Chapter 88 Sarah Cox’s Arrival
Chapter 88 Sarah Cox’s Arrival
“Mr. Bask, you gotta help me!”
Andrew heard her calling for help again, but this time he felt the flighty tenderness from her words.
“Let go.”
She was holding onto his arms, making him extremely uncomfortable.
Bianca hesitated but still released him.
Andrew took the shot of liquor that looked like a glass of water. The mellow fragrance of the spirits
slowly sneaked into his nose. Looking at that man, who was a president of some corporation, then
other guests around, he emptied the shot glass within a blink of an eye.
Suddenly all eyes were on him. Someone came up to him and said, “Come on Mr. Bask! You said you
wouldn’t drink, but you drank for the lady. It’s not fair to drink with him and not with me.”
Other drinkers started crowding him. Andrew had been silently pondering for a while after that shot, but
nobody knew what he was wondering.
The liquor was so potent that he felt his throat burning just thinking about it.
There were at least ten more shot glasses waiting for him to empty, if he really went for all of them...
“Girls shouldn’t drink too much. I’ll do it,” Andrew spoke his righteous words.
People were shocked but excitedly went up to him to toast. He was losing consciousness gradually, but
more and more shots of liquor appeared to him as he finished some of them.
When Sandy was done with dinner and walked in, the air in this room was full of alcohol. Andrew was
surrounded by a crowd, already drunk and giddy, but there still were people walking up to him with their
shot glasses.
“Mr. Bask...”
Sandy looked at him in shock, “oh lord! He’s drinking!”
”And he’s drunk,” he thought.
He hadn’t had a single drink since what had happened a year ago, so why was he drinking tonight?
“Mr. Bask, Mr. Bask...”
Sandy wanted to push his way through the throng, but he failed, and someone was trying to hold onto
him, “Get off!”
Mr. Brown knew that Sandy was Andrew’s sidekick, he came over and told the guards to stop him,
“Don’t let him in. Andrew is just drinking a little more than usual. We’re having a good time tonight. He’ll
be okay.”
Sandy was impeded by the guards, staring at Mr. Brown with disgust.
This was not acceptable to Sandy. Things could go terribly wrong if Andrew continued to drink.
He thought, “Mr. Bask hadn’t drunk any alcohol for a year. If he drank too much, he could upset his
stomach.”
Sandy had sniffed the liquor, and he could tell that it was a hard drink. He didn’t drink any because he
was driving that night. Normally Mr. Bask wouldn’t allow him to drink either, but how come Mr. Bask
was not holding himself back at all.
Not making his way through the crowd, Sandy was like a cat on a hot tin roof.
Bianca started to regret her decision to ask Andrew for help. She thought she was just asking him to
help her with drinking, but obviously he did not stop drinking after the first shot. She tried to stop the
drinkers, but none of them cared and continued to drink with Andrew. Just like Sandy, Bianca was also
in a sweat now.
Bianca saw the guards hindering Sandy and asked them to stop. She didn’t think much about it and
turned to him, “Hey! You’re his assistant, right? Go get someone!”
“Was he drinking because of you?” Sandy asked. That was the very first reason that he thought of as
he felt Bianca’s jitteriness.
Bianca admitted flatly, “Yes he was, but I didn’t expect him to drink more than a couple of shots. I had
no idea how unrestrained these drinkers were.”
Sandy frowned and glanced at her. He didn’t bother to explain what he was thinking. He just picked up
his phone and made a call to someone.
“What?”
In the hotel, Sarah got this urgent call when she was trying to find some snacks.
“Yes Ma’am. Come here now. I’m afraid the alcohol will cause his stomach to bleed,” said Sandy.
He wished Sarah got here right now.
Sarah was startled by what he said. She knew how serious stomach bleeding could be. One time
Bruce was diagnosed with stomach bleeding, and the physician said it was almost too late to send him
to the emergency.
“Wait for me, I’ll be right there.” she replied.
There was no time for her to change: she covered herself with a coat that she randomly grabbed in the
room.
Andrew was completely drunk. The redness caused by alcohol crept into his cheeks. With his scarlet
lips closed, he rubbed the space between his eyebrows, as if he could stop the headache from outside.
His gaze was not sharp as it used to be anymore, and struggles were the only things left in him.
“Mr. Bask, you’re drunk. There are rooms upstairs here. Do you want Bianca to take you there so that
you can rest?” Mr. Brown whispered to Andrew, telling Bianca to come over.
The latter then quietly followed behind.
“Nah...” Andrew struggled to spit out the word.
His low-pitched voice was sounding a little hoarse, as if it was burned by the alcohol. The smell of
spirits surrounded him, both pungent and fragrant.
“It’s gonna be alright Mr. Bask. You are too drunk, go get some rest. Bianca will walk you upstairs, and
she will leave you in a minute,” Mr. Brown said.
Before the drunken man said something back, Mr. Brown had made the decision for him.
Gazing at Andrew, who was completely out of his skull and breathing deeply, Bianca felt her heart
galloping. Even this swacked look couldn’t conceal his attractiveness.
Her heart would not stop pounding. Bianca then moved towards him, “Thanks for helping me with the
drinks. Now it’s my turn to return the favor.”
She was going to help the man up, but he was too tall and thick that they both tumbled. In case they fell
again, Bianca put one arm on his waist as some sort of support.
At the doorway, “How much was the ride,” Sarah asked the cab driver and had her hundred dollar bill
ready.
She was here with her slippers on.
“Look at the meter, thirteen,” the driver replied and took the bill, “wait, I’ll get the change.”
“Would you please hurry up cause I’m in a rush.”
“One second. you’ve been saying that you’re in a rush the entire trip. I almost sped for you. I don’t get
why you were out so late at night with slippers on. Here you go, eighty-seven dollars...”
He was waiting for her to take the bills from him, but no one responded. He turned around and saw the
empty backseats and a wide-open car door.
Without any hesitation, Sarah decided to give up the eighty-seven dollars, which was a huge amount of
money to her after her bankruptcy.
Well, Andrew’s life was surely more important than eighty-seven dollars.
That was true.
“The third floor, the third floor...” she kept murmuring what she heard from Sandy’s phone call.
There was no extra time for her to stand in front of the elevator and wait, so she went straight to the
staircase, thinking it was only the third floor. The slippers were making this seemingly easy task almost
impossible to finish.
When she finally arrived at the third floor, her heart was beating as if it was trying to break her. NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
She took several deep breaths as she looked forward.
“Mrs. Bask! You’re here!”
Although she was out of breath and dizzy, she could tell that the voice from far away belonged to
Sandy.
“Where’s Andrew?” Sarah responded. As she was speaking, some shadows appeared in her sight.
