Chapter 91 He Called Her Darling the First Time
Riley planned to go back to work tomorrow as usual, so she went through discharge formalities and
went back to her office in a hurry. She didn’t get much attention because she claimed it was food
poisoning.
However, stories about her relationship with William Hardesty were somehow spread everywhere in
various exaggerated versions.
“Dr Watson, you knew Mr Hardesty in your college years?”
“Dr Watson, it never came to me that you and Mr Hardesty were lovers. Your secret was well-hidden,
and you’re quite a low-key person.”
“Come on! Mrs Hardesty, you don’t need to keep low-key about it. Our hospital is friendly to office
affairs.”
Riley felt sad and helpless. Who started the rumors? She totally can’t understand!
Serena Rose came near her with smiling face, “Dr Watson, the story of Mr Hardesty risking his life to
save you has become a fairytale in our hospital. How inspirational, romantic and hot-blooded it is. The
men doctors seem to see a way to show their charming personalities, and they’re full of passion every
day.”
How boring it is!
“Nothing happened between me and Mr Hardesty. Rumors would disappear as time goes by. Please
send me the records of the ward rounds of the patient with coronary heart disease.”
“Don’t fob us off with patients.”
Dr Watson knocked Serena’s head kiddingly with the file in her hand, “When did it happen that a
doctor’s job is to gossip, while treating patients become the sideline?”
“Well, you win, I can’t outargue you. Here are the patient’s records, and these, these, they’re all of
yours. Oh, right, this one is sent by Ms Pouchain when you were absent.”
Damn it. There was mounting pile of work waiting for her! She just didn’t go to work for one day, but it
seemed as if half a year passed!
“Able men are always busy. Wish you good luck, Dr Watson.”
Serena went away grinningly.
Humph! The king can do as he likes. Jeanne Pouchain would definitely try to be harder on her on the
basis that rumors about her and William Hardesty went into her ears.

Holding piles of files, Riley walked out of the hospital, and it had already past six.
She hailed a taxi and went back to her apartment.
She put the files on the sofa and decided to cook meal for herself.
Her phone rang as she was wearing the apron.
It was Euan George?!
Why would he call her?
“Where are you?” he asked calmly and briefly.
Riley bit her lips, “At home.”
Euan raised his hand to check the time, and then he took his car key and walked to the elevator while
talking to the phone, “Which home?”
She never called YJ villa home, even if she did, she must be forced to do it. She replied naturally, so it
must not be the villa.
“In……my own apartment.”
She was not good at lying, so she told the truth.
Good! She didn’t go the villa.
The fact was, he didn’t want to go there either.
“Have you eaten dinner?” why Euan asked so naturally?
“Not yet, but I’m gonna do it myself.” and why she replied so naturally?
Euan sit into the car and the black Rolls-Royce got started with a click as the key whirled, “Any food at
home?”
Riley stood in front of the fridge, in which there was……
She felt awkward and found there was only cocktail but no food in the fridge.
Euan frowned slightly, “Go downstairs now and wait for me at the entrance of the shopping mall. I’ll be
there in about ten minutes.”
What did he mean?
“Hello? Hello!”
The phone was hung up!
With doubts in mind, Riley took off the apron and changed her shoes, walking to the shopping mall. It
only took her less than twenty minutes to get there. In a short distance from the shopping mall, she saw
a Rolls-Royce parking among the ordinary cars, particularly conspicuous among them. Nobody had the
nerve to park the car beside it.
It was not a developed place, and people’s consumption ability was at the median level, so there were
few people driving expensive cars. But the Rolls-Royce parking there made everybody try to avoid it,
because the repair would cost them even more than a car of theirs if people accidently scratched it.
A tall figure came out of the car, black Versace suit and a fine-featured charming face attracting
people’s eyes.
He was noble, mature and aloof, revealing an air of arrogance. It can be nobody but Euan George.
“What are we doing here?” Riley came up to him.
Euan observed the mall and said, “The supermarket is at the underground floor?”
“Yes, what’s wrong?”
Good.
He moved his long legs before she could react!
She stood stiff there and he looked back with an impatient look, “Don’t you move?”
Er……fine.
But what did he mean by shopping together in the supermarket? And……he got a shopping cart in his
hand? Heavens!
People’s eyes around locked at him and as if they would eat him alive, but he just ignored them. Such
a noble and dashing man was like a lighthouse wherever he went. He was the man form heavens!
Riley kept herself apart from him……
“Why do you keep far away from me? Come over.”
She moved to him with small steps…….until there was still one step distance between them.
He frowned and directly held her waist with his arm!
She felt nervous and tense, breathing quickly! She felt fire was burning in her brain!
Riley was extremely hot in the burning.
Meeting the jealousy and unfriendly eyes from the people around, Riley moved her muscle unnaturally
and forced a smile, “Euan, What are you doing?”
Euan remained calm and pushed the cart slowly to the fresh food section, “Shopping for groceries.”
Riley was too shocked to speak.
“Why are you sanding there? Get something you can cook, I’m hungry.”
She looked up at him, swallowed, “……”
His eyes were as dark as ink, in which there was a sense of evilness and pride, “Are you done with
that? Let’s get some food materials.”
Buying, buying food materials?
The whole world was shivering with her together.
Riley got some materials easy to cook, with vegetable as the main food, supplemented by meat and
fish.
“Done.”
There were just a few things in the cart. Euan frowned, “That’s all?”
Riley nodded, “It’s enough for a meal for us.”
His brows smoothed and he wondered, what if it was more than a meal?
But he decided to say nothing.
There was a long queue for paying bills. Riley thought it would be possible that people may voluntarily
make way for because of his dashing face and unique air, so she tried to hold the cart, “I’ll go, you can
wait for me outside.”
But the moment her hand touched the medal rod of the cart, he covered her hand softly with his, in
such a natural but domineering way……
“I’ll go with you.”
There was no way for her to refuse him.
“Cash or credit?” the cashier locked her crazy eyes on Euan.
Riley didn’t like it and replied with anger, “Alipay, please!”
She left home in a hurry only with her phone, so she can only pay by Alipay.
Euan took out his wallet and put it on her hand, grabbing her phone, “Cash.”
Riley was speechless again.
It was unbelievable that a man like him should have cash with him?!
“Good, sir.”
The cashier intended to take the one hundred RMB pulled out from the wallet from Riley’s hand, but
Riley held the money tightly. A few seconds later……
“Darling, we need to pay for the food.”

