As soon as he spoke, he asked, “Are you afraid to come?”

Only then did Shadow recall what she had said earlier.

She returned to her room to change her clothes before heading to the Golden Fountain Club.

As Shadow reached the entrance of the club, she ran into Xavier.

Upon seeing her, Xavier’s face filled with joy. His eyes kept searching behind her. “Shadow, why are

you here too? Did you come alone?”

“Don’t bother looking around. I came alone.” Shadow knew exactly why Xavier was curious he wanted to know if Hazel had accompanied her.

A slight unhappiness appeared on Xavier’s face.

He was aware that Hazel had already gone to promote her new film. Since Hazel and Shadow were close, he couldn’t help but associate the two when he saw Shadow.

Walking side by side with her, Xavier inquired, “Are you here to eat or to find someone?”

After considering for a moment, Shadow casually replied, “I’m here to find Alpha Kilian. He asked me to come.”

“Alpha Kilian? I know which room he’s in. Let me lead the way.” Xavier sensed something was amiss.

His face froze, and he explained unnaturally, “What I meant was…”

“I understand. ‘Alpha Dominic’ is Alpha Kilian. I know everything. He told me everything. You don’t have to cover for him anymore.”

Shadow’s tone and expression were flawlessly natural, causing Xavier to believe her without much doubt.

After all, Xavier could sense that Alpha Kilian cared deeply for Shadow. It was only a matter of time before the two admitted their feelings to each other.

Feeling a slight envy, Xavier thought, “This is quite good.”

The last trace of doubt vanished from Shadow’s heart. “Alpha Dominic” was Alpha Kilian!

If she were not the one being deceived, she would’ve admired his methods.

“Alpha Kilian is in here.” Xavier brought her to the door of the room, about to push it open.

Shadow halted him in time. “Xavier, nobody else knows about my relationship with Alpha Kilian. Don’t tell anyone.”

At first, Xavier didn’t understand, yet suddenly he showed a look of comprehension. “I understand. Alpha Kilian usually has a bad temper and a cold expression. But deep down, he is warm-hearted. He simply doesn’t express his emotions.”

Shadow didn’t say a word. She could only hide the shock in her heart with a smile.

She turned around and pushed the door open, entering the room.

The room was unusually large, with numerous people inside. The lighting was dim, and Shadow stood at the entrance, surveying the scene. However, she couldn’t locate Alpha Kilian.

It wasn’t until a man approached her and made advances, saying, “Beauty, are you looking for someone to have fun with?”

Shadow remained silent and walked straight ahead.

The man felt upset at being ignored by Shadow and reached out to grab her, but a hand suddenly intervened.

Alpha Kilian stood tall and erect, his expression solemn, his eyes as sharp as swords. It felt as though he could pierce through anyone with a single glance.

Alpha Kilian stared at the man in front of him without any expression, his voice gloomy. “She has a Mate.”

The man knew better than to offend Alpha Kilian and quickly apologized before scurrying away.

“You don’t usually stay home, but you come to a place like this for entertainment?” Shadow briefly glanced around and noticed several couples hiding in the corners.

“How could that be?” Alpha Kilian whispered. “I’ve been thinking about you, sister-in-law.”

Shadow gritted her teeth, resisting the urge to curse. She softened her tone. “How touching.”

“If you find it touching, make sure to learn your lessons well later.”

Upon finishing his sentence, Alpha Kilian’s arm firmly wrapped around Shadow’s waist.

He pulled her into his embrace and led her to a dark corner at the back of the room.

This corner was devoid of any lighting. If others didn’t pay close attention, they wouldn’t notice anyone seated there.

Shadow didn’t know what game Alpha Kilian was playing, but she would soon find out.

The two of them had barely settled down when someone else entered the room. It was a familiar face Henry.

As soon as Henry entered, he was forcefully guided to sit down.

Shortly after, another person was brought in a woman.

The woman settled herself next to Henry. The closer she sat, the more intimate their positioning became. Eventually, she ended up sitting directly in his lap.

Henry made no effort to push her away.

Shadow averted her gaze. She didn’t want to witness such a scene again.

Alpha Kilian suddenly asked, “What’s wrong? Are you saddened to see the person you like hugging another woman?”

Shadow was in a foul mood. After Alpha Kilian asked, she replied, “Yes, I am. I’m very upset.”

She finally understood why Alpha Kilian had asked her to come. He believed that she had some connection with Henry. That was why he wanted her to witness Henry’s interactions with other women.

Henry disgusted her, and so did Alpha Kilian.

As soon as she finished speaking, a chill emanated from Alpha Kilian’s body.

She forced a smile and hugged him, using a gentle tone. “I was just joking. The person I currently like is you.”

Shadow’s hand reached down to touch Alpha Kilian’s chest.

She softly murmured, “It appears you like me quite a bit.”
