Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 119

Selena dashed into the guest bedroom, slammed the door shut, and locked it with swift precision.

It wasn't long before Everett came storming after her, pounding on the door in frustration. "Selena, get out here!"

Selena just chuckled to herself. She wasn't naive. Who knew what could happen if she stepped out now? Everett had no sense of self-control; his feelings for Margot wouldn't stop him from crossing a line.

For Selena though, love and intimacy were intertwined. She'd only get close to someone she truly cared about; otherwise, she just wasn't interested.

Even though the guest bed couldn't compare to the master bedroom's comforts, Selena made herself comfortable. She realized she needed to curb her spoiled habits, especially with a possible divorce looming ahead. Sooner or later, she'd have to get back to a normal life.

Everett stood outside the door, his face a mask of irritation, as he listened to the quiet inside. He gritted his teeth in frustration.

You couldn't wake someone pretending to sleep, after all. Eventually, he kicked the door in anger.

Back in the master bedroom, Everett lay down, trying to force himself to sleep. As the minutes ticked by, sleep eluded him, his mind spinning with thoughts of Selena and her infuriating antics.

A few minutes later, he shot upright, looking down at the problem at hand.

Damn it!

Grinding his teeth, he got up and stormed into the bathroom, turning on the cold shower to douse his frustration.

The next morning, Selena woke up feeling refreshed and in great spirits after a dreamless sleep.

When she returned to the master bedroom, Everett was already up, standing in front of the mirror tying his tie. She glanced at him and did a double take.

In the reflection, she saw his icy glare, and for someone who usually slept like a log, those dark circles were a rare sight.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

His eyes bored into hers, full of resentment.

Selena wasn't new to this game; she knew exactly what his expression meant. She couldn't help but feel a bit of smug satisfaction. "Feeling a bit frustrated, are we?"

Thinking about it, they used to have quite the active sex life. Now that they'd been on the outs for a while, it was no surprise he was out of sorts.

Everett snorted. "What do you think?"

Even his voice was dripping with frustration.

Selena nodded, surprising him by wrapping her arms around him from behind. "As your wife, I should fulfill your needs."

Her hug caught Everett off guard. Was she finally coming around after a night of thinking things over?

A slight smile played at the corners

of his mouth. He knew Selena couldn't really want a divorce. Since she seemed to be admitting her mistake, he could be generous and let it slide.

Everett turned, pulling her close, his hand cradling her head as he leaned in for a kiss. But Selena turned her

head away, teasing, "Not so fast, that's gonna cost you extra!"

Everett was shocked. She was definitely messing with him.

Annoyed, he pinched her side lightly, his pent-up desire making him reckless. "How much do you want? I'll pay!" Selena smirked to herself.

Once a man lets his desires take over, common sense flies out the window, and Everett was no exception.

With a cheeky grin, she said, "Half your fortune when we split!"

It was like a cold bucket of water thrown over him. Everett froze, then shoved her away. "You're playing games with me again?"

"Got it in one," Selena admitted,

e glancing suggestively downwards, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Since you're not willing to part with half your fortune, I guess you're on your own. Maybe your fingers can give you a hand."