her just now?
It was almost four years since their marriage that she never ever heard him call her darling, never!
With great shock in her brown eyes, she stared at Euan blankly, as if everybody disappeared at the
moment.
That face was extremely enchanting and charming, with his profound and beautiful eyes growing
deeper and wider, in which all his qualities and nobility were sealed up, mysterious and immeasurable.
“Hey! Do you move or not? We have no time waiting!”
She was stiffened. Euan held her shoulder and took her away.
“Your changes……”
Their leaving figures seemed to tell the cashier that they didn’t hear it.
When getting in the car, Riley finally came back to her sense, “I…I need an explanation.”
Euan started the car and replied casually, “Why?”
As her husband, he should be allowed to call her darling.
But why he felt so pleasant and good when he called her that way?
They went upstairs and got in the house. Riley prepared to cook dinner.
She looked like a gentle and considerate wife now after wearing the apron, her toughness in the day
totally disappearing. Euan was pleased with it.
“Would you like the steamed or boiled?”
She meant the fish.
He sat on the sofa in the living room, with his legs crossed, and flipped the files she brought home from
hospital, “Suit yourself, I can eat as you like.”
He meant her.
Riley felt hot in the face. Shameless! He never forgot to flirt with her, even when they were talking a
fish!
Finally she braised the fish with a lot of pepper! Let him feel how hot it was!
When she finished, four dishes and a soup were served on the table. What a wonderful dinner! Homely
dishes were not a big deal for her.
“Dinner is ready.” she prepared bowls and chopsticks, called Euan.
His tall figure was sort of daunting. His uproarious air can be sensed everywhere in the narrow living
room.
He sat at the table directly and reached for chopsticks.
“Hmm……did you wash your hands?”
She asked naturally.
He reached out his hands, “They’re clean.”
As a doctor, Riley can’t stand it, “You touched the files just now, which has been touched by numerous
people. Even they’re not dirty, there are bacteria. Wash your hands before eat.”
She took away his chopsticks.
Euan frowned but felt happy, “Right.”
With the water flowing slowly, his strong male hormone was traced by her breath, full of dangerous
temptation.
He washed hands and showed them to her, “How about now?”
She held her breath for a moment, “……good.”

She knew he can’t eat spicy food. She did it on purpose.

He pushed aside the pepper and peppercorns on the fish with chopsticks, with the fair and tender fish
exposed, “This is the way you like it to be?”
Well? He could eat as she liked……
With kidney beans in her mouth, she almost choked, “Are you going to eat or not?”
He was such a talkative machine.
He got a piece of fish, with a calm expression, “Yes, of course. As long as you like it, I will definitely eat
it even you poisoned it.”
Ambiguous atmosphere spread in the air……the air became hot…….Dr Watson blushed.
“I think”
He intended to put the fish in his mouth, but Riley finally gave up and said, “This may be a little too
spicy for you. It’s better to taste other dishes.”
A cunning look flashed in his eyes. He replied quietly, “Hot food gives people a lot of flavor. Strip off the
skin, and taste the tender meat. The spicy lingers in mouth and excites the taste bud.”
God! He was eating fish, but she felt her clothes had been stripped off by him!
His mouth was burning like fire. What a hard woman!
Riley put a big piece of fish in his bowl, “Well, it seems that you are an expert at eating fish, then please
help yourself.”
Let pepper teach you a lesson! Riley wondered.
He remained calm, “It seems that one bite can’t meet your demand, then how many times do you
want? I can satisfy you. It doesn’t matter if I get inflamed.”
