The rest had been absorbed by the remaining three – with Little Eleven being an outlier.

It was unfortunate that the remaining two hostile Source pieces had completely lost themselves to Black Ink Strength, and were now basically acting on instinct.

Yang Ji and Yang Xu naturally did not take Mo Na Ye’s words as facts. After all, they were still unaware of the whole situation. Nevertheless, Yang Xu was well acquainted with the concept of ‘in every lie, there is some semblance of truth’ from Mother Ru Meng. As for Yang Ji, he just plainly did not trust them.

Soon, the three reached another mountain top, which was in the form of a volcano. What was supposed to be lava, was filled with an extremely thick layer of Black Ink Strength Fluid. In fact, from what they could see, this seemed to be a reservoir for Black Ink Strength Fluid.

Mo Na Ye advised them, “The Holy One has instructed me to just oversee you two, and pull your two back to the shore if necessary. Other than that, you are free to dive as deep as you want.”

“What do you think?” Yang Xu asked Yang Ji through her Divine Sense.

“Not like we can run away with him overseeing us. We might as well just train for now.” Yang Ji replied also using his Divine Sense while giving a nod to Mo Na Ye.

“I’ll go in first.” Yang Ji said, as he stepped forward and soaked his feet inside.

Immediately, he could be seen frozen in place, not moving an inch. There was a grimace on his face, and some beads of sweat. His body could be seen to tense up, as his breathing quickened.

Yang Xu was on standby, in case anything were to happen.

Fortunately, it was a false alarm as Yang Ji could be seen slowly moving forward another step before stopping again.

Yang Xu stared at her Brother for a bit before calling out to him. “Are you okay?”

There was no immediate response. It took about a minute or so before he responded. “Yeah. I’m quickly getting used to this. You should come in too.”

Following him, Yang Xu also started to dip her feet inside. Immediately, a rush of emotions hit her. Instead of the images and memories like before, these were pure emotions that seemed to manifest inside of her and outside of her at the same time.

She wanted to scream but she could feel her muscles all tensed up, no longer under her control. She could not tell what facial expression she was making, but it certainly was something she could not consciously control.

A second felt like an hour, and a minute felt like an eternity.

Screams of pain and shrieks of fear could be heard, if not felt directly.

The only difference was that she was still somewhat aware of her surroundings. It was a strange feeling, as she was bordering between lucidity and confusion. For some reason, when she saw her Brother seemingly take another step forward, she started to panic.

Once a true negative emotion started to well up from within her, it felt as if the dam had broken through and a flood of something corrupting her had gotten in.

Fortunately, before that had happened, she heard a familiar voice, “Hey, are you okay?”

Soon, a pair of warm hands were tightly embracing her shoulders, giving her the warmth to wake up from this nightmare.

“Huh?” When Yang Xu regained consciousness, she immediately saw her Brother’s panicked expression. This made her heart feel warm and those negative feelings dissipated into nothingness.

“What an interesting pair.” Mo Na Ye could not help but mutter at the sight of these two.
