Chapter 181 Caught During An Intimate Moment
“Do you still dare to call me a bad guy?” Nicholas asked.
Upon hearing his question, Nancy vigorously shook her head. “No, I won’t call you that anymore. You’re so handsome! You’re simply the best!”
Satisfied with her response, Nicholas finally let her go.
As he looked down, he noticed that Nancy was barefoot, her delicate feet resting directly on the cold.
floor.
Concerned, he immediately picked her up and carried her to the couch.
“Why aren’t you wearing socks? The floor is so cold. You might catch a cold.” Nicholas said as he touched her chilly feet.
Indeed, Nancy’s feet had turned cold after standing on the floor for a while.
While warming her feet, he asked, “Where are your socks?”
“They’re in the cabinet. I didn’t have time to put them on.”
“Sit here. I’ll get them for you.”
“Okay.” Nancy nodded, a faint smile appearing on her lips.
Nicholas quickly retrieved the socks and handed them to her.
However, instead of letting her put them on herself, he knelt before her and gently slipped the socks. onto her feet.
“I can do it myself!” Nancy protested, feeling slightly embarrassed.
“Please, let me do it,” Nicholas insisted.
After breakfast, Nicholas prepared to leave for work. As he slipped on his shoes, he announced, “I’m leaving!”
“Okay!” Nancy nodded, engrossed in watching TV and sipping her milk.
Hmph! Nicholas felt neglected and displeased.
“Nancy…” he called out to her again. “I’m off to work.”
“Alright.”
He was speechless and certain that he was being completely ignored.
What should I do? he wondered, feeling upset.
Furrowing his brows, he marched over to the couch. Without much thought, he pulled Nancy into his
arms, lowered his head, and kissed her passionately.
He continued kissing her until she was breathless, gasping for air, and her face turned beet red. Reluctantly, he finally released her.
“Weren’t you supposed to go to work?” she asked.
“I was, but someone was so absorbed in the TV that they didn’t even acknowledge me,” Nicholas pouted, looking pitiful.
Nancy smiled helplessly and put on her slippers. “Allow me to escort you, then.”
When they reached the doorway and Nicholas was about to leave, his gaze suddenly landed on her lips.
Her lips glistened with a rosy hue from their shared kiss earlier, making them even more inviting.
Unable to resist, Nicholas pulled Nancy into his embrace and kissed her again.
Their breaths intertwined, and the heat between them intensified, making it hard for them to part.
Suddenly, the door creaked, and Linda pushed it open, walking in on them kissing passionately.
Both Nancy and Linda were startled. Nancy’s face turned crimson as she looked at Linda. Although they were close friends, it was embarrassing to be caught in such a compromising situation.
Sensing Nancy’s embarrassment, Nicholas gave her a comforting squeeze and turned to Linda. “She’s quite shy. Don’t tease her.”
Linda blinked, suddenly feeling like the bad guy. She hadn’t even done anything, and Nicholas was already protecting Nancy!
Before leaving. Nicholas reminded Linda, “She drank some alcohol yesterday and isn’t feeling well. Please take good care of her for me.”
“You’re not being fair, Mr. Sallow. I’ve been awake for two days straight due to the movie shoot, and now you’re just using me as you wish. Don’t you think you’re being too much?” Linda complained.
Nicholas glanced at her and replied indifferently, “The company is currently looking for a shampoo
ambassador.”
His words implied that Linda should focus on her work, effectively silencing her. Is this blatant temptation even fair? All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Once Nicholas left, Linda felt wide awake and immediately went to Nancy.
She had pulled two consecutive all-nighters to finish her movie shoot, but upon witnessing the situation between Nancy and Nicholas, her fatigue disappeared, and she was filled with energy
“What’s going on, Nancy? Have you guys made up? Linda asked directly.
“Yeah Nancy replied with a slight nod, conveying everything in her short answer.
“I worried for nothing I thought you’d be lonely, so I wanted to come back to be with you sooner, but it
seems that someone already has company,” Linda said dramatically, spreading her hands and letting out an exaggerated sigh. “I was worried for nothing, honestly. It also seems that I’ve turned into an extra
now,”
Nancy immediately hugged her. “No way! I’m so happy you’re here to keep me company, Linda.”
The two of them talked for a while, but deep down, Linda couldn’t completely let go of her resentment about the hurtful things Nancy had experienced after marrying Nicholas, especially in the presence of that scheming woman, Madelline.
However, faced with the sweet and content look on Nancy’s face, Linda couldn’t bring herself to say
those words.
Since Nancy was happy, she didn’t want to dampen her spirits.
Nevertheless, Linda remained deeply concerned.
Nancy quickly sensed her worry and asked, “Linda, is there something you want to say? It’s okay. You can tell me. We’re honest with each other.”
“I’m sorry, Nancy. I don’t mean to be a downer, but I’m just worried about you. Have you really thought things through with Nicholas this time? I’m afraid he might hurt you again. You know how straightforward I usually am with you, right? I hope you don’t take offense.”
Nancy immediately held her friend’s hand and reassured her with a smile. “You’re overthinking it. Why would I be offended? Besides, I know that you’re just concerned about me, and I understand your worries. Truth be told, I am also apprehensive. I don’t know if my choices are right or wrong, or what the future holds for us.”
“But… Nancy reminisced, her mind drifting back to distant memories. “I don’t want to look back one day and regret the choices I’ve made. You know, he confessed his feelings to me yesterday, and I was overjoyed. Ever since I fell in love with him, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this moment. I even thought I might never hear him say that he likes me. The instant I heard those words, I completely surrendered. myself to him. However, I’m also afraid. I don’t dare to ask if he still loves Madelline. I don’t even have the courage to inquire whether he loves me or Madelline more. Don’t you think I’m useless? I can’t even bring myself to ask a simple question.”
“Silly girl, Linda uttered, embracing her in a comforting hug. “I understand that you’re just scared.”
“I am, but I still want to summon my last ounce of courage for him. If it goes well, I’ll be elated, but what if it fails?”
