Chapter 72 A Domineering Euan Barged Into The Bathroom

The room smelled slightly of disinfectants mixed with a faint scent of gardenia.

Beyond the window was a night sky full of stars. Euan pushed the door to the balcony open and sat on

the chair she usually sat before. On the table, there was the glass which he used to drink water. And

out the window into the horizons was the flowers she had seen before.

In the early summer, flowers bloomed in the garden. However, Euan wrinkled his brows at the view.

Where were the gardenias in the garden? He remembered planting them before. How could there be

nothing during the blooming season?

Euan’s eyelids were gradually getting heavier, and when he couldn’t suppress his fatigue anymore, he

laid on Riley’s bed and fell asleep.

In the hospital.

Riley gave herself a dose of injection, which finally relieved the pain on her left arm. Then, she

massaged each acupoint according to the Chinese technique. Soon after, her limbs could move freely

again.

It was already one o’clock in the morning. Riley wasn’t on duty tonight, so she better hurry to bed to

avoid feeling dead sleepy tomorrow.

While covering her mouth to yawn, Riley saw William came down from the elevator!

“Dr. Watsom?”

Before Riley could avoid William, he had already seen her. This was what Riley was most worried

about.

“Mr. Hardesty, you’re here too. Why haven’t you gotten off work yet?”

William still had his white coat on. It seemed that he wasn’t getting off work any time soon.

“The patient who undergone surgery today is still in the ICU. I stayed to observe the patient’s condition

just in case anything were to happen. The patient is recovering well though.”

Riley nodded. Many patients were lucky enough to meet excellent doctors who managed to bring them

out from the surgery room, but some never left the ICU ever again.

William took a look at the time, “Why aren’t you home yet?” You’re not on shift tonight. But you need to

rest well, you are working tomorrow.”

Riley nodded, “I’m planning to sleep in the doctor’s lounge and get to work right after waking up.”

“No way. The doctor’s lounge is too uncomfortable. Look at how terrible your complexion is. You better

get a good rest.”

Although Riley didn’t have a mirror, she guessed she was probably looking awful right now.

“It’s fine. Soooo, I’ll go and rest first.”

Seeing how stubborn she was on the matter, William felt angry, but he couldn’t bear to see her like that,

“Here’s the key to the top floor. I’ll be going home later.”

Without caring about what she would say, he gave her the keys to the executive lounge, “I know what

you are worried about. But your health is more important than how others view you. Staying up late is

harmful enough to your body, and you still need to face the patients tomorrow, which would require

complete focus from you. It is up to you to decide.”

After giving her the keys, he walked away directly.

Looking at the keys, Riley shook her head and laughed helplessly. Oh, William, why are you doing this?

Sleepiness was taking over Riley’s mind, so she didn’t care that much anymore. She still had to treat

patients tomorrow, and she should think for them.

She did not sleep on his bed but chose to lay down on the long couch in the living room and entered

dreamland.

It should be no problem if she sneaked out before everyone got to work.

The next morning, Riley woke up and washed up in a hurry. After that, she realized it was only five

o’clock in the morning.

Should she continue to sleep or…?

Riley was in a dilemma.

Upon tugging at the collar of her shirt, she frowned. She sweated a lot during the operation yesterday.

Last night, she was too tired to realize this but right now, Riley was going mad because of the stench.

She decided to go home and change first.

Riley hailed a cab at the hospital entrance, and when the taxi driver asked for her destination, she said

‘YJ Villa’ even though she wanted to return to her apartment initially. Then, she fell asleep right away.

When the car stopped, she woke up, dazed at how fast time passed when she was sleeping!

In the villa, Euan frowned as he got up from Riley’s bed. It was not even six in the morning yet.

The sky was already brightening up. Euan rubbed his temple and came out from her bedroom.

She didn’t come home last night!

Riley, upon entering the villa, met eyes with Euan!

He had a glass of water in his hand while he stood in the living room. Riley stopped before the shoe

racks, almost forgetting to take off her shoes. The two just looked at each other, and it felt like

something was burning in the air.

When she came back to her senses, she bent down and removed her shoes. On the shoe rack, she

saw his black Versace shoes, and next to it was a pair of red Chanel heels.

Lydia’s?

She didn’t know what she was thinking and used her shoes to push the heels to the side, making way

for her own as she put her shoes next to Euan’s.

“You didn’t come home last night. Riley Watson, is it that fun out there?!”

His voice was laced with anger as he lashed out his dissatisfaction towards her for not answer his texts

and calls.

He looked cold and distant, and on his face, she even found traces of disgust for her because she did

not come home last night. All his words were mocking and showed his indifference towards her.

In an instant, she felt like a joke for squeezing her shoes between the other two pairs earlier.

His indifference crushed her excitedness and expectations.

“Lydia and you are like newlyweds. I didn’t return home last night, but that provided both of you a

private space. You guys spent the beautiful night together, so…what are you unsatisfied about?”

Her heart was in pain. She was mad. But upon thinking of how gentle he was with Lydia last night, and

how cold he was towards her this morning, she would never show him her jealousy.

