Chapter 169 It was all Mathew's fault
"Put down the gun," Andrew suggested.
Mathew put down his gun first, he was not in a position to do anything else. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
Bruce finally let go of Mathew, the moment he put away the gun.
"Sarah is in there, right?" Anne asked him.
Mathew didn't answer but his facial expression said it all.
Anne kicked the door and went into the room.
"Sarah, open the door, we are here to bring you home…"
She smacked on the door repeatedly but nobody answered.
"Let me do it," said Bruce, he went up to the door and aimed his gun at the bolts. Sparks flew
everywhere and the door was forced open.
Sarah was sitting on the bed, her eyes listless. She looked at the people walking in, she remained
expressionless.
Mathew's accomplices were trying to yank Sarah away, but there were too many of them walking into
the house, they couldn't do anything in the end.
"Good lord, it has only been a few days, you are already all skin and bone. What happened to your
head?"
Anne was angry and frustrated, tears rolled down her cheeks, she was distressed about what Sarah
had gone through.
Sarah glanced at Anne and started to shed tears as well, "Anne…"
They hugged each other tightly, Ernest thought that it was a good idea that they brought Anne along.
Everybody was in the house now, but it was eerily silent.
"What happened to your head?"
Anne dried her tears, she asked worriedly, there was still blood on Sarah's head, the wound was still
fresh.
"I'm fine."
Sarah's eyes were quiet, she muttered just two words and hugged Anne tightly, not saying another
word.
"What do you mean you're fine? Look at your body, wait… What is this?"
There was a paper slip on the floor, before even picking it up Anne read it out loud, "Abortion pills…"
The word slipped out of Anne's mouth and everybody's heart was in the abyss.
At some point Andrew came in, he stood in front of Sarah and said, "I'm sorry I'm late."
Sarah didn't bat an eye at him, she continued hugging Anne and wasn't saying anything.
"Mathew, do you want to die?"
Bruce yelled at Mathew unhappily, he walked up and was about to punch him.
Mathew managed to move to the side and held the punch that was thrown at him, the expression in his
eyes filled with disdain, "You don't have any rights to say anything about me, Mr. Randall, did you
forget what you did to her one year ago?"
"That was between me and her and it's none of your business."
Bruce's face darkened as he stared at Mathew.
"I thought you hated second-hand products, isn't that right?"
Mathew said nonchalantly, Sarah who was clinging to Anne curled up into a ball upon hearing that.
What Mathew said, caused an immense change in Andrew's expression.
His intense gaze now fixed on Bruce.
Bruce was Sarah's ex-boyfriend, and he actually…
He suddenly remembered that Sarah wasn't a virgin, it matched up with what Mathew was saying.
Andrew finally looked at Sarah, her face anguished and haggard. Anne quickly defended Sarah after
hearing what Mathew said, "I think, none of you is that great. One of you was ashamed of having her
as a girlfriend, a narcissist and a clueless person. The other stole the work of somebody who had been
working hard for more than ten years, you guys are all just shameless pricks."
"Stop."
Said Sarah, her voice hoarse, so faint that it sounded hazy.
"Give her to me," said Andrew to Anne.
Anne wasn't willing to but Ernest went up and pulled her away. The woman finally fell into the man's
embrace.
"I missed you a lot in the past few days."
He whispered, hugged her tight, the moment she was next to him.
Sarah looked at him clearly, she avoided his gaze. She didn't want to fall into his arms, but right now,
she didn't have any energy left in her body, and so she let him be as he hugged her.
She heard him whispering in her ears, but she didn't answer.
"To err is human, I regret my mistake and now I'm trying to correct them."
Bruce could only look while Andrew was hugging Sarah tightly, there was a hint of jealousy in his eyes,
and also displeasure.
But he was the one that let go of her back then.
"Tell me, what's with the abortion pills on the table?"
Anne questioned Sarah, tears rolling in her eyes, she felt so sorry for Sarah.
"It is what it is."
Mathew looked straight into their eyes, he answered without even hesitating.
He wasn't going to add more details to the situation, Andrew already knew about it and Mathew hated
repeating himself.
"You scumbag! How could you!"
Anne looked around, her eyes filled with tears, she finally knew why Sarah was in that state. She had
been hurt, again and again, she wasn't numb, she just wanted to die.
And there was nobody to blame but herself, if only she wasn't nice to him, if only she didn't give him all
the nice things she had, and this was how he treated her after all these times!
"You really make me hate you the more I know about you! Mathew, you are a real piece of shit!"
Mathew's expression never changed, it was as if he didn't have any emotions.
It was no use scolding him.
Looking at how he was acting, Anne was boiling in anger and wanted to slap him. But Ernest halted her
in her tracks as she was walking up to Mathew, "Don't get involved, please, promise me!"
"Go away, I need to beat the shit out of this dirtbag for Sarah, for what she had to go through! She
suffered so much more than I did!"
Ernest glanced at her, deep inside he was unsettled, and a bit jealous of Sarah because Anne was
willing to do so much for her.
"Don't cry, I won't let you go through that again, " Ernest said to Anne earnestly, or maybe he was
saying it to himself.
Suddenly, the woman cried out, she snapped, "Andrew, I was so scared…"
She buried her head in his neck, her lips trembled.
The man tried to wipe away her tears with his slender fingers, he frowned, his heart ached to see her
like this, "I know, grandfather is not going to blame you for this, I'm here for you."
Sarah shook her head, her smile was bitter and she was in despair.
He didn't understand, nobody understood, the reason why she was so afraid. Andrew's grandfather
wanted a grandchild, and now, she lost the child because she wasn't careful, there was no excuse.
"Sarah, there's no need to be so sad, we can just have another child. This is not your fault, I will explain
it thoroughly to my grandfather. Stop crying, I can't bear to see you like that."
The last sentence was filled with tolerance and patience.
Andrew kissed her fingers lightly, they were cold, ice-cold.
"...you don't understand."
Sarah's eyes were filled with despair, there were a few times that she almost said it all out loud, but in
the end, there was only silence.
Only she should be the one bearing the pain.
"I do, and as I said, it was all Mathew's fault, he was the one that forced you into this situation, you
didn't ask for this," it was as if Andrew was trying to brainwash her, he said it again and again, calmly
and gently, patiently and quietly.
