Chapter 55 – Blind Date

“Nat, what are you doing here!” Mercedes asked, surprised, as Nathan strolled into her office and approached her desk. For as long as they were in the company together, they had hunch together. Despite all the stress they had endured together, they still turned heads as the most attractive couple wherever they went.

“Do I need permission to come see my wife?” Nathan asked possessively, as he enveloped her in his arms and planted a kiss on her lips. Moving behind her, he brushed strands of hair to the side of her shoulder.

Mercedes’s body always reacted quickly to him, but this time, she felt something cold on her neck as Nathan whispered in her ear. “You forgot to wear a necklace, so I had one delivered to you”

Mercedes blushed. Nathan made her feel as if they had just fallen in love. He never stopped taking things about her seriously, noticing even the smallest details that Mercedes wouldn’t have noticed herself.

She was eager to check the necklace he had bought for her, but he wouldn’t let go of her hand. Turning her to face him, he admired his choice of a ruby necklace that matched her outfit perfectly.

Nathan didn’t have a plan but instantly thought of one in a bid to impress his wife. “We met at the club, right?”

Mercedes knew where he was going with this and reminded him, “Oliver has already been to the club many times.”

“I think we can set him up with a woman. Who knows?” He shrugged. Mercedes was so desperate to see her brother settle down that she didn’t object but said. “What if the woman is bad? Oliver doesn’t have a problem with women. He just doesn’t think they are right for him.”

“Then let’s set him up on a blind date, Nathan said thoughtfully. Mercedes doubted that Oliver would agree to the arrangement,