Being jealous meant she cared, and being indifferent meant the total opposite.

Euan heard the sarcasm in her tone. It wasn’t surprising for her to assume that he and Lydia had slept

together last night. But other than mocking him like an outsider, she didn’t seem to feel aggrieved at all.

At this thought, Euan burned with fury. He was now outraged as he tightened his grip on the glass and

sneered, “You are the madame of the George family, and you must always remember that no matter

what you do, you must not make yourself seem like an immodest woman.”

Riley looked up at the beautiful man under the lights. She couldn’t avert her gaze at all, her heart was

thumping loudly, but there was no expression on her face. Euan called her an immodest woman?

How much must he disdain her to say such words?

“This is a little unfair, Euan. Women have to be loyal in their marriages, but men didn’t need to.”

Her tone was laced with mockery, and exhaustion which was too much for her.

Euan smirked coldly, “You are jealous?”

Riley shrugged, “I don’t know what’s that. If you want to check my whereabouts, just go to the hospital

and investigate all you want. But immodest is not a good word, Euan. You need to use it carefully.”

So, she was in the hospital the whole night?

Then why didn’t she pick up the phone?

Euan wanted to ask further, but Riley had already dragged her tired feet to the end of the hallway.

Whatever the reason was, Euan was relieved when he knew that she didn’t come home because of

work. At the same time, he was displeased.

Why did he seem to care more about this ignorant woman now?

He gulped down the glass of water in his hand, looking as if he was drinking alcohol. He sucked in a

deep breath and turned around, prepared to take a shower.

Riley returned to her room and smelled the scent of tequila in the air. The smell was even more

pungent on the bedsheet.

She must be crazy from thinking about him! Why would he even come in here?

She picked up a towel and went to the bathroom on the opposite side as she didn’t have a shower in

her room. Fortunately, there was a luxurious, renovated bathroom here which was convenient and

comfortable to use.

Riley removed her clothes, then got into the bathtub with a massage function. Her whole body was

sore, and she thought of relaxing in the tub first before going to work.

After getting into the tub and the mist surrounded her, Riley’s furrowed eyebrows finally returned to

their original positions. She simply closed her eyes and enjoyed the gentle massage in the bathtub.

Riley laughed in mockery midway. It turned out only the bathtub could comfort her amidst her

exhaustion.

Euan ascended the stairs to the second floor. Just as he was about to enter the master bedroom to

shower, he remembered that Lydia was still sleeping. Frowning, he released the doorknob and went to

the cloakroom to get a new towel. He would just use the bathroom on the first floor!

He was in a dilemma. His feelings for Lydia were slowly deteriorating. The closer she was to him, the

more he wanted to push her away.

But for Riley, the further she was from him, the more he wanted her in his arms!

Damn it! He didn’t like this feeling at all.

The bathroom door on the first floor was closed, but no sound came from within. Euan turned the

doorknob and strode in.

Upon entering, the lingering mist surrounded him immediately. He frowned and soon, saw Riley who

was resting in the bathtub with her eyes closed!

In the hot and misty bathroom, there was Riley who had removed her clothes, with her hands placed on

both sides of the tub. Crystal-like droplets of water hung on her fair arms.

The bubbles in the tub blocked the curves on her body, but her neck and collarbone which were

exposed in the air were even more seductive.

Euan pulled and closed the bathroom door silently and took a step forward uncontrollably. The

bathroom had a transparent window at the back of it, allowing the people inside to look at the flowers

out there. The bathtub was huge enough to fit three to four people, and this only enhanced the charm

of Riley, who was currently laying in there.

On the other hand, Riley was immersed in her thoughts. She thought of the incidents for the past three

years, from her own situation, the criticisms of those around her to the Watson Residence view. Her

heart was in a knot.

She did not realize someone had entered the bathroom at all.

Euan looked down at her face that was red from the heat, and her hair that was dripping with water…

The lower part of his abdomen tightened all of a sudden, and he felt fire all over his body. He was

turned on in an instant.

It was always like this when it came to her. He tried to suppress the feeling on his lower abdomen as

his brows furrowed tightly together.

“Click.”

The sound of the belt unclicking woke Riley up. In shock, she widened her eyes. Before she could lift

her head, a pair of long legs donned in black pants entered her sight from her peripheral vision.

Her eyes rounded, and when she looked up, she saw Euan’s charming face amidst the mist, as well as

his hands which were unbuckling his belt.

“Why are you here?”

Initially, she wanted to ask him in a questioning tone. But it all happened too abruptly, and when she

spoke, her voice sounded nervous and gentle. Rather than questioning him, it seemed that she was

excited about his presence.

Cr*p! She was not excited at all. What if he misunderstood her?

Euan continued to remove his belt, then his pants, revealing a pair of long legs. Barefooted, he took a

step forward while his hands started unbuttoning his dress shirt slowly.

At this moment, Riley’s mind finally cleared up from the shock she suffered, “Euan, what are you

doing? Didn’t you see that I am taking a shower? Could you go out first?”
